I now have the parts to complete my manual conversion, the donor parts are from an NA, I need to understand how to wire up the ASCD cancel switch for the clutch , can anyone help,

What is odd is that the black switch on the brake pedal was removed ( ASCD cancel switch )and the wires joined together , yet the cruise control still engages correctly and cancels correctly when I press the brake pedal, in other words all works fine , but to my mind it shouldn't. what is going on !

I have also looked at the diagrams previously posted and the donor NA pedal has a white switch which I assume is the ASCD switch to be wired in, however the diagrams suggest that it should be a black switch

Im confused , is anyone out their experienced or clever enough to help me pls,

the switch you need should be "Normally Open" closed when clutch pedal in the very most up position

now on some models the plugs n loom isnt there so you can Daisy chain the switch in to the Brake switch for the CC

that way if u press the clutch it will cancel like it does on the brake

okay , and im really sorry for being dumb , but with the switch on the clutch pedal, when my foot is off the clutch and the pedal is in its normal position, should I have a circuit through the switch or not

so that will be opposite to the brake pedal switch which uses a white switch . The white switch creates a circuit when the brake pedal is pressed. for the clutch I need to use a black switch ?? which will break the circuit and disable the cruise when the clutch pedal is pressed?.

that is the strange thing , the old cruise control switch located on the brake pedal failed , so I connected the two wires permanently together, However the Cruise control STILL cancels correctly when I press the brake pedal, how can this be ?

There should be two switches on the brake pedal, one for the brake lights and one to cancel the cruise control.

The brake light switch also cancels the cruise control as an extra failsafe. The cruise control should work correctly with the cruise control switch bypassed, as a result of the brake light switch.
