  1. Oh right so the same thing just not Z1s branded version.
  2. Cheers for that Andrew, I'm hoping to come out virtually straight, then pop the tube out under the headlights. That kit still uses the same idea of a periscope it's just opened up to remove the constrictions.
  3. I couldn't say I agree about big brands and new cars. Big money co-operations and sponsorship deals have a part to play, say your racing car for the brand is heavily and openly supported by a tire manufactuer, putting a different brand on the road cars won't sit to well with that sponsor for example. I've had three different brands on the van this year, Hancook, Goodyear and Continental. The Contis were a bit pants tbh, they wore very quickly and I didn't feel very confident with them, Goodyears are nice a grippy and lots if feedback and seem to be lasting. The Hancooks were ok and lasted well. The zed doesn't get through many tyres, the current cheap tyres on the back are better than the pzeros with 3mm left, I brought them at 5mm and don't ever remember them being amazing esp in the wet. I've got falkens up front which once bedded in are pretty nice.
  4. What turbos are you going to use?
  5. You know I've been thinking about what causes the periscope for weeks but been too lazy to check, I assumed it was the Ancileries, PS pump AC etc
  6. Neither did I. I don't like them silver but that darker shade may look good, watching with interest.
  7. The cost of 2.5" is annoying, the AMS ones are cheapish but don't fit, the others are expensive. I'm going to make my own. Noel is the periscope part that bolts to the turbo face as restrictive as it looks? I'm keen to bin that off in the process.
  8. An appropriate map to suit the 555 injectors and larger turbos. Dependant on the turbos used, different turbo elbows and oil feed line restrictors. An engine in tip top health.
  9. This is a fair point as many victims apparently feel shame and embarrassment towards themselves over these crimes, so the experts say. Horrific crimes like these should never go unpunished. With that said today morality and yesterday's vary, for example to marry a girl of 14 or 15 years ago was perfectly acceptable and still is in many countries, however in this country at this time you can be punished for this and it's morally unacceptable, the reason I make this point is the attitudes to what is acceptable conduct with women has changed a lot over the last 50 years and that must be taken into account. There is in my mind a very clear line however between molestation and moral faux pars. We struggle in this day and age to let the guilty hang and let the unfortunate mistakes slide.
  10. What Serbs to get forgotten is many of these people have had previous allegations against them, sometimes the same people that are coming forward now were silenced at the time. Certainly that went on with Saville. My theory is that a public figure head or politician was at the top of this house of cards and something has happened to them. They have either they have died or they're bribes have failed. The whole house of cards has come tumbling down with them, leaving the abused open to come forward.
  11. You need to investigate the simple stuff before you get too disheartened. Tbh mate I always assumed that a full engine rebuild was on the cards considering the extent of the work you have so far put in.
  12. Mine did the same, I also decatted at the same time. Here's a thought, it's not an expert opinion just a thought. When many people's turbos start smoking simply turning on the AC can stop it. This from what I understand is due to rotational mass being increased. Now when the auto was in there the torque converter supplied drag, that's why the car idled so much higher and base idle was reset and why the engine revs far easier. So maybe the same applies to going manual. Try the old AC trick. But as Noel says you need to start investigating at least you can then say what it isn't.
  13. It's a personal preference thing. No one but us geeks can spot the difference aesthetically and the chassis difference on the road is irrelevant at legal speeds and I really do wonder on track how talented a driver you would have to be to see noticeable differences in lap times.
  14. Just for reference Gaz, Silverline doesn't use the forum anymore. As for the dice blue please, you know it suits red well.
  15. Are you from an engineering background Ian? That drawing is exactly the way I was taught in college, even down to the number orenentations.
  16. Fantastic excuse to go for a cruise.
  17. 0.16% is within tolerance isn't it? Tells you in that page what's suitable difference wise. Bear in mind the stock speedo is out, so when it says your doing 30 your more likely doing 28 or so, mines more accurate now with a slight discrepancy in the rolling diameter than before, checked and verified by the GPS.
  18. Just enjoy the stock car, sell off your bits and use the cash to get the basics sound, 60k service etc you could even keep so e of the bolt on upgrades to one side. Once your happy the car is healthy and solid then hand it over to Noel and add the bolt ons if you still had them and make some good useable power.
  19. Chin up fella. The tide is turning, I personally see much better growth now than even two years ago, as long as we don't get some Nit Witt that ruins the economy AGAIN we will be ok. Even the minimum wage us going up to be more in keeping with the living wage. Sooner or later we will get some money back.
  20. We don't do internal travel in this country. We travel outside ALOT Brits fly all over the world all the world and are generally pretty well traveled. However, yeah internal travel not so much. This is because our transport system is crap, trains are expensive long winded and always unpredictable. The road network is constricted and congested, not to mention the cost of fuel and the inconsistency. To give you an example, to travel to London gatwick from my home is 116 miles, that takes around 2 or so hours, that's not too bad, I can do it in 1.45 quite often but it regularly will take more like 2.5 hours. To reach Redruth in Cornwall is around 170miles not much further but takes nearly four hours on a good run, that's an average of 40mph! I travelled to the other side of Britian a few weeks back, bournemouth to Glasgow it took me about 17 hours door to door, to go there and come back I was in Glasgow for 2 hours... That was by aeroplane as well. That's why we moan, it takes about a month to get a mile. Obviously I'm sure America has it's issues with transport but it's a nation used to travel. When we go to Europe it's really highlighted how bad our transport services are, driving from mine to Scotland and driving clear through France arnt massively different timescale wise, and France is pretty big.
  21. Imagining things again lol! He has brought Gruntpa's old car which is a wise arch is it not? Got a full storsk or however you spell it kit.
  22. Just incase your unfamiliar, the quickest way to tell other than the lack of back seats is the petrol flap is infront of the rear wheels, obviously that can be seen quite quickly, like when driving by.
  23. I used those pages for a lot of my deletes etc, really helpful.
  24. Looks like the AIV and EGR solenoids are still in situe. Do your boost gauge work?
