Universal side-mount adapters suitable for the Z?
And they didn't seat the seat too high? Did you mount it on the floor (welded) or did you mount it ontop of a frame/rail?

Universal side-mount adapters suitable for the Z?
Hi guys, I have bride rails already for base mount but want to get some universal sidemount adapters for them. Anybody know of any good options I can get in the uk? Anybody got sidemounts in their Z?

Stripping out the Z
And is it reasonable to expect to lose 150kg out of a 300zx? I can feel the difference just having one passanger in it for straight-line speed. I already have the spare wheel out, but if I could feesibly drop another 150kg that would be mint!

Stripping out the Z
Yeah shouldve learned my lesson on that front by now. Thing is I don't want to leave big scrapes and cracks, but fook knows where people get dry ice from lol! Did it make much of a difference to your performance?

Stripping out the Z
Did you take it out with dry ice? Ignore the ferrari dry carbon seat, some bugger outbid me with 5 seconds remaining :@ went for 159 quid! I've seen these go for 2000 pounds second hand. Serves me right for being tight :p Anyway I'll get a carbon bucket seat of some sort very shortly.

Stripping out the Z
Not got money for more power right now (well I do, but I'm trying to save a little) so wanting to tighten the car up a little and lighten her. I know how heavy the stock seating arrangement is up front (after struggling to get the driver seat in the car), so have a dry carbon bucket seat from a ferrari waiting to go in her :tt1: which weighs the grand sum of nothing. To go with the theme I plan on ripping as much out the car as I can, sound deadening, carpets, door panels absolutely everything. How far can I go with interior gadgets and wiretucking? I know theres a silver Z on here which looks like it's really sorted on the stripped-out front, how far is the strip job on that, and if the owner reads this - what real-world difference has it made? I wish I could afford an escort FG trunk as that alone weighs a good 40kg surely. May get lexan windows for the rear half but not doing for the driver/passanger door, but I've heard its not THAT much lighter than glass?

Feel so lucky! Found something by pure accident
Well that was one job, I effectively had to rip the spoiler off! At any rate the bodyshop can work out re-attaching it. Also managed to the fit the perspex strip without any snappage! Question is, does the car suit it? It's a little topheavy but I need a spoiler for sure as the car isn't stable over 150 without one. (Not that I ever do that ;) ) It's not sat properly in the pic, just balancing.

Well it half gets better half gets worse! Much to mine (and the couriers) surprise, I got the whole trunk! The plus side of this is that I got a led-brake perspex strip with it! On the downside it's going to be a job getting the spoiler off, none of the screws are set in the fibreglass so getting them off is going to be a royal PITA without breaking the spoiler. I'd switch trunks but it looks like one hell of a lot of work for one individual

still no whoosh , need help plz guys
You need to just bung up all the holes and run bov-less :D Makes lots of whoosh :D

Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
I have to be honest the NA does sound nice and crisp when revving, but I reckon the TT trumps it once boost kicks in!

Wheels F/R & Off Set
Lets see :) Would be nice to see how square fitment sits when not done to the extreme. I'm MASSIVELY struggling over the 17/18" debate right now as wheel design, car colour, car kit, amount lowered and tyre sizes are all factors on how the wheels will look. 18's on some z's jut look silly big, but 17's on z's look silly small

Jeez I sh*t myself there for a sec Jim! hehe, nah I waited until the courier had picked it up. I wont be selling it unless it doesn't look right on the car, but it's saved me a lot from buying it from Japan allowing me to 'test it' without taking a massive hit on the wallet!

Feel so lucky! Found something by pure accident
As always, some of the best deals on ebay aren't even listed in the right place! I was looking for rear lights and spotted a tiny part of a spoiler on the car which I had a hunkering was the bomex aero type 2 I was going to buy for 700 quid 2 months ago. I emailed the guy and asked if he'd sell up and if so, how much he wanted, he said 50 bucks!!! I was like, I'll take it, and ended up sending him 80 pounds. Then got a pic of the below - it's the right one.. Utterly delighted, check it out - it's 'winging' its way up to me now

A few mods to make my car quicker
It's tiny dude.. but it's no biggie, the main problem is I've gotten used to the power and it's become stale and boring. So far I got aftermarket intake, 3" decat pipes and 3" single exit exhaust, boosted up, JD ecu and boost jets. I'd guess its running 350 or so hp but it's a pure guess. How would I push her to a solid 400hp?

A few mods to make my car quicker
Cheers Car.Mad , that sounds feesible - can GTiR T28r's fit the manifolds without any turbo modifications like rotated housings?

A few mods to make my car quicker
Was a bit gutted that my car barely stroked even with a boosted up Sapphire Cossie the other week, so fancy upping the anti a little. Im running stock block, turbos, intercoolers, injectors, boost jets (0.9mm and no idea of the boost level tbh, but I can feel the turbos loosing puff around 6k revs). Car feels fast but I wouldnt mind a bit more response and a bit more top end grunt. I havent seen any 700 quid HKS GT2530 kits around for a while (mores the pity) so what can I do on a relative budget? Was thinking EBC set to 17psi (though who knows that could be a little less than I'm currently running, maybe a bit more) but can't see that making a big difference. Would some bb GT28's from a pulsar or s15 on each side be a good idea, and if yes, where could I get some 5 bolt elbows that wont cost the earth? Car is pretty much sorted looks wise, just needs lowered a little more at the back to set it up nice as a 'street car' (nothing crazy like a show car, just sporty looking)

how low can I go
Slamming looks cool, but drives like sh*t and wears tires without a lot of expensive alignment gear. It's fine for America where all they have is flat roads for hundreds of miles, but here we just have to be at one with the fact the roads are cack and your car will end up smacking of the ground 5 times a day.

Weight Bench & Weights
Personal question mate, are you planning on building your muscles/strength evenly or just recuperating from sports injury/ therapy for back pain etc.? It's worth noting that if it's the former I'd honestly stay away from machines (as they are very specific in the areas they develop, I could bench 120kg on a smith machine, and on a vertical chest press machine without any problems, but when it came to balancing the bar on free weights I had to start right back at 50kg again and work my way up to the 100's, I can tell you that the development in both strength and size is massively different). Machines are specifically aimed at people recuperating from injury as they involve a limited range of motion (oh and those who need to massage their ego's with big figures infront of the ladies at the gym :p ). You'll benefit much more using free weights, just be slow and steady with it, form, posture and range of motion is much more important to get right than throwing on the plates :) with a decent amount of food chugged down you'll get noticably more muscular within a few months.

Weight Bench & Weights
Free weights are the way to do things, the only useful machines I find are the leg press and smith machine if you're starting out with benching. For these I'd only buy Matrix, they are fantastic quality. For free weights there's no point in snobbery, but buy metal weights and bars not plastic - plastic (cement/sand filled) are large, clumsy and easy to break. Tesco did fantastic deals on 10kg plates a while ago (like 4-5 pounds a plate). Also I'd say for first few months get gym membership to see if you'll stick it out, and get a gym partner. Otherwise you wont unlock half your enthusiasm or potential. Good luck!

Insurance
Ooh do you?! I'm 26, in a 0-rate crime zone, garaged import Z with some minor mods, what's the chance of getting a quote better than the 600 odd I'm paying just now? (tpft)
