  1. Have a chat with CR turbos, they sorted yewcheck out with some gt525 type turbos with genuine garret cores. I seem to remember mark saying that midland turbo will build them for about £700.
  2. Haha makes perfect sense. Use the same principal on various controllers at work, otherwise they would be on and off so quick it would cause damage.
  3. Exactly what I plan to do softer spring rate stiffer ARB that is the correct way to make a car that corners flat and turns in right but remains predictable and not overly twitchy, is that correct?
  4. I'd say you need to do more research. If your on a budget either get new stock cores or build a set if custom turbos. He could have a pair of common gt28 cores rebuilt and the stock housings machined to fit to make a set of gt525s, but I will say this, you do this at your own risk. I wouldn't expect a rebuilt turbo to last as well as a new one. Alternatively there are a few off the shelf turbos you can reclock and modify to suit, most of z1s kits are just that with a fitting kit.
  5. Sorry, I was under the impression that under certain scenarios; for example drifting, when the power may be expected to be on inside the rev limiter at times, when they slide round the corner on the rev limiter. In this instance the car is under load and still trying to apply power(I guess you could call that shitty driving). I guess thats nonsense then?
  6. You can change those bushes with the box in situee as well btw, it's fiddly but it's more pleasant than removing the box.
  7. £350 is pretty reasonable, rebuild kits are available btw.
  8. My stater bolts did the same, the stock ones are m10 I ran a 10mm drill be through then tapped them to m12, had to enlarge the other holes on the starter to but now it's solid as a rock. I used Allen head fixing which made life easier as well. Keep thinking about switch to an electronic PS like yourself, that way I can run the turbo inlets straight and bin that dumb dog leg section.
  9. Technically we have coilovers stock, so it's not coilovers that suck it's the way they are setup normally too harsh and bouncy.
  10. Like it or lump it fossil fuels are finite resource you cannot base the future of a country on them. They also become out of fashion or superseeded if you had told the miners it was all going to fall apart they wouldn't have believed you I doubt but look how that went. As I say interesting times ahead.
  11. BC have a good reputation and a complete damper and spring assembly is fairly complex so can vary a lot brand to brand. Do you actually want fully blown height adjustable coilovers? Or do you just want to firm things up and have a modest drop? Be interested to see BC arms etc Pete, BC stuff is made in Tiwan like most but that doesn't equal tar as can be seen by there coilovers which are TUV certificated.
  12. I agree, you should, but you don't lol. I just think it's unfair that unknowning newbies spend double in the same product because although most of us have made the connection no one says.
  13. Regardless of the colour or "manufacturer" many of them are extremely similar if not the same, make of that how you will.
  14. Google them as pictures you will soon see, pillowballs are stiffer and more responsive, however rubber bushes ones are less crashy and harsh.
  15. Of corse lol, same as people from dorset are either Gypsies or Pirates, apart from one or two farmers that's true.
  16. All Australian men are called Bruce and all females Sheila, that's a fact.
  17. My alignment was acceptable when the car was about 30mm lower than stock, its now 50-60mm lower than stock and all over the shop way beyond thecstock adjustment, fortunately I have a full set of adjustable arms to fit sat on the shelf.
  18. I think my name will be changing very shortly lol
  19. Lol yeah I forgot I've been with Obama, to space and various other adventures this year, I really do get about lol. I think your totally right there, so many people you may form an opinion on based on what they have written and how you have interpreted that can often be so wrong. The written word often lacks tonality and personality, I met a few people that many might consider grumpy or rude even that are in reality just sarcastic wind up merchants that in real life have you in side splitting fits of laughter.
  20. He's probably not joking as he works for them lol. Whilst I do think there is a real chance you may go independent I personally think the honeymoon period will wear off quick, the same bent self indulgent politicians will be in charge albeit they will be all Scottish prats instead of a mix of British prats who are mostly English prats. Becoming a part of the EU proper will bring more grief than benefit, let's face it were on the verge of being the country of Europe and the countries being more like states in their composition at which point it will make scratch all difference all this independence buisness. Interesting times ahead, very interesting.
  21. This years been good, next year well watch this space because I think it's just gonna keep getting better and better.
  22. I agree that that is a lunatic idea, healthcare is free along as you don't need medacine to take at home, fine if your in hospital though, it's nonsense. Equally I have never understood why the NHS gives you everything for free unless it's your teeth or eyes, why dentists and opticians are seperate to the rest I have no idea.
  23. There are some multi purpose gauges, that read more than one perameter if your tight on space.
  24. Yeah pretty much mate, the ideal scenario is to get one with good compression I can drive about on without it letting go for about 18 months. I think the reality is that I'll be building an engine from scratch, hopefully I'll have the cash from successful legal action to pay a certain expert to do a proper job of it.
