  1. I not going that way anytime soon I'm afraid. I've got next week off aside from Monday when I'm in petersfeild then I'm in Newquay for a week the week I'm back then it's Xmas.
  2. Find a way to claim they don't come with cats?
  3. Eek! When you cutting the front end off then for a space frame lol
  4. Gaz, you've got more projects in the go ATM than Dorset County Council!
  5. Good luck, both sets of cats I've had have been riddled with rust.
  6. Yeah same as mine, should be much brighter. I think if after a double check there's still nothing obvious then I'd say you've received a duff, just seems odd there both dim.
  7. Yep, yep and yep, TPS, fuel damper anything that effects how much fuel goes in at a given time. I'd start with the simple stuff, clean properly made connections and a sealed system. You fitted that engine didn't you?
  8. I've got plenty want to finish one for something to do haha!
  9. Are they a legal requirement in Denmark?
  10. Too close to make a proper difference from what I can see. Ie merely changing the k rating is unlikely to effect the total light passing the dirt.
  11. Actually hold on, that might be *****x. Yellow is close to red in the spectrum it's a long way from blue. So the stock should be worse as it's a lower K with less ability to penetrate, have to look that up.
  12. Fair comment Si, yeah the stock colour temp would have a better ability to penetrate. It is more focused but it's still a discharge style lamp rather than point source like LED AFAIK.
  13. Yeah, it could still have failed from the water jacket to oil jacket, but it looks like the bottom end is ok...get it tested. Replacing a head gasket is a lot easier/cheaper than rebuilding the while engine. If your plugs are a dry sooty black that indicates poor combustion, think boost leaks, weak spark etc. oil is more gooey where as black soot and wet is fuel fouled. It sounds like it's been over fuelling so lots to check.
  14. How dim are they? And what was the wattage of the kit. The K rating short for kelvin is a measurement of the colour and heat if you like of light rather it's intensity. Different colour wavelengths have different penetration abilities, for example red light doesn't travel very far or penetrate water particularly well, blue on the other hand penetrates extremely well, the offset is though that it takes more power to achieve the same PAR or intensity as the colour temperature goes up. 6.5k is roughly daylight on a bright sunny day. Hid works by exciting crystals with electricity which causes the light emission. Is everything defiantly hooked up correctly? If they arn't getting sufficient power, or the earth is bad ie the circuit is poor they won't illuminate properly. LEDs do the same quite often if you wire them up backwards you get a dim glow rather than an intense light source. If they are a dimmer than the halogens then they are either faulty, fitted incorrectly or the lense is filthy however if the lense was that bad your halogens would have been less than useless, they are poor but they do work as headlights sort of.
  15. Can you do that to a early style one?
  16. You may find if you pull the swage(under the car with the spot welds in)back out so it's vertical that may be enough to pull the bottom of the wing back in and reduce it. Mine was the same I did that and it's noticeably reduced it.
  17. As above there good numbers, if they were 180 ish I'd be getting curious but 160-170 is a good TT. There's some easy ways to spot an NA if you know what your looking for, if your overly worried. But I think it's just a healthy TT. Also mate bear in mind the accuracy of the compression tester, 10psi out at those kinds of pressure isn't a big mis read, it's the consistency that's most important.
  18. Living the dream ey Rich. Wish mine was on the road :(
  19. Welcome. It is similar to draxan's car, I have to agree though bin the meccano.
  20. Welcome o'board me hearties.
