  1. Agreed side skirts work well, but don't think you should go Veilside (sorry Gaz). I think you need chunkier front/rear bumper to go with them as well. Don't you just love other people spending your money for you? ;)
  2. Yes, I'm sorry: 350Z owners, your car is insufficiently fast. We reign supreme.
  3. Nice car... but does it go round corners? And what's the 0-60 and top speed. I mean 400 hp is OK, but if it weighs 2.5 tonnes it's hardly likely to set the world aflame. Needs a supercharged or TT model to sort it out. But even with that, if it doesn't handle well then no thanks (still looks nice though).

Well.... just to be different, I like it. I'd say if you like 'em go for 'em.
  5. Absolutely: you've just admitted guilt so there's no need for proof (I think).
  6. Agreed, I'd rather chew my own legs off than end up on there.
  7. That's really amazing. Just shows you what you can do with these instruments (if you practice for about 8 years solidly)... that kid was unbelievable.
  8. Now that's what I call a sleeper. Oh how I'd love to waste a few high powered cars in that baby.
  9. Sorry to here that bud. Just seen the pics. Glad you're all right... at the end of the day it's just a car, and you can always get another one in the future if you want to. Main thing is you're in one piece. Bart
  10. I agree. Even the Lithuanians were better than us... about the only song that was worse than ours was the French, probably not helped by the persistently flat singing of the lady in question. One of the funniest Eurovisions I've seen in ages though. We did the whole Eurovision party and after initially thinking "what am I doing here on a Saturday night?!?" I laughed so much I nearly threw up when the Latvians came on with their a cappella number. And the image of the guy dressed up as an orc at the end with the massive bunch of flowers... it was great.
  11. Yeah, he did OK considering he got dropped right in it. Poor bloke. You have to laugh though. Like you said, his expression at the beginning is an absolute classic!
  12. Hmm... starting to sound like we might have enough for a GB on these things. Couldn't believe it, just picked up a copy of the local paper and was confronted by a large pic of that blond, er, woman on about page 12. I mean, it's not as if she even lives round here... at least I don't think she does.
  13. Nah, it's rubbish (thankfully). They got his age wrong in any case: he's 37 (born January 14th 1969).
  14. Big Brother, in case you hadn't guessed. Between this and the World Cup I'm about ready to move to Mongolia. :wack:
  15. That second one is pretty much a sleeper. Must have whupped so many people of the lights with it.
  16. 8 cars, a coach, and a couple of lorries. Found out at the end of the overtake that they were all stuck behind this old guy doing 35 - 40 mph. I'd already driven about 300 miles that day and had around another 200 to go before I got home so wasn't in the mood for being messed around at all. That's going back about 5 years and at the time I was driving a 1.6 Clio.

I think I'm from pretty much the same school of thought. I hardly ever drive right up anybody's arse unless they've really got up my nose... probably the last time I did that was going up to Manchester last month. It's not so much slow/careful driving that annoys me as hesitancy: roundabouts, junctions, changing lanes etc. I don't really do people who can't use their indicators either. But rarely will I say anything or make any gestures... just overtake at the first opportunity. Occasionally I've been known to undertake if someone's really wound me up... and it's at times like that that "lane discipline" really gets up my nose. People don't realise that one cuts both ways: (i) you're only supposed to overtake on the right, (ii) if you're *not* overtaking anything you should be in the left-most possible lane on a multi-lane carriageway. If you don't do both of the above then you're not following proper lane discipline anyway so don't get arsey if I get fed up and go round the inside.
  18. That's kind of interesting... not really my bag, but interesting nonetheless.
  19. Actually, I'm sure there's a post somewhere on here where somebody posted the real values and not just guesses, but not sure where it is. Cheers, Bart
  20. These are just guesses, but my observations (for a TT) are as follows, and assuming your rev limiter kicks in at 6800ish: 1st - not sure 2nd - ~70 mph 3rd - ~100 mph 4th - ~128 mph 5th - ~186 mph (theoretical - in reality if you've been delimited and everything's running fine, around 170 mph I believe). HTH, Bart
  21. Yeah I know, but it still might change gear on you at an inconvenient moment. Sorry this isn't a dis of the zed autobox at all, which I've heard is very good. I just don't like/trust automatics. I'll drive them, and I do like them in very heavy traffic, but generally I'm not a fan. Just my opinion though, I know some people love them, and that's fine, and I'm not saying they're wrong to like them.
  22. Well... it's easy to say what he should/shouldn't have done. But fair play to the guy: he didn't hit anyone else, and no-one was injured (apart from a few scratches on him). Mind you, that's another very good reason I wouldn't touch an auto if given the choice (sorry). With a manual you can just pop it into neutral, and if *that* doesn't work all you've got to do is depress the clutch and you've cut off all power transfer to the wheels.... OK, so the engine will then rev until it blows itself to smithereens, but who cares? The main thing is to walk away from it. Only problem is you mind find yourself in a situation where you don't have time to react because you don't realise what's happened until too late. :-S
  23. Uh, yeah, except it doesn't: for example, it's completely incapable of changing down two gears in *anticipation* of making a maneuver. An auto *will* drop two gears, but only after you're committed having floored the accelerator. No thanks. Whereas a manual, you just stick in the gear you want in preparation, a gap opens up in the oncoming traffic, and you're away.
  24. Oh no... don't ask that! Seriously, go for whichever one you fancy. I went for a manual but that's just because I'm not a fan of automatic boxes generally, and nothing against the one in the zed in particular.
