  1. Looks like a fun toy, must be plenty of torque in it to have torn your hands off like that!
  2. Now thats a nice clean shiny machine. Looks great and a nice backdrop too
  3. Is that a long winded way of saying that your putting on weight and the old frame is likely to buckle :)
  4. That was 2 years ago, I thought it was pretty decent through there. The only problem is its a fair hike through for Lee. weekends are likely to be heaving up till christmas now though. Either or suits me, as long as the misses dosent plan anything
  5. lol 20 year old Nissans and salt on the roads arent a great combination, as many on here have found out.. Thats the main reason mine is parked up for the winter
  6. hope so!
  7. lol you havent got the hang of this austerity thing yet, its all about cutting costs (jobs, materials) and making even greater profits at the same time......or am I just being cynical? lol
  8. That was the biggest failing of the last lot of documents, rather than a little tick box the advisories should have been visible. How many traders have been tearing up advisories for years.
  9. They were going to do away with the "certificate" 5 years ago once MOT computerisation was implemented. All that was going to be issued was a little bit of paper as a receipt. The real record of test is stored electronically there has not been a need for a certificate for 5 years. However the "little bit of paper" was deemed to be insuficient to appease the general public because " ive been issued with a certificate for 30 odd years, so I still need one mentality". From reading these posts I now understand the the guru's were spot on lol, ffs this is 2011 everything else is electronic why not an MOT certificate. The benefits as Paul C so rightly points out is far more security, previously there were stolen certificates, forged certificates washed and rewritten certificates and all very hard for anyone other than VOSA to prove authenticity. Now all tests must be recorded on MOT comp, wont stop a bad test but will stop all the hoods selling on vehicles with stolen/forged certificates. It is now far easier for the public to check and see whether an MOT is valid, they can do it from the comfort of their own home. Forget about the bit of paper you receive it is virtually worthless, I dont even understand why the Post office need it for taxing the car as they can see its in test on their computers.
  10. They aint all meaningless numbers though, mine is 69 (my favourite number ) and it aint even a private plate
  11. Yes and I should know better lol
  12. lol I think 99.99% of motors with lsd's are tested on the rollers, I know for the last 7 years all the tests I've had were done on rollers
  13. lucky man I could do with a little boredom, but too busy :) Always fancied a trip to the far flung islands, I'll get round to it some day
  14. Blame the EEC, for a change it isn't the UK government behind the changes. The EEC is requiring that testing in all the member states is standardised. The idea being a test in the UK is exactly the same as everywhere else, that way we can all accept each others test certificates. We are already pretty strict so imagine what some of the changes are going to be like in some of the other countries. That being said we can opt out of some of the items that have been requested and as far as I understand it the changes have yet to be signed of by the ministers so they aint set in stone as yet ( though they are likely to be passed )
