  1. Do a search on here for them, think Gio has posted a load of links before that said basically that they are 'unproven' (being polite).... Stick to Optimax!
  2. And the winner of the drunken debauchery award goes to... Bee Gee Vinz  The two tone zed (James300's?) is absolutely stunning though, fair play for not going with the flow.
  3. Biggest problem with the UK spec cars is rust due to the salt on the roads in the winter. Particularly around rear sills and rear wheel arches. Also check them underneath as well. Mine was going rusty in these areas but it only cost me about £200 for repairing and respraying the areas. Apart from that the problems for UK and Jap cars are the same... Hope this helps Gareth
  4. No aftermarket dials (no after market anything!!)...
  5. I am pretty sure that the gauge itself isn't stuck, I think its either something to do with the float in the tank or the electrical connection. Another effin job for the weekend then! Thanks for the assistance guys...
  6. Don't bother with Halfords, their paint matching ability is sh*te (as I found out). Go to a proper motor factors or spray paint specialists. Gareth
  7. Noticed last night that my fuel gauge has stopped moving (its stuck just below 1/2 full). Anyone has this problem before and what was the solution? Cheers, Gareth
  8. Yup, do a rebuild. I think you can get the kit from Mike at MJP (traders section). Theres also a write up on how to do it on twinturbo.net... http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/caliperrebuild/caliperrebuild.html
  9. Thanks for all the suggestions chaps. I think I'm going to go for the i-trip option though, I can't use a cassette adaptor as all 3 cars have cd head units. If I was keeping in one car I would hard wire it, but as the missus has her collection of 'chart poo' on the i-pod she want to be able to use it in her car too. Cheers :duffer: Gareth
  10. Mine is totally stock except for the hi-fi and also for some reason both of the rear (UK spec) wheels are left hand ones  I would never describe mine as being the best stock one though in a million years! :D
  11. Yes, I've put a message in Mikes trader section, just trying other avenues as well as I am desperate...had to drive the car yesterday not knowing how hot it was getting! Very worrying considering the current weather.
  12. Does anyone have the parts manual for the 300ZX?. I need to buy a sensor but Courtesy parts website and my local Nissan dealer have given me different numbers. The sensor is the temperature gauge sensor (the one next to the yellow ecu temperature sensor on the front water pipe). Courtesy list it as being 25080-TPGSR but my local dealer have given me a part number of 22630-51E00. Who is right  Anyone???
  13. Is anyone using one of those FM transmitter thingys to play their i-pod through the car stereo? I'm thinking about getting one as I have 3 cars (and only 1 i-pod) but don't know how good the reception/sound quality is likely to be. I'm not looking for super duper quality but I would hope that it should be equivalent to listening to a FM radio station at least... Cheers
  14. I'm normally quite a skeptic but this is difficult not to believe!?!?
  15. Feel for you mate, just had to have both of mine done. Needed loads of welding to sort out. Yours isn't a UK car by any chance...?
  16. Unless like me, you buy a members car and spend nearly a grand just putting faults and bodywork right... :headvswal
  17. Read my post again - I never said they were bad did I? All I said was that I seriously doubt they are the worlds best loudspeaker. Organisations like Monitor Audio have the benefit of many years experience, more stringent testing and quality control and greater financial resources to put into research & development. Although I have no experience of the Resolution speakers (which is why I didn't say they were bad), I have to be somewhat cynical when a new company enters a marketplace and makes such a bold claim as to be the the manufacturers of the worlds best product in its chosen marketplace...
  18. Dont want to rain on your parade but when I hear that the worlds best loudspeakers are available for only £1200, I have to do some research. Read this interesting post on an audio forum, which includes comments from the manufacturer. I must admit they look like 6x9 car speakers to me.. http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/HUG/messages/63619.html Just my opinion but I would imagine the manufacturers of the real worlds best loudspeaker have been at it a long time and charge way more than £1200 for their products. Also, more feedback from a visitor to the Bristol hifi show: Hope I am not too late to add to this thread but did anyone go into the Resolution Loudspeaker room? I did and was amazed that someone planted a poor quality automotive 6x9 three way loudspeaker into a Kapellmeister transmission line enclosure....and then asked £1200 for the pleasure of owning them!!! I was not sure if i should shout at the guys for being so cheeky or to shake their hands for a brilliant money making idea!!!!! The room display was equally amusing.....4:3 tv "showing" the loudspeaker response that was using a cheap spl meter as the microphone, and if i remember, has a limited mic freq response (i used to have one),connected with a poor quality phono lead with a connector block in the phono line......beyond me. I would like to know if anyone thought the sound of these loudspeakers were worth £1200.....because the finish of the cabinets were not!!! Gareth (part time hifi buff)
  19. Love this picture...
  20. Have to say that driving the extra miles to see Bob is worthwhile. He spent nearly a week with my car trying to solve an electrical fault - now all ok, also sorted me out with a letter for my insurance company to confirm what alarm system I had when I bought the car (didn't charge me for this either).
  21. As someone who has lost a member of my family before their time, I would be willing to chip in if I can...
  22. Gareth B replied to a post in a topic in Events - UK
