  1. I did mine a few years ago with Bilt Hamber Dynax S50. It comes in an aerosol with a flexible lance. It's really easy to use and it oozes out of all of the seams, which is ideal. Just make sure you protect your drive!
  2. I would imagine it would be uncomfortably heavy with an uprated tt clutch and no booster. I know mine is really heavy without the engine running.
  3. Very good write up Jeff. I did my front calipers 4 years ago with a seal kit from Bigg Red. I recently inspected them when I was changing the pads and the dust seals had perished! I made sure no oil or anything harmful to rubber came into contact with them. I can only out it down to a poor quality kit.
  4. It turns out I'm missing the brake kill switch. I temporarily bypassed it, just to check and the cruise control worked fine. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
  5. Cheers, I spotted that earlier, it looks quite helpful. I'm going to start checking what I can tomorrow, I've got a spare couple of hours.
  6. All looks to be present and correct under the bonnet. I haven't properly investigated yet, so I don't even know if the ecu is there. I've just been trying to educate myself tonight, I'll look at the ecu tomorrow and get the multimeter out. So not stupid questions at all!
  7. I noticed that they shared a fuse on another thread and that's what made me decide to try and fix it. The fuse was blown originally and I've now replaced it. I still haven't got working reverse lights, but the green cruise control light now illuminates when the button on the side pod is switched on. I've still got no cruise control though.
  8. I wondered about that Si, but being as it was an auto, I assumed it would work without a clutch switch.
  9. The cruise control has never worked on my car. It has been converted from auto to manual prior to me buying it. I've only checked the fuse so far. I wondered if it might just be a case of bridging the wires that go to the auto ecu? Or maybe someone has some other suggestions? My reverse light doesn't work either, and I wondered if this might be related?
  10. I've never seen that before, it looks really useful, cheers.
  11. Mike was really helpful, he spent ages on the phone finding the right part with me. I got rid of a lot of the hoses a few years ago, when I did the plenum bypass. I've got the two heater hoses ready to be fitted.
  12. I thought I would complete this thread, it might be useful in the future for someone. This was the correct hose that i got from MJP.
  13. I've just ordered these from Mike at mjp. I also needed a third hose and he was really helpful working out which one I actually needed.
  14. Thanks for the advice guys. I did try replacing it with a generic hose, but there was a restriction caused by the bend in it, which I wasn't happy with. I'm going to have an educated guess tomorrow morning and order what I think is right.
  15. I spent ages today locating a coolant leak and removing the offending hose. It was a short hose just above the egr valve. I had to remove both of my plenum bypass hoses to get to it. The hose in question is marked in red and it attaches to the pipe I've highlighted. This is what it looks like The question is, does anyone have a clue what it's called, or know a part number? Even looking at diagrams, I'm not exactly sure!
  16. I'm afraid not, but I know it's going to look great! The work you've done to the underside is really impressive. Have you decided what you're doing with the bonnet, yet? I'm sure Alan will have some pictures.
  17. Cheers! I've got a list of small jobs to do to it, I'll add that to the list!
  18. I think in most cases, a car will make less power when running water injection, when compared to the same car running without it. The water actually takes up some of the volume in the cylinder that would have been available for air and fuel. The benefit comes from it allowing a more aggressive map and more boost.
  19. It's common to use a water menthol mix, it offers even greater knock resistance than straight water with the potential for more power.
  20. I've looked into water injection for my old Volvo and I've heard of all three systems you mention, but I've got no experience with them. It's a great way of making more power, I can't believe how little it's used over here. You'll definitely need it mapping to get the benefit. You can run a lot more ignition advance for a given boost level. No doubt you probably know all this!
  21. I bumped my car a few weeks ago and Alan has done a great job of repairing it, the colour match is spot on. I had the wing and spoiler sprayed by someone else, a few years ago and it was never right. The paint got slowly worse as time passed, too. He even washed it for me afterwards! I saw Hollings' car there, that's going to be amazing when it's finished!
