  1. Ouch! Erm... just out of interest, it wasn't a new Range Rover Sport with really dark tinted windows was it?
  2. This must be one of the oddest Nirvana covers ever: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4559510005057780538 I was actually searching for the original version, which is also available on Google video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5728729979530798225 Cheers, Bart
  3. Your car was parked up by the Newmarket Road/Elizabeth Way roundabout when I cycled past earlier this evening. In front of what (I think) might be student accomodation of some sort.
  4. Yeah, I get it all the time too, although not as much as I used to... think people are used to my zed round here now as there aren't many of them (which reminds me, I saw another one this evening, must get over to "was it you"). Cambridge is barry boy central nowadays. Maybe it always was, but I've only been here four years or so. Was really surprised at the *unbelievable* number of boyracers knocking around the town centre at the weekends. Anyway, plenty of "no, your Polo won't beat my car just because you've got neons" type action to be had round here if you're after it.
  5. Yeah, that must have been a fairly horrible moment. Glad you got it sorted.
  6. That's not a helpful thing to know. Gutted.
  7. There was a thread about the US stuff a few weeks back. Don't be fooled by the low octane number. Their octane number is not the same as RON, so their 93 octane fuel really is super.
  8. All right, all right! I know white isn't everybody's thing, but I think it really suits the zed (when clean). Really makes the car stand out. I didn't realise it had been around for that long, I still check AT every so often but have despaired in recent months since everything that turns up on their seems to lack that special spark I like (unlike the above). Kind of makes me wish I'd waiting a bit longer, not that there's anything wrong with my TT, but it would be nice if it had been fully kitted as I don't have the money to do that myself. But hey, you live and learn, and I'm very happy anyway. ARGH! I've just noticed. '99 spec lights as well. Honestly, if I wasn't buying a house. I think I need to angle for a serious pay rise.
  9. That's fantastic. Shame you'd get sued if you tried it over here.
  10. Yeah, agreed. Although unfortunately that seems to go with the territory a lot of the time. Still, if I was in the market I'd definitely go and take a look at this one.... and I'd take the trusty 13 page checklist from the FAQ section as before. Very useful thing that, whoever put it in there was a genius.
  11. Quite like the look of this one: http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/CARS_popup.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=NISSAN&model=300+ZX&variant=&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=10000&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=cb4+2as&miles=1500&max_records=200&source=0&photo=1&sort=5&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH&start=6&distance=136&adcategory=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200626100693567 Always wanted pearl white. Just change the spoiler on this and job's a good 'un.
  12. Nigeria - now there's a country that needs a firewall around it: to keep their internet traffic away from the rest of the world rather than filtering everybody else's traffic out. Not being racist, but I'm pretty sick and tired of these scams as well, many of which seem to originate from there. All eBay needs to do is set up some sort of black list with the IP address subnets in Nigeria and just ignore the lot.
  13. FWIW I think it looks great. I don't think you should get a carbon fibre bonnet as carbon fibre always looks cheap and nasty IMO (although in fact extremely expensive). Expensive things should look it, they shouldn't look cheap and tatty, and since you're doing this for the look of the thing I think you should avoid it. The only thing I might change about your car is to add a decent spoiler to it, maybe the Monza or something, at least something where the slope of the spoiler matches the slope on the bottom of your rear bumper. Lowering it might do the trick as well, but bear in mind you're going to have to worry about speed bumps a lot. You may not even be able to make it over some of them. Anyway, what do I know? Hope you get it sorted. Cheers, Bart
  14. Looked at the title and thought it was for real for a second there. Nice one.
  15. Mate, you just need to buy yourself another one. It is pretty cool at the moment, it has to be said: definitely the best weather for owning a zed.

OK, OK, I don't normally wade into things like this, and I'm probably going to get a mauling but... What, like World War II you mean? (Although it could possibly be argued that Hitler's view of a "new world order", for want of a better phrase, could be regarded as religious in some sense.) Or how about WWI? *Definitely* nothing to do with religion there. Very political in fact. Or the Falklands? Not even slightly religious. Hey, what about the first Gulf War? Yet again, not religious. Korea? Political reasons. Vietnam? Ditto. That's six, not one. And I could go on. I'm sorry, but your assertion is rubbish, and it always will be. People can find plenty of reasons for killing eachother without needing to add religion into the equation, although clearly religion is yet another thing that people can and have fought over. And in any case, a religious justification can be used in situations where then end is in fact political or economic, as can many other justifications. Some would argue that Gulf War II falls into this category, but that's not a can of worms I really want to open here.
  17. Gee thanks! Now it's going round in my head too!!!! :slap: Seriously, I remember them. They were great fun. Jet Pac was the first computer game I ever played on my cousin's rubber-keyed Spectrum. Never really played Jet Set Willy, but Manic Miner was a big favourite. Can't quite believe that was all over 20 years ago now. Must be getting old. :(
  18. Best thread I've read so far today.
  19. Also agree with that. (You might remember my rant from a couple of weeks ago.) Only way to get sensible results is to search over a much larger area than you're interested in, then everything added in the last 24 hours to make the search results manageable.
  20. Tell me about it. The ones I'm dealing with are really eager if they want something from you, but try to get them to do something... grr.
  21. Yep, Optimax is about the same here. TBH though I'm not convinced about the benefits of Tesco RON 99 versus Optimax. I think my car works better with the latter, although admittedly that could be down to higher turnover at the garage meaning the fuel is in better condition when I fill up than the Tesco stuff, at least based on what I read in one of the threads on here a week or two back.
  22. *Nice* car! Really like that mate. Very bold styling but not overdone. Really suits the car. Excellent!
  23. According to this: http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html I'd say the answer is probably yes. HTH, Bart
  24. Er yeah, that sounds about right actually. TTs are absolutely appalling for fuel around town. Cheaper to buy a second car tbh, as long is it's a £200 shunter or something.
