Very sad day for Zedworld and family
As a dog lover and owner I'm not ashamed to say reading your post brought tear to my eye Jeff, just made me think about how I'd feel if it were mine. So sorry for your loss.

Anyone in the know how on redundancy procedure etc? Advice pls
Rich you may have already saw this when you say 'government websites' but this is the official government website providing information and guidance to businesses (although to be replaced later this year as Business Link is no more), it will at least give an overview of the options which you can then ask for more detail on when speaking to ACAS http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/layer?r.l1=1073858787&r.s=tl&topicId=1074450319

Dave, what sort of modifications are considered over the top for you guys? I'm about to fit coilovers and adjustable upper and lower arms, its got alloys and a bodykit but that's all I know about. I was just about to get an online quote but the terms and conditions I'm asked to accept before the quote state that it must not be an import and it must be garaged at night. Mine aint garaged and its an import. From the terms - https://fjquotesonline.co.uk/CoreQuote/faces/TermsConditions.jsp?Product=1&Style=1 The vehicle: • Is over 15yrs of age (Quotes available for younger vehicles please ring the number below for a quotation). • Has not been modified from the manufacturer's standard specification. • Is not a grey or parallel import including US imports. • Is not valued at more than £50,000. • Is not a Van, pickup, motor home or other commercial vehicle. • Must be garaged at night. • Your maximum annual mileage will not exceed 6000 mpa (please ring us for higher options that may be available)

My New Toy/Daily Driver
Well when I say jeep...I mean the ML430 that I had.

My New Toy/Daily Driver
Just picked this up today, lwb version so its got some serious leg room in the back and every toy you could imagine, TV, sat nav, heating and cooling seats all round, double glazing, electonric adjustable suspension for height and stiffness, sport option on auto box, electronic rear blind, soft close doors, you can even make the rear headrests vanish by hitting a button on the dash! Haven't worked out what all the buttons do yet and the manual is as thick as a bible! Put it in reverse to park and the mirror moved itself down to point at the kerb...turned engine off and steering wheel pulled itself away all on its own to make sure my fat ass could get out ok  Got the same W113 engine that my jeep had, 4.3 litre v8. You can't hear the engine running at all unless you floor it then the v8 roar sounds superb. Ex-chauffeur car with below average mileage and full main dealer history. Got it on the cheap because some scrote keyed the bonnet and its missfiring. I phoned the dealer that's been working on it and they said they had diagnosed it after 3 days of testing as 4 coil packs needing replaced and recommended replacing all 8 for £1000 to the previous owner who declined and subsequently put it up for sale....the plan - £20 per coil from a breaker, just replace the ones that need done and get ecu reset at local independant....fingers crossed :whistling:

Diff poly bush and shocker bush
You can defo get the fron diff ones, I had them on my shopping list previously! If I find the link I'll post it but here's the first one I found just to show they exist - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-300ZX-Z32-Fairlady-89-97-Diff-mount-front-R-49161-Nolathane-Bush-Kit-/190625158004

Lucky find
Aye I've got all the arms bar the upper rears, I've got 200sx ones here instead so I'm getting the driftworks ones ordered up whenever they have dust boots in stock for the other ones to make it one order. Mechanic said I should leave the standard subframe bushes in to give some 'compliance' since everything else is going to be stiff and the standard ones are in good nic. I've gone with poly before for sub frame and thought it was a great improvement (never tried going hard core with solid ones) but I'll take his advice for now, he runs a racing team so he knows what he's talking about...but I'll see how it feels when all setup .
-
Lucky find
I know man but I've decided the NA rear diff wasn't meant to be! Sub frame bushes are good so with the other work I'm doing there is no need to drop the sub frame, so I'm going ahead with just the hicas lockout, coilovers and adjustable arms for now. When the sub frame bushes need done or the brake pipes then I'll do an NA diff conversion. Think I'll just go with this bush kit, what one did you go with in the end?

Lucky find
Got the car up on the lift at mechanics today to have a good look around before booking it in for the suspension changes and discovered a one piece prop that I didn't know was there! Underside is very clean, only a couple of wee bits and pieces to pick up before getting it set up for the summer

Any MOT testers in Scotland (near Glasgow preferably) - looking for a favour!
Cheers mate

Any MOT testers in Scotland (near Glasgow preferably) - looking for a favour!
Kwik fit website gives monday as the earliest available mot test slot...tried that earlier. I'm going to be on the road from early doors tomorrow, if nobody can help I guess I'll just take a list of phone numbers with me and start phoning round to try and get a booking somewhere

Any MOT testers in Scotland (near Glasgow preferably) - looking for a favour!
Any MOT testers in West of Scotland? I'm going to view/potentially pick up a new daily driver tomorrow up in Inverness. Its got no MOT and the garage I usually use doesn't open at weekends so it will be MOT'd on Monday at the earliest. Soooo....any MOT testers that would be willing to book me in for tomorrow? Main thing is to have a test pre-booked that I can be heading for if stopped by plod really - choice is yours, if you actually want to MOT it tomorrow then I'll head to your garage, if your busy but wouldn't mind booking me in so that Im covered for journey home and can just be a no show as far as your concerned then that's cool too! Once home the motor won't be moving til its on its way to an MOT next week, just want to be as legit as I can be for the journey home, I've sorted out tyres for it at the Inverness end and other than that its got no known faults.

not really a teck question
Chuck a load of broken eggs shells around where you park the car, I'm sure I read that somewhere for people trying to protect their plants...sharp bits of eggs shell on little paws is enough to keep them away supposedly

hubcentric spacer suitability
Garry, i've seen a million threads about the spacers like yours (particularly on driftworks) and its always a split decision but majority saying they should be avoided. Some folk say they are fine as long as you torque them up in the right order but others (usually the majority) say the same as Andy about the lip taking the weight of the wheel so I've always avoided them...but based purely on what I've read others say.

rear poly bushes
Aye upper control/radius arm  .........looked at far too many bushes tonight and trying to do too many things at the one time!!! I've got front and rear upper and lower arms, toe rods, tein front tension rods, hicas lockout kit, tein coilies with electonic control unit, front rack, full 120k service kit.....now I need to spent another few hundred on perifieries!
-
rear poly bushes
Think I'll get a quote from Mr F for the rubber ones for lower control arm instead of poly, can't really justify £80 - sandy was offering a whole subframe for £80 last week
-
rear poly bushes
Yes there's tension rods in the rear as well - what that ad is saying (I think) is that by using those bushes on rear tension rods would effectively alter your camber if you have non-adjustable arms.

anyone deal in old prints ,paintings, wall art?
You might have just struck it rich if wikipedia is to be believed :smartass: ....................6 figures! By the 1930s he was considered one of the greatest living marine artists, whose patrons included two American Presidents, Dwight D Eisenhower and Lyndon B Johnson, as well as the British Royal Family. Also in the 1930s, he moved to Milford-Upon-Sea in Hampshire, living there for many years. Dawson is noted for the strict accuracy in the nautical detail of his paintings which often sell for six figures. The work of Montague Dawson is represented in the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and the Royal Naval Museum, Portsmouth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montague_Dawson I'll take the gamble and offer you £20 delivered :innocent:

rear poly bushes
No as above, I think when they say radius arm they mean the tension rods. See here as example - pics of tension rods with 'radius rod' listed - http://www.300zx.com.au/pricelists/pricelist_suspension.htm If you have adjustable tension rods already then you won't be needing them either. For camber arms I think you/we still need the bush that goes at the chasis side of the arm. I've got my booked in next monday to go up on the 4 poster lift to have a look for myself and see what I need to order for when the adjustable arms and coilies go on.
