  1. Some examples off this very forum, which is a very limited sample of the market... £7.6k is fair money for a Z32 but for a U.K. TT in this condition, surely this should be far more of value? It’s a great car btw who ever owns it. https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?190988-1991-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-rare-uk-model-only-74k-fsh-only-3-owners-from-new Yours for a mere 4.5k, on the market since September. https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?190949-300zx-Z32-Twin-Turbo-Manual-LWB-(UK-Car) If a good example is worth over £10,000 you shouldn’t be able to buy this project for a £2k, it needs a new engine but the rest of it is a good little car. Prices have clearly risen but I’m not sure they’re doing quite what we think.
  2. Sorry yeah, the car Mikes selling is 20k, misread that. Get what your saying Gary and Lee but is it true? Now. Josh Lakes got a very nice freshly imported TT auto for about 6k. There’s a couple of Zs in Road worthy condition for about what they would of been worth 5-6 years ago.
  3. It was a recent consensus that prices for these cars were climbing. However keeping an eye on these things there seems to be stuff about cheaper than what was. For example on eBay there’s more than one TT for about 3k, for a running car with an MOT. On Social Media both Mike Feeney from MJP and Simon from Hide and Seat are selling great cars for not a lot, think Simons car is up for £5k! On here there’s a decent UK spec unsold for £4.5k. Interesting to note the amount of cars not for sale via the club... different topic. Maybe the quoted values were a tad optimistic?
  4. Do you really want it out Chris? Do you have a hoist and a stand?
  5. I just cut the top of the stock duct and extended the centre.
  6. They do come out but they’re a pain in the ass, refitting them is even worse.
  7. The solenoids will be the AIV and a few other bits, looks like it’s been butchered a bit. Personally I’d go through and delete all that nonsense, replacing the small pipes that are left. You should then be able to see the wood for the trees. I assume two of the big four I tercooler pipes are just off due to inspection but it’s not going to run well with them off. Then I’d do a boost leak test, identifying any vaccum leaks, which will no doubt be present. Check and set the Trottle Position Sensor. I would guess the MAF is faulty, but you need to work through logically.
  8. Yeah. I have done what your thinking. So I’ve deleted the Carbon Canister, repacked and relocated the radiator expansion tank, then cut the arch liners to allow the air to pass quickly away from the cooler. I did toy with replacing the washer bottle but in the end I decided that there was a sufficiently clear pathway round it.
  9. In what respect? My cars a long way from factory.
  10. My car has the generic Chinese ones, often branded as Godspeed, Japspeed etc. They are genuinely massive. We found that the stock intercoolers weren’t coping that well at 16psi, a few pulls and the heat soak was evident. I haven’t had chance to retest with the new coolers, I doubt they are significantly better than stock, however they have got to better than 30 year old stock coolers with 30 years of use and abuse. I have butchered the stock ducting and opened the “exhaust” area to allow that heated air to exit as well. I’d update the results but next time the car is dyno’d there will be too many altered variables to be a fair test.
  11. Silly question but I take it you didn’t pinch an o ring or have damage to the insulation blocks that hold the rail did you?
  12. Do you think it’s humor will translate to today’s audiences?
  13. That’s a fair bit of material... definitely metal? Have a look in the intercoolers and see if anything is there. Don’t forget that the Turbos feed the opposing bank. You’ve got a compressor I assume. Do you know anyone with a leak down tester?
  14. I brought a rad from them last year but yeah they have reduced thier range so to speak. Kinda seems mad that after all these years Zcetre still aren’t a sponsor. The likes of Z1 and CPZ as well.
  15. Well they definitely have been here, done group buys etc. Same as Opie Oils. Also gone...
  16. I wonder how larger proportion the current advertisers/sponsors raise towards the costs of the site? Obviously in the past there was money in the kitty, we all remember that buisness. Increased foot fall will help bring in advertisements. We’re have all the traders such as Japspeed gone?
  17. Agree. Some sections of this cannot be replied to by non paying members, which is odd.
  18. There were apparently two big turning points with FB, the change to the wall to target things relivant to you and the like button. Zukerberg was very apposed tobthat like button as he felt it would cause people to simply click without adding to content, the real reward of the like button was it’s ability to collect data about the clicker. Maybe the like button, nice as it is to click doesn’t work for this format?
  19. And I’m not trying to argue. What can I do personally. Well I just made a suggestion of how there should be change to the way funding and membership privileges are done. Personally, personally all I can do is engage further. Historically I’ve done my share I’d say. I could pay my £10 and update my thread... don’t think that’s going to solve the problem though...
  20. 1. You can access this information without being a paid member, there are other huge Forums such as NICO, 300zxclub.com etc. It’s the biggest in the country but that’s the beauty of the internet, it’s global. 2. There are some great people on here, there are some not so great esp in times gone by. I’d say the club has lost as many kind and knowledgeable people as we have anything else. 3. There are a few shows each year, but participance is low, many shows the club have had no formal appearance this year in particular. Local meets no longer exist and if anyone tries to organise no one turns up. 4. Insurance in fairness is cheap anyway for these cars, compared to others and as many are finding out many specialty insurances are failing. Adrian Flux are very uncompetitive. 5. Matter of opinion really... 6. Can’t argue with that. I’m a member a few other clubs for different hobbies. This one is by far the most restrictive to members privileges. Most require a minimum time or post count to be able to sell. Here you can’t even edit your post, let alone post pictures without third party hosting... one is free, straight up for members, the other requires a one off token payment for security. I know membership is cheap but the cost is a perception issue. If you want a suggestion as to how to increase traffic and envolvement it’s to remove the membership cost, relying on other fundraising to maintain the forum. Open up the privileges, make the club THE place to find THAT part. The most successful thread on this site, What did you do... only paid up members can fully engage. An old question and valid point, what makes this a club and not just a website?
  21. It may appear negative but it’s certainly nothing I’ve previously failed to express. Not only am I member of over 9 years, I’m also an REO that’s stood down for some of these reasons and has several owners near him that aren’t engaged in the club anymore for the reasons I point out. It’s an honest question, what benifit does the club give that cannot be gained else where. What’s the unique selling point?
  22. Nothing new. The club continues to inhibit trade and full involvement for all but paying users. Facebook and the like offer higher foot fall and a more stream lined process. What can or does the club offer for a fee? That cannot be had for free elsewhere, in fact you’ve only got to look at the thriving marketplace in those other locations to see what’s going on. It became clear some years ago that the club was becoming merely a website, with ever decreasing numbers of these cars the club has suffered the same fate. Many don’t feel at home here anymore and as said gain nothing from membership, it’s virtually impossible to get a club meet together. The risk of becoming a clique rather than a club is a currrent and real threat.
  23. Mid range at that vs a stock GT-R it doesn’t surprise me. I kept up with one some time back, it was definitely pulling away though. That said, I’ve had a go with one from a low speed roll and it absolutely destroyed me. It’s worth remembering they are just, if not more tunable than a Z32, plenty of 600+hp ones about and your not keeping up with that let alone the heavily modified ones... different league.
  24. About 6” in the actual length of the car, which is less than it looks. Much bulkier though, they weigh the best part of 1.8 tonnes! Whilst they are more powerful, it’s actually only 50hp per tonne more powerful, stock v stock. Which just shows the impressive engineering that allows that tank to accelerate nearly twice as fast to 60.
