cosworth powered fiesta. very nice
Yeah, now that's a bit more like it. Mk I Escort is cool. Just not a fan of the Mk I Fiesta, although I can appreciate the amount of time/effort that's gone into it. I'm sure it's great fun to drive but still looks... well, like a Mk I Fiesta really. :nelson:

Clio V6
Interesting. I'd always assumed they were good/fast/desirable, although I'd never get one, but that's simply because I don't think I'd buy another Renault after the last one decided that everything starting to go wrong at once after five years/70k miles was a good idea.

Very quiet in here these days...
Didn't know about your zed. How's the Supra? You gone for the sequential turbo 6-speed manual option? Would love one of those. Might even make it my next car if I can afford it.

Very quiet in here these days...
I dunno. A lot of the more established members aren't posting as much any more... plus there was a bit of aggro during/after JAE, although I wasn't there so can't comment, and please don't everyone jump on me for mentioning it. It does seem quieter in here though, but whether it's a direct result of that or not... well I think it has something to do with it, but that's obviously open to debate.

Clio V6
Seriously... er, so what's the point in the V6 version then? (Sorry.) I guess the RWD is a bonus, but apart from that...

NZR.........Good day, bad day !!
Nice 'vette. Only thing with the C4 is I'm not so sure about the KITT style digital dash, but they're nice cars. Actually considered getting one when I was looking for my zed. May still happen one day.

Was there some informal Cambridge Asda meet or something?
Saw SWB black N/A J reg with black/silver front number plate and *massive* exhausts heading North on Coldhams Lane around 1pm today. I was the guy on the bike who cheekily nipped across the road at the traffic lights before the railway bridge. You went over the bridge and turned left into the Asda/Beehive Centre car park at the roundabout. Literally 1 minute after you turned off saw a blue LWB auto (not sure if N/A or TT) heading South towards the same roundabout. Think it might have turned into the Asda car park as well, but couldn't see clearly.

sooo fed up.
If it's any consolation Gaz I know exactly how you feel.

Clio V6
Very quick car indeed.

dare you take... the GEEK test?
Unsuprisingly I'm pretty far gone: 27.41617%... and hey, I quoted that to seven significant figures so it must be serious.

Is This Anyones Here
I would have thought either is easy to donut. My TT was certainly no problem the one time I tried it in Somerfield car park.

Is This Anyones Here
I had to stop watching: the cameraman's high pitched cackling got to be just a bit too much.

NZR Anyone ever kept Birds of Prey?
You have an owl?!? Is there any leftfield pet you don't own? Respect is due.

A 300ZX Was born....
Ah OK. You might be OK with your flights by then. BA are (or at least were) saying back to relatively normal within 48 hours or so. Don't know what the score is with other airlines.

A 300ZX Was born....
Nice one. BTW, aren't you supposed to be in California at the moment?

NZR russian mail order women
 LOL. You might very well think that. Perhaps you can point it out to some of the girls I know. Seriously I'm pretty sure the bloke three doors up from me did a similar thing, although he's never said as much (we usually just talk about cars) except she's from the Czech Republic (I think), in that he's in his 40s, and has this very attractive wife/partner who's around 25, or maybe a little older. Seems to be working out for them, although I think it's probably not something I'd try.

BA halts all Flights from UK
Nice one.

attn old gits
Y'know I think they still show that advert occassionally: I saw it a couple of years ago at my parents house one time when I was visiting. I thought at the time it was a bit odd because I remembered seeing it as a kid myself. Turns out it's been around since 1988. Longest lived TV ad ever?

This looks interesting!
Certainly does. I'd be very interested to watch somebody else driving it.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROYAL"
Aye, a bit related from me as well. Happy birthday!

Had a hippy moan at me today 'Your car is so polluting'
Which I think is pretty much where I stand. You can moan at me about driving when there's a realistic and workable alternative, and at the moment there largely isn't. I'm just lucky enough to be within cycling distance of work. My first software job was for a company in Abbotsbury, about 10 miles or so from where I was living in Dorchester. At the time I didn't have a car, and didn't go into the office every day because it took (no joke) over an hour and a half to get there using a combination of train and bus. I could almost literally have walked there quicker. So then I got a car and it took between 15 and 20 minutes. And call me Mister Picky, but I really do kind of expect comparable performance from public transport if I'm going to use it. As an example, from completely the opposite end of the spectrum, Cambridge to Kings Cross takes 50 minutes on the train. Add another 25 minutes for me to get to the station and we're talking an hour and a quarter. I guarantee that without a police escort, or doing it at 3am, it would take an awful lot longer to do that by car. Consequently if I need to go to London I almost never drive.

Had a hippy moan at me today 'Your car is so polluting'
It's not the protesting that bothers me so much, I mean who after all really wants a massive bypass going through their backyard? But this guy swampy isn't even from Newbury, or anywhere near it, is he?

Pedestrians are retards
You think pedestrians are bad, you should try cyclists. The only thing that saved a highly unobservant pimply 15-year-old lad from being mown down by me two days ago was my youth misspent playing computer and video games in order to develop superfast superhuman reactions. I still have no idea how he failed to notice the large, wide, black, roaring monolith that is my zed bearing down on him (at lunchtime in broad daylight) as he dropped off the kerb less than 10 yards in front of me. Stopped less than 2 feet from him. You should have seen his face though, it was priceless.
