NZR - what's going on with the weather?
Fair point, looks like it'll either be the women with the donuts or the hotel.

Oh blow it, I just can't hold it in any longer: "OranjeBOOM, OranjeBOOM, it's a lager, not a tune/OranjeBOOM, the order of the day/OranjeBOOM, OranjeBOOM, it's a lager, not a tune/So get your lips around a pint today" (Sorry)

Back to Breakaway: are you sure you're right about the whole X thing? I managed to find this: http://www.headington.org.uk/adverts/chocolate_sweets.htm which mentions an awful lot of ads from the last 50 years, but it doesn't mention anything about that in the "Breakaway" section (about half way down).

I dunno, I quite liked the Blackcurrant Tango advert with the boxing ring and the harriers over the white cliffs of Dover: "Come on Sebastian!" I only actually ever saw it once on TV and then eventually found it on t'internet last year. I imagine it was banned almost immediately for excessive jingoism or somesuch nonsense.

NZR - what's going on with the weather?
I wouldn't bank on it mate. When I flew into LA last year passengers on connecting flights had to go through the whole rigmarole over again. Everyone, and I mean, everyone had to go through US customs with all their baggage and everything. They do like to make a bit of a meal of it.

I've been meaning to buy a copy of that album for years, and I really don't know why I haven't. You've inspired me. I'm getting it.

Yeah, well I'm good at being bad with women. I've developed it into a fine art, to the point where I seriously doubt there's anyone better at being bad with women than me, but that's by the by. I reckon you'll be OK with your connecting flight as long as your flight from the UK leaves on time. Hopefully they're getting on top of things a bit more. Funnily enough I almost went to the US this week myself but decided against it on the grounds of impending deadlines (it was a work trip to see some Microsoft people, and I'm buggered if I'm going to fly all the way to Seattle for just three days without being able to tack some holiday onto it). Quite glad it didn't come off in the weekend. Seriously though mate, I don't think you need to worry too much. If there's a delay at this end and you miss your connection I imagine your airline will see you right. They seem to be pretty good about things like this.

I remember Breakaway, but the only slogan I remember is "Don't take away my Breakaway!"

NZR - what's going on with the weather?
 No mate, I doubt it. Regrettably I managed to generate precisely no interest whatsoever amongst the female population of California. Somewhat to my relief I also managed to generate no interest amongst the male population either.

Shame there was nobody around to take a picture of me with the car, but you get the idea.

Mendocino county. Halfway between Willits and Fort Bragg. If you take the weird skunk train thing you actually pass the camp.

Whoops, I take that last comment back. Hadn't noticed it was 80 megs and is coming down at 480KB/sec. I think NTL have given us a teeny bit of an upgrade recently.

Whoa! If I'm driving down the motorway at 2am the last thing I want is relaxing!!! I'm a windows down stereo blaring kind of guy at that time of the morning. Just downloading now. It's a bit slow, which I blame you lot all for. ;)

Yeah, well I worked out why they're so big on automatic weapons: most of them can't hit a thing without using something that sprays bullets all over the place.

Have fun Si. I'm extremely jealous. Managed a bit of a road trip in the States last year. Spent some time in California and then drove a very indirect route across to Dallas for a Microsoft trade show. Not entirely convinced I could live there, but it was cool. If you can get up there I'd recommend driving the Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Some really beautiful scenery, and some very hairy drops. Wished I had the zed with me when I did it last year: actually drove it in a Chrysler Sebring convertible, which isn't too bad at all (very comfortabl), but it's no zed and does tend to lurch sideways across the road in a very unsettling manner when you fling it round bends. Anyway, like I say, I'm jealous.

No kidding? I worked on a summer camp up there in 1995... teaching kids from the San Francisco ghettos how to shoot. :smw:

I though August was supposed to be particularly warm this year, but it's so cold in here at the moment I've just had to put the central heating on. Anybody else had to do this?

What *is* that thing?

worst ive seen yet
I hate it, but no, it's not the worst. It looks like it's been done pretty well, although I don't think I'd be seen dead in it. The worst is that primered up grey zed with the unbelievably wide bodykit that keeps getting reposted on here.

99-spec rear wing. What's your opinion on them?
I think it'll look great on your car. Pearl white is probably my favourite zed colour and if I could have found one in that colour when I was buying that was in decent nick I would have gone for it.
