hi from Scotland
Hi mate, I'm in the southside of Glasgow and I use a very reliable garage that knows their way around 300zxs, they have worked on my z31 and my z32, they have also carried out hybrid turbo installs for 300zxs in the past. The owner is Kenny Brown, he also has a rally team and he is based in Hillington Industrial Estate.

Standard boost guage "stuck" on zero
Thanks for the reply Jeff, I appreciate you taking the time. I plan to get the MOT and a couple of things sorted and get down to see you for an ecu upgrade and setup later in the year...any excuse for a road trip from Scotland! I had out for a spin tonight and I'm getting + boost, there has been no work done recently, just seemed to come out of the blue last week, fixed itself and then reappeared again now. The needle is permanently on zero but was working as described in your post (sitting at the left at idle) which suggests guage, sender or pipework I guess.

Standard boost guage "stuck" on zero
Hi mate, if its the bit circled in green here (http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/7321/eb9kh2.jpg) then I've checked that all seems OK. There is another hose in that area though that has been poorly tapped up (its got dump valves so my guess would be that this used to be connected to recirs)...when I find memory card reader I'll stick a pic up to see if it can be identified. I do have a stalling issue when coming to a halt but I've had that longer than the guage issue so I'm guessing they are not connected.

Standard boost guage "stuck" on zero
Hopefully this is just a sticky needle... A week or so ago the boost guage stuck on zero, car drove fine so I took it to a road where I could get some boost action to make try and nudge the needle but nothing happened. Later that day after the engine had been off and on a few ties it just went back to normal. Been fine since, til yesterday when it happened again and now wont budge back or forward, sitting just past the zero mark. Any suggestions, is this just a sticky needle or sign of something more sinister? had a look under the bonnet, found one cracked hose and sorted that. There is another which seems to have been tapped off poorly but its always been there so shouldn't have just caused this issue to start out of the blue. Cheers

Cheap zed.... Is this for real ?
I don't think people do it to grab your attention, its down to autotraders pricing strategy - it is considerably cheaper to advertise a car if you are asking under £1k. I'd say the list price is deliberate but the final bit in the description were it says 300 after 3000 is more than likely a typo. For 2 weeks just on the website the costs are: Standard web ad - £35.00 Asking price under £1k - £9.99 So I can understand why people do it.

Whats your biggest win on the lottery?
Bugger all because I don't play it. My dad's syndicate won around £10k once...but my mate from school actually won the jackpot back around 1999/2000, well it was his parents and we were 17 at the time. £1.3 million big ones from a lucky dip :thumbup1:

fantastic write up :)
I think its just a cunning ploy to get rid, it is her car and not the ex's  If you follow the link to her profile from the ph ad then to the forum section she appears to be very into her fast cars and was looking into drifting at one point.

suspension setup for strosek front bumper
Cheers Bigh, I had popped my head under there and had noticed that there is a huge amount of bumper under there, its like a surf board! Dont think I want to start chopping into it though as I think it would reduce the strength of the overall bumper structure. Anybody else out there with this bumper and newish standard or uprated suspension to chip in?

suspension setup for strosek front bumper
Howdy folks, I'm getting fedup scraping over speed bumps despite going diagonal and avoiding braking into them to prevent front end dipping. My z32 has a strosek replica front bumper on it which is the culprit. Its not lowered but there is very little clearance under that bumper. Suspension doesn't seem to be sagging too bad, do you think just adding new shocks and springs would help avoid scraping everywhere I go? What suspension setups have others with the same kit got, and do they have the same problem? I think I remember reading about another type of car being raised by fabricating a spacer to sit at the strut mount, anyone ever heard of or used these? I know its rare to hear of comeone wanting to raise the car instead of lowering but I can't enjoy the car if I'm worrying about coming across a monster speed bump....plus I have to go over two of the b*stards to get out of my street!! Cheers

donner meat pakora
I've had it and my heart is still ticking  Loads of places in Glasgow started doing it now. Tip - if it comes in strips then it will be good. - if it comes like red donuts then what you've got yourself is the last of the meat on the skewer from last night, slid off then sliced!

well i found my power steering fault
I had this happen to me a couple of months after fitting poly bushes on my z31, same as you in that the first I knew was when it pulled to one side forcefully when I put the brakes on approaching a red light. Replaced with standard rubber ones.

advice please - fitting rubber bushes

advice please - fitting rubber bushes
Evening all, I'm about to install some rubber bushes and when getting the bits together I found some sachets of copper grease in an old pack with poly bushes for another part of the car...question is - do I need to grease the rubber bushes, and if the answer is yes, then am I OK to use the grease which was intented for use on poly bushes? Cheers

Z Stolen!
Mate, theyy had their chance and the f*ckers who nicked it know where to go pick it up again! Get yourself a decent garage and get the first one to pay for the repairs rather than give them your zed again!

importing parts from Japan
OK cheers. Any idea how it works when it arrives in UK, land in a depot and pick up/arrange your own courier from there? I'm invetigating a container to be shipped, seller has arranged a price to get it as far as Southampton...I've never imported before, I know I'll have 24% to the total price to pay at somepoint for vat and duty but that's about it!

importing parts from Japan
Anybody got experience of importing from japan to the UK? I was trying to get a quote for the import duty and realised I need to know the insurance cost first before the calculator gives an estimate...anybody know good place to go for insurance, parts would be coming by ocean freight. Cheers
