  1. Bit of an update here.... I did some reading around, listened to some samples, increased my budget, and generally got somewhat more serious about the whole thing. Have just bought myself a late Korg Trinity Pro 76-key workstation synth for £470 from eBay. Price is pretty much in line with sales of same model of keyboard over the past few months (I did check first), albeit at the high end, which I guess is probably down to it having 76 keys rather than the standard 61. Should be arriving in a couple of days or so. Must say I think I'm going to be more than happy with this, the only problem really being where to put it. I also thought about getting a Korg Triton, since you'd think it'd be loads better being more recent etc (it's certainly more £££), but whereas virtually all the Trinity reviews I read absolutely raved about it, a lot of the Triton reviews rated it as mediocre so I decided to save a few quid and go for the Trinity in the end. Thanks again for all the help and advice, particularly from Si. Cheers, Bart
  2. Looks like it might be a nice one: http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/CARS_popup.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=NISSAN&model=300+ZX&variant=&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=10000&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=cb4+2as&miles=1500&max_records=200&source=0&photo=1&sort=5&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH&start=6&distance=126&adcategory=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200618234216444 Nice kit, and pearl white (I think) which was my original first choice colour. Anyone know anything about it?
  3. My goodness! Unbelievable. Glad you made it out of that one! I have a bike (albeit of the pedal variety which is unusually common here), and can vouch for a similar amount of doziness amongst certain drivers.... mind you, only because I was hovering my foot over the brake in anticipation (sometimes you can just tell people are going to be stupid) I managed to avoid smashing into a Mondeo that pulled out in front of me earlier, and that was in the zed, which is pretty hard to miss in broad daylight! Bottom line is that there are some people who simply should never be allowed within 50 feet of the controls of any kind of vehicle, whether it's car, or bike, or anything else for that matter. Just plain dangerous.
  4. Ouch!! Seen quite a few bikes with those lights on round here: certainly means nobody can claim they can't see you coming. Thinking of investing in some myself. How much were they if you don't mind me asking?
  5. Agreed.... but fortunately in this case it does look redeemable as it's just a bunch of crappy stickers and a questionable boot build. Assuming everything else on the car's OK of course. Personally I'm not a fan of that style of front bumper although I know a few people on here have it.
  6. Oh yeah, love the way the exhaust flames out on the gear-changes. That'll teach people not to tailgate you... not that that's really going to be a problem anyway. Sounds like a jet engine when it spins down as well. I definitely want it.
  7. Yeah, don't worry about it mate. I've had this happen to me as well. You won't get a ticket for it. Actually happened today as well when I got flashed by a camera facing me... I was doing 40 in a 40 through roadworks on the A14. They do like to give you a scare though.
  8. I dunno, I think some motorsport is good to watch... but not F1 - it's deadly dull.
  9. I think I speak for us all, when I say: git!!! Glad you, the zed, and the biker are OK. :)
  10. You can see it on this vid briefly at the beginning (either that or its twin brother). Fancy the black one later is good off the line but not so good at higher speeds since both cars are gaining on it, or at least appear to be, by the time it crosses the line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iiE8a7Ay44&search=CarAreOK So what do people reckon it'll go for then? Must admit I don't think it'll make much more than its start bid, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, FWIW: £25k.
  11. Also it'd need adjustable shocks around here: pretty much impossible to get around the place without encountering speed bumps.
  12. Very nice. Body mods haven't been overdone either, and if you don't like 'em you can always remove the stickers. 0-60 in 2.6 seconds!!!!!!!! Isn't that faster than the Veyron? Dread to think what the mpg is like though... and I can't afford to run two cars, and for sure can't afford to insure that monster. It'd be nice though.
  13. Sorry, had to edit that. I can't spell.
  14. True, and I think it even had a boost leak at the time? Maybe someone else can confirm this? At any rate, from first hand experience I can definitely say the 300ZX TT is faster than the 350Z. :)
  15. Ummm... yeah, I'm quite a fan of weird beers, but this might be a bridge too far. Keep my eye out for it though. Worth trying just for a laugh.
  16. Might be an urban legend, but going back about 10 years now I found out you couldn't use "s c u n thorpe" (no spaces obviously) in email addresses for the same reason: emails with swear-words in weren't permitted (probably still aren't), and that would just send all the filters ballistic.
  17. Slashdot article links to video of the car: http://slashdot.org/articles/06/05/05/019215.shtml Shame it's the new care bear version of the car though. Also be nice to see some footage of it on a drag strip.
  18. The EU have legislation for the slope angle of the front windscreen on cars?!?? You're kidding right? Somebody please remind me why we're a member again.
  19. Ouch! Not good. Always best to just ignore the provocation... although I can't say I always have or do. Agree about Imprezas though: the 0 - 60 is pretty impressive but they're not hard to beat (even with a clutch on the way out).
  20. Yep, good read indeed! Cheers for that. Suspect the tunability problem with the VD30DETT is, as much as anything else, down to having to do everything twice (effectively), and the fact that you have to pull the engine completely to do anything major because of the appalling accessibility of the turbos.
  21.
  22. Just a flare so far... oh and what looked like some alien creature the other day stuck to one of the exhaust pipes about half way back. On closer inspection it turned out to be a plastic carrier bag that had got caught on the underside of the car and had melted into some weird insectoid shape.
  23. Get rid of the wing and that would be a whole lot better. Not to impressed with the wide-arse kit either... looks a bit out of proportion. Other than than very nice.
