  1. That's roughly 80kg, which sounds about right, maybe a little heavy I dunno I can lift an autobox on my own and I've got the arms of a gibbon. Autoboxes aren't worth their own weight in scrap really.
  2. Yeah it can, just want to clear the steam after a shower as without extraction it's ridiculous.
  3. Ok il go grab one tomorrow. I've got to replace the down lighters which I picked up today, the previous owner fitted normal ones in the bathroom gu10 240v types aswel. I only realised what they had done when they got damp. Bloody idiot. I've now got some fire rated ip65 12 mr16 type ones.
  4. Yeah it's a pretty high draw isn't it. I guess it's not the end of the world if the fan runs when not necessary. So il run from the lighting circuit, junction box is in a handy spot anyway. So I just need to define each cable, should take too long then run the three core across. The only thing that confuses me is I'd need two fuses, one for each live. Normally the fused isolator only contains live neutral earth doesn't it.
  5. Cheers Dave, I did think about that, space is pretty tight as it is. The trouble is there's already two pull cords in there already, one for the lights one for the shower. I was going to use some 1.5mm three core to wire the fan up, it's 25w. Will it cause an issue then the far lower load of the fan running on the same circuit(if I can get it in there). I may just have to wire it up in the lighting circuit as per the manufactures recommendation and live with the silly overrun.
  6. Nice mate, always take a little while to iron out the snags with anything.
  7. Thought we had more electrians than this...
  8. Take time to look for cyclists Richard...lol. Riding a bike in the dark, with no lights wearing black is pretty much a death wish, some may call it genetic engineering of a sort.
  9. I've seriously been considering one of recent. That age mid to late 80s is most likely the one is get. The domestic general says only one toy at a time though so I've gotta convince her, I've also got to find sonewhere to store the old girls.
  10. Yeah pre switch is constantly live, post switch is switched live. I've used the same wiring diagram really just transferred the power source.
  11. Evening chaps, sure we have a few sparkies here. Just doing the bathroom ATM and wish to fit an extractor fan. I've chosen one that's suitably large for the bathroom and an inline 240v model, this was for a few reasons but mostly for a safety aspect. It requires a switched live permanent live and neutral. We have an electric shower and the instructions recommend to use the supply from the lighting. This means everytime the lights go on for a wee the timer will be on for 20 minutes, seems a bit silly. So I thought I could utilise the shower switch. Pre switch live=permenant live Post switch live= switched live Pre switch neutral=neutral Does that seem acceptable? Should I fit a fused isolator for the fan supply?
  12. The job of the law is to punish the young for doing the same things the previous generation did without prosecution. That's bull I know but you get my point, kids used to be kids now their hooligans, most don't do anything new it's just the world has changed around them. I also enjoy the hypocrisy of many of the ruling class/age, 95% of young people wouldn't dream of having 3-8 pints then driving home, yet pops will, he always has and won't stop now just cos it's illegal. He will damn well point out your hooligan like nature for daring to be sitting around chatting in public. I love life, it's full of knobs. Most of them are in charge as well, at least they think things through and spend out money properly not treat us like cash cows and treat grown adults like children.
  13. There is a local banger racing oval near me, charges a nominal fee it's a meet and they do drift evenings. I haven't been to it as it's not my thing and driving my car on a concrete walled oval with the chance of broken glass and metal fragments doesn't float my boat, it's an option for some though.
  14. Unenforcable drivel. You can ban friends with the same car going to the same place at the same time.
  15. TVRs are often beautiful, the looks, the sound, they have it all but yes tail happy hero.
  16. Totally agree, which is what makes it even more annoying. The same principals apply many parts are similar if not the same. it's almost as if many places just can't be bothered. It's a daunting engine but the same rules apply it's not actually that complex.
  17. I hate stuff like that, I expect a cause and rectification quote and I don't expect to chase the garage for news. Time to take it to someone who knows about z32s, generic jap specialists are never much cop for these cars IMO.
  18. I met my hero, so I know what they are like and your right not a patch in a zed to drive but it's a different sort of pleasure it's about the pantomine.
  19. Yeah, your supposed to do things like that as a labour of love not a bish bash bosh job.
  20. Ouch, that's not great. He's obviously put some time and money into that but the details have been rushed. The filler on the back pannel is of the same standard.
  21. That's a beauty! Modern cars are so often bland, or just tacky. Very few new cars now have timeless good looks.
  22. For me it would be for one of these; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221606219679?nav=SEARCH My perfect one is a year or two older than that and not that colour but hell it's close enough for my point.
  23. Seems silly to just leave useless pipes wafting around in the breeze...the proper way is to delete ALL of it and use an NA pump and reservoir, that brings complications though as it's not just the pump the bracket is required yarde yarde yar. IMO it's acceptable to bypass the hicas feed line directly back to the pot. I'm doing mine this winter and have a few ideas to try.
