  1. What sort of mpg have you been getting out of that Gary? I've had an S430 as a stop gap but looking for something more suitable for carting the dog to park and that can at least hit double figures for mpg!
  2. My boss used to have the 2.5tt and I took him for a spin in my tt and he shit his pants. He now has the more mellow 4l v8 soarer. They weight a lot, not looked up figures but you just have to look at the thickness of the doors, size of the boot etc to see its a big old lump, I may be wrong but I think they're all autos too.
  3. Its on zclub too - http://zclub.net/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4276&cat=1&date=1278965209 There's also a 300zx just now - http://zclub.net/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4231&cat=1&date=1278965209
  4. I know the one you are talking about, red facelift model in/around Newcastle. The paintwork is in a bit of a state on that as well as the rot. If you're after super cheap then check this one out - http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/nissan-300zx-long-tax-and-mot-classic-car/104222279 I've had one for 5 years now and never had any problem getting parts, there's generally a couple being broken on ebay or on forums and Milke and MJP (trader on here) can sort you with any new parts.
  5. RIP Ziko, sorry to hear that Del mate
  6. Might be cheaper if you phone. I was getting bits from MJP and emailed Mike about it, he told me to phone the order in because the website would have charged more postage not realising it was just small parts, maybe the same setup for Luke.
  7. Ah, you guys started posting while I was typing the above obviously!
  8. Post number three names one of the mechanics which to anyone whose been around here a while identifies the garage - if I were you Vijay, I would edit that part out unless the garage posts to say they are OK with this being discussed prior to a resolution being reached...it won't do you any favours while its unresolved. I think you were fair enough to flag up the things you were dissapointed with and missing the sills is probably the most important failure on their part if you managed to view it with it on axle stands. I think you have allowed your frustrations with the actual problem mix with your feelings for the work actually done by this garage. Like I said your points are valid but from the emails posted you do seem to be on the offensive and not really giving him any slack. This in turn has led to him trying to end the situation by mentioning the storage bill, in the hope that you'll go quiet now to avoid receiving that bill. I would send an email to clear the air to say you are still dissapointed at how things have turned out, suggest a final settlment of half the inspection fee for missing the sills or just call it quits (they have offered to send new bracket and thankfully you spotted the sills before the bodyshop work so no harm was done in the grand scheme of things). As said, i think your points are valid, but you are calling into question the mechanical knowledge and skills of someone well known and respected as an expert. You putting inverted commas around the word 'specialist' and worse still - 'mechanic' towards the end will not help you resolve this situation.
  9. My mate suggested this earlier, if I've got time at lunch I might take a run in for a sniff about. Went to see a friend of a friend who runs a local chips away service and he got rid of the black paint in a flash. Because of where the dent is he said he's not sure about pulling it out but is putting me in touch with a bodyshop to see what they say. Bumper has a strip with no paint left but the bumper was a bit tatty close up anyway so was already on the list of things to tidy up but could have done without the dent in the wing.
  10. Nah, security guy but he was nowhere to be seen when I was looking for red paint on black cars!
  11. Window regulator gave up on my daily driver yesterday with widow stuck down so luckily the sun was out today and I took the zed. Went to a meeting in town and parked in open carpark, returned to find some **** had reversed into it and ****ed off! Dented wing and paint all round the arch and front bumper....GGGGGRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Its never been garaged whilst insured with FJ and wasn't on my policy last year, stated kept on public road.
  13. Hi Dave, I've just had my renewal through and it now states that my car is not covered for theft or mallicious damage between the hours of 10pm-6am if it IS parked at or near my home????? What's that about? I'm about to stick some modifications on so I'll need to phone up for a re-quote anyway...but if I'm not covered for theft at night time at my own home then there's not much point to be honest
  14. Thought this one was quite good - http://www.photoshoptroll.com/mustache/
  15. I'm all about the stance, I doubt you would need any arch work. I've still to sort the front on mine, sticking adjustable upper and lower arms instead of spacers though. Funksi has bbs lms on now, can't see a pic kicking around but his old Advan Sienas were of a similar style and he had the stance spot on
  16. Its just home delivery network (HDNL) rebranded because they got such a bad reputation (just after xmas they put some clothes i had delivered in my wheelie bin along with my rotting turkey carcus) and a lot of big companies dropped their contracts. I went to pick up from their depot a few weeks ago and the building was still branded HNDL although the vans were yodel
  17. I do like that style of wheels but (BRUTAL HONESTY ALERT!) you really need chunkier spacers all round as it is spoiling what those wheels have just added tot he look of your car, they must be quite a high offset
  18. Not bad for oldie Alan :surrender: I got 23......age 30
  19. Cheers Lee, thanks for the info mate - have some rep :thumbup1:
  20. I've had a bit of a stuttering problem that goes away if I ease off the throttle and then accelerate again (most of the time), it reminds me of how another car I had dorve when the throttle position sensor was playing up so I'm going to try a quick TPS swap over to see if that remedies it before investigating further. Question I've got is - is it the same TPS for auto and manual, tt and na? Mine is manual TT import. Cheers
  21. No, BigZ was right, spacers reduce the ET not increase it.
  22. I always ended up finding CDs in any new car I buy, I remembered to mention this to a guy I was buying one from a couple of weeks ago. He was delighted that I reminded him and headed to the boot to take the CDs out the changer, I was standing beside him chatting away when he turned to me and said 'music is a very personal thing, would you mind looking away while I remove my CDs' :clown: I would love to know what was in there that he was so ashamed of!
  23. You got balls yowser....posting up a pic that shows you listening to Christina Agulera, What a Girl Wants
  24. It will depend on the manufacturer of the adjustable one but I would imagine it will go both shorter and longer than the standard one, the only way to run it like that would be to strip both tension rods off and reset the adjustable one next to the standard one and then re-fit them mate...but if i were you then I'd get a new set of adjustables as soon as or else just get a single used standard one to replace the adjustable.
  25. If one is adjustable then what's to stop you adjusting it to make it the same size as the standard one? But to be honest, I'd want matching parts and would just buy a new pair of tension rods.
