  1. Chin up fella, go speak to your line manager explain as you have done what the situation is, maybe you can get some leave and work it back or some sort of options. Life happens and some things are unavoidable, most employers know this and will work round this.
  2. I would recommend picking up some TT callipers, they come up cheap and getting them rebuilt. then your brakes will be better and the problem will be taken care of.
  3. if I was you id assemble the clutch on the flywheel and pop it on the gearbox shaft, this will allow you to see wethere you hav enough clearance and weather the starter engauges properly as it bolts to the gearbox not the block.
  4. Ah, I see good old number six. Another block is what I need atm lol. Might be worth getting it mapped properly to iron out any chinks in the system.
  5. Good news mate, was it your block that failed or your tubs?
  6. I have to say none of those issues are isolated to Scotland, the county I live in which is 2 hours from London has no motorway, and many villages where the bus comes on a Wednesday to take you to town for market day and home again that's your lot. Big diesel estates and 4x4s are family tools. It often feels with some the laws and regs they come with sone of these politicians have never left London, never been somewhere where if you fall over and hurt yourself it's a helicopter of nothing. The situation surrounding the benefits, primarily their improper allocation is a UK wide issue no doubt about that. Which is why so many people get so angry and passionate about it. The differences I wages in different regions is crazy and tbh one of the places to see the divide between the rich and poor is London itself. The question id like to ask and you don't have to answer it it's for you, how would you be better off? The same fat cars would take the same shares of the pie. Your pie might shrink but it doesn't mean the gm greed of those in charge will change, politicians see common folk as cannon fodder and cash machines, that's not new and it's sadly unlikely to change.
  7. A lot of new basic cars simply have two lights a blue to say it's still cold and a red to say your overheating, no gauge at all that's how my mrs car is.
  8. All I can tell you as I've not done it myself, is that there is a lump inside the bellhousing that needs to to be ground off to accept the larger flywheel, it's quite an obvious bump. The starter is obviously too close in and requires a spacer to allow it to mesh up.
  9. If they are slim enough you can neatly tuck them between the front rails and the headlight, take the panel off and you will see the slot I mean. I don't like clutter in the engine bay personally. Good shout on the steering wheel, the stock units are a bloody nice looking piece as they are.
  10. Trouble is though, the general issue is once it starts going north your already done. I've had it happen myself that needle leaves the center line and just heads north. I'm installing 3 gauges and I think personally a proper temp gauge has to be one of those 3 an early warning is incredibly useful.
  11. Il have you know Julia Roberts has offered me £500 quid and a sherbet dip for my chin hair, she wishes to use it as a merkin in her next block buster.
  12. The OEM gauge had three stages, cold normal and overheated.
  13. Keeps my chin warm that.
  14. That's cos no one else wears makeup simon, they don't call em vanity mirrors for nothing. :p
  15. I bet one of the big four next to the fan has popped off.
  16. Maybe a club member would be kind enough to have a quick look at it for you.
  17. Why do you think he sold them :p it's not an Evo already, Jesus.
  18. Your best of taking it to Noel for him to sit there and map it properly, he can then safely monitor what's going on providing you with the best power and safety. A poor map or tune however you wish to put it will kill the thing quite quickly, who knows how it's currently running and I would want it assessed by an expert before you go hitting boost. Also don't you dare buy it and not come round mine with it lol, I want a passenger ride.
  19. At least yours isn't fubar
  20. I'd be interested in hearing your reasoning as long as you can apply your reasoning as your own opinion, if that makes sense. As in present it in a way that it is your opinion and accept the fact that others may no necessarily agree, debate is enlightening. All we seem to be hearing about ATM is money, how it will effect people economically. Maybe Scottish people's opinions arnt that dissimilar to the rest of the UK, I can honestly tell you for example that living somewhere that couldn't be more different from central London that it often feels the rules are dished out and applied based upon things that have no bearing to us and can be completely illogical. For example the recent focusing on the criminal persecution of the humble pocket knife.
  21. There is a picture if a spanner round a nut at the end of the line with the torque numbers in NM, KG-m and ft-lb
  22. Honestly you will be fine, it's only a case if changing a gearbox, the wiring it's complex either it's essentially a link, this shorts out the inhibitor for the starter, the thing that stops it starting in gear. Then using the existing power supply to reverse switch to make them work. Easy. PS pump is situated directly below PS resivoir, it can be done in situee but removal requires the anti roll bar to be moved out the way, four bolts and swing it out the way to get clearance. I believe you have to use the NA bracket with the NA pump and vice versa. A small oil cooler would do it.
  23. Liar Barry I saw you at Coventry lol. I might actually come along next year, il bring some burgers haha!
