  1. Not too far to travel at all mate, I'm southside of Glasgow
  2. Thanks Richard. I actually remembered a chips away guy I know from a while ago and dropped him an email. I'll see what he says but with the prices you and Roobarb said, sounds like I should just get it sorted properly
  3. Aye it's pretty deep mate. Annoying thing is I had it up for sale with 50 watchers on ebay and due to finish tomorrow, I've just withdrawn the advert til clean it up a bit or get it painted. I have a feeling at the back of my head that its actually someone that's been to view it while for sale, they tried to knock me down a lot on price and I wasn't willing to go that low...I'm thinking they expect to see the price come tumbling down now. But that may just me my paranoia getting the better of me, could have been any other little ****....parked right behind the zed and the zed was untouched. Anyone fancy an educated guestimate of repair cost? I've been fortunate in that I've never needed paint or bodywork done before so have no idea of cost.
  4. Anybody know how much I'd be looking at to get a door painted? Not my zed, got an S class that some little scroat decided to carve his initial on last night! To say i was pissed to see this first thing this morning is an understatement.
  5. If no joy then i have a couple of spare sets of alloys mate, i'm southside of Glasgow
  6. What they are worth and what they sell for are very different and I think you've been given a bum steer above on valuation mate. I have a perfectly good, very well restored z31 (poly bushes, fresh brakes and suspension, body work does have a couple of small rust blemishes but its already had around £4k invested in it during my 5 years of ownership) and I wouldn't expect to get back any more than £800-£1000 for it, its a later facelift model that looks a bit better than the early one. There are a few on ebay asking silly money but they will remain for sale forever at those prices I rarely drive mine these days and have considered getting it ready for track use to save it just sitting there gathering dust.
  7. From my understanding: - its optional for you, the main change is that they are automatically enrolling employees to try to encourage uptake - onus is on the employers to roll it out and sign you up - it is NOT tax, it is a private/stakeholder pension contribution you would be making, your employer will top up anything you add to it too so there is a clear benefit for employees - you will still get a state pension (if it still exists by the time we retire!) in addition to this new pension if you do stay enrolled in it Hope that helps.
  8. One of mine if any good to you, few more on photobucket http://s1020.photobucket.com/albums/af324/z31300zx/z32tt/?start=all
  9. hahahaha, can't even go back to re-word that to sound less saucey because I'm not subbed lol
  10. Getting there Lee! I've not looked at mine again yet but I did notice that I took another gouge out a read tyre on the way back, must be litterally a mm too far out still. If you get a chance can you email any screenshots you managed to take the other weekend when fiddling with mine please? Cheerz
  11. Not quite but I think I'm at least on the right track now, think another session with some contact cleaner and possibly a replacement coolant temp sensor, then track down or make a boost leak tester.
  12. Just a thankyou note for Lee who kindly donated a few hours of his time today to try and help me and my sickly zed out, holding him back from working on his own zed. Top fella, thanks mate. PS when I got home my spare alloys that I had left balancing precariously at the top of the stairs (seemed like a good idea at the time) had fallen down all by themselves wedging my front door shut so i couldn't get in. An hour of struggling, sweat pouring down my face, arm squeezed through letter box (thanksfully a vertical one low down) trying to move 4 randomly piled alloys out the way with one hand at a time...eventually with the help of a rake handle for leverage I managed to get in but I do look like I tried to top myself with the cuts across my wrists!
  13. Most if not all connectors cleaned up a couple of weeks ago, timing belt just replaced and new set of spark plugs etc (went in with this fault and came back out with it).
  14. Hi mate, got my new rear wheel situation sorted so no more shredding rubber and stance sorted so I'm back on the road. Got a loan of a multimeter and set the TPS to 4.6v (was 3. something before I started), disconnected with ignition on (engine off) and plugged back in about 10 seconds later but still got a misfire/erratic idle and stuttering/hesitation when foots down. Are you available this weekend or next if I take a run through to try to narrow down the cause using your Conzult/datascan? You can drop me a line at ??? or txt on ??? (please remove email and phone number once you pick this message up mate) Stance before Stance after
  15. You do not want to be fitting those brands to a zed. I've got Pirelli P Zero Corsa N6 235/40x18 on the front and Continental (extra load) contisport contact 275/35xzr18 on the rear and it grips really well. Wheel widths 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. Other things to look out for to keep the rear in check is the condition of your hicas bushes and general condition of all suspension parts. My hicas bushes were in a poor state and the car was running on budget tyres when I got it and it was a scary beast at times, particularly in the wet. With good tyres and a fresh suspension setup it has been tamed somewhat.
  16. Word of warning on the Big Red kit - the outer retaining clips are useless and very flimsy compared to stock. I can see you have them in your pic - they are thicker but not as solid as the originals, I just cleaned up and reused the originals. I actually emailed them about it and they asked what type it was (so there must be two outer retainers available) and they said they would look into it.
  17. Well you win by default because nobody else guessed but you were over the mark. Both sets of discs boxed together cae to 30.03 kgs according to the post office scales today
  18. Is it the window rattling around inside the door? There is a write up in the faqs about it - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?126850-Rattling-window
  19. Superb, ceers Jaikai, I'll give you a shout when i get on the road again
  20. I will probably invest in something but at the moment I wouldn't know what I'm doing with it either
  21. I'll take any excuse I'm given to take the zed a blast out to the coast, if you would be willing to check it over some weekend when I get the wheel situ sorted that would be awesome :thumbup1: I'll be sure to lift a crate of beer for you en route
  22. Anyone in or around Glasgow with conzult? Had a misfire then went for a timing belt and service and replacement TPS, but the replacement TPS was knackered too. Taken car back home and have another TPS now, will stick that on when I get loan of multimeter and hopefully solve eratic idle and hesitation, but I fear the problem may be two fold and would appreciate a look at things on conzult and take advise from there to see what else might be going on. I'm immobilised at the moment until I sort a wheel situation out too so it would be a home visit anytime you like or I can come to you in a couple of weeks when I get wheels sorted. Cheers
  23. Anybody know the weight of 4 brake discs and calipers? Wrapping up some but don't have any scales, buyer has asked so that they can tell their courier and i wouldn't even like to hazard a guess! Just trying to save a trip to the postie if anyone can help, Cheers.
