I'm after a good condition fan, as mine has some small cracks in it. It's just the fan blades I need and not the viscous part.
  2. I've done a bit of reading on the subject because I was considering fitting it to my Volvo 740. You definitely need a remap to get the full benefit from it. It allows the use of much more ignition advance for a given boost and hence more power.
  3. I used two 750ml aerosols, there are a few sections inside the sills that need to be treated. I got the lance all the way around the rear arches too.
  4. I got it direct from Bilt Hamber, I don't think I've ever seen it in local motor factors. http://www.bilthamber.com/dynax-s50
  5. I used cavity wax for my sills. I found Bilt Hamber dynax s50 got some of the best reviews, so I went with that. It comes in an aerosol with a long tube and it's really easy to use.
  6. Couldn't you take them to the small claims court for a refund?
  7. There should be two switches on the brake pedal, one for the brake lights and one to cancel the cruise control. The brake light switch also cancels the cruise control as an extra failsafe. The cruise control should work correctly with the cruise control switch bypassed, as a result of the brake light switch.
  8. Agreed, he did the front of my zed and the match is spot on. Mine is pearl white and supposedly really difficult to match, too.
  9. Cheers, I think that's what I'll do. I'll save the bracket just in case I change my mind in the future.
  10. Just fitting my new uk style number plate. Does everyone usually get rid of this horrible metal bracket and bond it on?
  11. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?183657-Clearing-out-basement-Parts-for-sale There are some for sale here.
  12. Cheers, it sounds like I've got a job for the weekend!
  13. Thanks, I need to change mine and this is just what I'm after. Can anyone recommend a decent online supplier, or is it best to just go to someone local?
  14. A larger diameter BMC piston will actually give less force at the calipers than a smaller diameter piston for a given pedal pressure.
  15. Couldn't you drag it out of the garage using a tirfor winch or similar? We use them at work, they'll easily drag a car with all four wheels locked. You could then just open the passenger door. You can hire then for about £20 from hss.
  16. http://www.gumtree.com/p/nissan/nissan-300zx-1990-auto-twin-turbo/1144137803 Cheap tt on gumtree if someone fancies a project!
  17. If you map a turbocharged engine to run on higher octane fuel it will make significantly more power than on regular octane fuel. If you then run the engine that is mapped for high octane fuel on lower octane fuel, it won't necessarily make less power, it's just more likely to go bang. How much more likely depends on how 'aggressively' it is mapped. Only Noel could answer that one. Modern cars are more sophisticated and are able to alter ignition timing etc to make the most of whatever fuel they're using.
  18. If you have to use lower octane fuel to get you home, then I wouldn't use full boost. You're increasing the risk of detonation and engine damage if your car was mapped for better quality fuel.
  19. I've got EBC Grooved discs on mine. I don't think there's much to say about them really, other than they haven't warped.
  20. I know, but they're sold by ebc as having cold performance at least equal to OEM pads, but this isn't the case.
  21. I've previously had mintex and found them to be really good on the road. I've got EBC yellowstuff on it now and they don't really bite very well unless you get some heat into them.
  22. Cheers for those, they're all new to me. I'll have a watch when I've got a bit of spare time.
  23. I was lucky in a way. I only came across it recently, so I was able to enjoy the episodes quite close together. I've always liked minis. I really want to restore one, but I need to move and build a decent sized garage first!
  24. Project Binky - The Series: This is well worth a watch if you're into fabrication, this bloke is a genius! Best thing I've seen on YouTube.
  25. I took one of my wheels apart and re-sealed it. I made the mistake of not removing the powder coating between the mating faces when I originally assembled them. They began to leak after a couple of years because the air was getting under the powder coating. Thankfully, this was the last one! A painful lesson learned!
