Zed garaged since October, I miss it!
I try not to use the car for mundane stuff - but there was no way I was driving to scotland (where I am now) in my Clio. Took the car for a spin this morning, was just thinking to myself how nice it was. Obviously you can't give it full beans in this weather, but even at 50% it's still a lovely car to drive. Picked my old man up on the way up here - my dad quite enjoys a trip in the zed too. He was a bit bemused how quickly we managed the journey, despite the zed not breaking sweat. Just a great, relaxed cruiser. Roll on spring though, bit of sunshine would be nice!

I'm back in Jap!!!
Always liked these cars - the Aristo is rare as rocking horse shit, but the N/A is a way safer bet. Really hope this motor works out for you! J-Tin = Win!!!

Psycho alert!!
Hey, PLEASE CONSULT ME BEFORE PUTTING MY PRIVATE MESSGAES ON LINE... That's bang out of order, Normally I have 100% success rate after the 1st message, the only reason this didn't work was because the women was 'pre-op' and therefor not representative of the usual norm. Moderators: please delete this thread - it is an invasion of my personal privacy.. Janus: are you ex-directory? I'm having problems finding your voicemail.. call me (now!)

couple of jobs done today
Car's looking awesome, as ever Paul! Is it me, or is it half an inch too high at the front??? I'm nit-picking of course, glad to hear you'll be using it during the winter - hopefully we'll not be way-laid by snow again this year. Good work fella

There's a R34 Nür Spec on Skyline owners forum. 70,000. That's not the mileage - that's how much he wants for it. Totally standard too. Mental.

wife paid off
I concurr absolutely, they can't just get rid without giving appropriate warning first. Unless it was gross misconduct, but I doubt that 'under performing' counts as gross misconduct. The very fact that they are being paid off made me raise an eyebrow. If someone is no good, then you sack them fair and square. Why say 'Ok, we're gonna have to let you go, but here's some extra money first'? Reeks of piss if you ask me. Then again, when you're wetting the babies head with the payout after you've successfully pulled their pants down in court (if it even got that far) and landed a fat compo cheque, then I guess you'll look back on this day as a good day. Give 'em hell, fella

Really fast....
As Roobarb said, if you wanna go as fast as possible for 5k, you'll have to buy a bike. 1000 quid buys you enough machine to out strip any 50k modded jap street fighter. You could spend the other 4 grand on some nice leathers and a coffin.. Reckon my next toy will be a bike-powered caterham copy. Was looking a few weeks ago and 8k buys a pretty shit-hot outfit. OK, top speed is pretty pathetic (circa 120-130mph) but the acceleration and roadholding are where it's really at. The thing is though, when your arse is 2 inches off the ground and you're catching flies in your teeth, it feels twice as quick as it actually is. Just a thought.

Earth like planet found
Artificial gravity? What is this? I thought it was just something invented for star trek, just so they didn't have everyone floating around on set all the time? You do realise star trek is fiction don't you?

HD ready and full HD difference
Is it also correct that the smaller the TV the better the visual quality? I know everyone is obsessed with inches (and particularly men), but would a smaller screen make the picture even better?

Earth like planet found
From what I understand, once we get a handle on anti-matter and the aforementioned higgs boson, then pretty much most of the universe is a possible fuel supply, that weighs... nothing! That said, it seems highly unlikely that we are just on the edge of the big break through, but maybe one day that will come. Regardinging the acceleration point though - don't you need gravity to experience G-force? Surely in space you would be completely unaware of any acceleration, physically at least? What we really need is to fire someone into a black hole and see what happens.. Where's Zedzilla when you need him?? :tt2:

Earth like planet found
In a universe which is almost infinite, I find it unsurprising that there are earth-like planets out there. Who'd have thought it?! I'm also 99% sure they will contain life - be it simple single-cell bacteria, or more complex life forms. That shouldn't be a surprise either: it's happened here, it can happen somewhere else. Regarding travelling 600 lightyears; I think the solution could be closer than what we think. It may take another few hundred years, for us to fully understand and harness the power of the universe (or manipulate it to our advantage), but once achieved travelling huge distances more quickly will be possible - though not necessarily at the speed of light. The problem with travelling at that speed, as Hollowpoint touched on, is that a particle the size of a grain of sand would have the impact energy of an atomic bomb. One thing is certain though - eventually our species will have to leave Earth, either due to some cataclysmic event or our Sun running out of fuel. Assuming we don't fook things up before then.

Calling all Female Z Drivers ....
AH! A good point well put! However, the reality of motorway driving these days is, that if you wait patiently in the correct lane, inevitably the inner lanes are near empty whilst 1 car half a mile ahead holds everyone up by not overtaking the car in the next lane. I'm pretty sure no-one on this forum sits in the middle lane (I hope)!

Tyre choice.....
Ha, now I don't feel quite so bad. What about if you wash it without even driving it? Is that bad? Cheap tyres on the back = good. Cheap tyres on the front = bad :pinch:

Peter Gethin, RIP
Wasn't a name that really rang any bells until I read that bit about Monza 1971. It's a bit before my time, but I've seen a clip of that finish several times. Sounds like the guy lived and breathed motorsport - I'm sure he will be missed. RIP

We? Who is we? You assume you can speak for everyone on this site simply because you think your opinion is more valid than anyone elses? I'll make my own mind up thanks, I'm not going to change what I do just because your opinion is different to mine. You drive at the speed limits in your modified car and enjoy taking it on track once every blue moon - but I'll keep doing what I do and no amount of holier-than-thou preaching from you will make any difference. If you feel the need to continue, feel free to fill your boots. So, you think everyone in Germany is a driving God? That somehow Germans have superior spacial awareness than all other nations? It's fecking common sense - you don't have to be a member of Mensa to drive a car at high speed. You also have assumed that Riggers is bereft of any sense of rationality and cannot decide for himself when it is appropriate to use the power available or not. All he gave were numbers - not an indepth report to traffic and road conditions - you may have assumed he was weaving in and out of traffic, but this was not necessarily the case. Not everyone needs someone telling them what to think and do. Clearly at the giddy age of twenty-whatever, you are a leading authority on everything - good for you. You are also so smart, that you can make conclusions about people's intelligence from a few posts on an internet forum - I'm not so sure who is the stupid one: one who assumes he is more intelligent than everyone else, or someone who has an open mind? I do not need patronising either. I too have lost friends through car accidents, I think most people have. Speed may have been a contributing factor, but more probably it was a lack of ability, more than the outright use of speed that killed them. I do not condone driving at 160mph, it's something I have never done myself (except as a passanger), what I'm saying is: most people break speed limits at some point. If you don't then fine - enjoy posing in your car. I didn't buy my car for that purpose and I shall drive it how I want and suffer the consequences of my actions for doing so. I do not need some keyboard warrior preaching to me (or others) how to live my life. You make your choices and I'll make mine. The difference between you and me (of which there are many) is that I don't enforce my viewpoint onto others and then become insulting when they do not agree. I suggest you save your time and energy for someone who is willing to listen and preferably, try to earn their respect before resorting to infantile insults.

That's your opinion bud, but I'm quite secure in the knowledge that I am neither an idiot nor wreckless on the roads. How come germany has un-restricted autobahns which are actually some of the safest roads in Europe? Please discuss, I'd be interested to hear your views..

Meh, OK, so we shouldn't promote it - but I feel it's hypocritical that we can chastise someone for behaviour that many people on here indulge in themselves. We all have fast cars here. I didn't buy mine to drive it slowly either. I also don't see the point of pretending I drive any differently than I do - I think I'm responsible enough to know when is the correct time to use speed. It's all too PC for me. Pot calling the kettle black etc. It's OK to imply that we drive above the speed limit, but not to state actual facts. I know you have a site to moderate, but I'm fed up with all the PC shite that's peddled these days. Tell it how it is. Just because you comment on a thread doesn't mean you condone it. But, we do have a police force to enforce the law, I think that is sufficient. If we all thought about the what if's and could be's, we'd do absolutely feck all. Meh, meh and meh. Edit - by peddling PC shite, I'm referring to the world in general not you or this website specifically.

So I'm guessing you don't fly either (in aeroplanes) given the chance of surviving in the event of an emergency is so slim?

There's only one place I'd let fit a boost controller to my car, I believe you were there on sat... say no more!
