  1. Yeh I ended up with a full system for £180 by buying in two parts from similar ebay auctions, just have to be patient and watch everyone that comes up with no reserver
  2. Thanks for the input chaps :thumbup1:
  3. I'm going to list some stuff on ebay for a few days but if it doesn't sell I don't want it lying around so was just going to scrap it (this is not a for sale thread so no offers on parts please). Anybody know how much I could expect from scrappy for this lot? I'm sure somebody posted the other day to say they got 60-70 quid for a set of cats and I was shocked to hear it was as high as that. full exhaust brake discs brake calipers couple of steel wheels and couple of batteries steering rack hicas rack front and rear upper and lower arms and tension rods Any rough idea?
  4. Pop into your local Business Gateway office nezzi, they'll keep you right. Its the government's business support service, there's some basic info on the website but you'd be best having a sit down with an adviser to run through the options for you. There's some links further down the page that might help working out the tax situation for your mrs - http://www.business.scotland.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?itemId=1087521902&r.l1=1073861225&r.l2=1087216666&r.l3=1073865730&r.s=sc&site=202&type=RESOURCES
  5. Well my drivers side turbo had a snapped one stuck in it which I discovered when trying to change the exhaust last week, serious efforts required to remove the bugger. With the constant heating and cooling, they become increadibly hard.
  6. Dave at Footman posted a while back about that Richard to say as far as he was concerned you only had to have access to another vehicle, ie be a named driver on partner/parents insurance would also allow you to take out a policy with FJ
  7. If nobody is supplying these over here then surely there's a gap in the market here for someone? This simple style could be fabbed for peanuts surely http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2030&Car_Type=300&UID=2012070912202592.30.94.250 With the combination of 20 year old radiators and readily available aftermarket replacements, surely there's a couple of quid in this for someone to sell privately or do a deal with japspeed or the club directly to supply these with orders via the club?
  8. Can't help with the 3v5 question I'm afraid. But you never know, if the item doesn't sell you could always contact the seller via ebay to make arrangements to hold for you to save them relisting again
  9. If you look hard enough you'll find one finishing tomorrow for almost half that
  10. Sweet Pete, could even arrange post direct to me if I get funds over to you via paypal?
  11. Z centre sugggested some meccano bent to shape
  12. Cheers black-zed. I gave zedcentre a call and they said they used to make them but don't anymore (althought they are considering starting it again). They also said that it was mainly cosmetic, the pegs and the top hose are stopping the rad from moving, their bracket was really just to buffer it if the hose was squidgy and the rad wanted to move more than a 1/4 inch. What has everyone else out there done?
  13. Anyone on ehre supply these or point me in the direction of someone who does please?
  14. Cheers Mark, I'll head over tot he garage to see if I can make sense of it this afternoon, if no joy then I'll try to take some pics to see if anyone can work out what's going on.
  15. Hard to tell until I get to the garage to have a look for myself, but had a call from the mechanic earlier. He is fitting a japspeed radiator and has phoned to say the radiator isn't the same as the one he just took out, he said there's no pipework for the gearbox cooler. Now its a JDM manual TT, that doesn't have a cooler for the box does it? And if it does then does that mean I've had a maual conversion in the past and some crap has been left behind? Any help appreciated guys, hopefully heading to garage later this afternoon. Cheers
  16. Can confirm for sure but would seem a waste of newish bilstens if you're going to punt it straight on. Why not get some second hand OEM skyline/300zx suspension for the GTR and keep the bilstens incase the teins turn out not to be to your comfort tastes? If they are, then sell the bilstens on rather than gift them away with the GTR.
  17. Same refurb kit for both types anyway, then you know they're good for a long time if you do them yourself - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-200SX-300ZX-Brake-Caliper-Repair-Kit-4015-/310411188936?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4845f2dac8 And here's a guide http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/rebuilding-300zx-z32-calipers.html
  18. I knew there would be a few issues along the way, issue number one today - the steering rack appears to be from a skyline, doh!
  19. yeh I noticed in the photos that the carpet was getting dirtier in each photo...but I live myself, so f*ck it
  20. So anything obvious missing apart from coolant? And since the forum upgade I haven't been able to find old threads by search, says I don't have permission, anyone got a link to delting hicas? Car.mad I seem to remember you having a simpler way... And what about stopping the hicas light coming on the dash? Cheerz
  21. Just sorted through the pile of parts that have been gathering for a few months to see what I've actually got and get it loaded for going to the garage tomorrow, calipers still need sanding and another couple of coats of paint. Think I've got everything needed for a good overhaul if summer ever shows up...
  22. I notice you didn't point out those faults when you had it advertised on here lol
  23. Well like I said, he shit his pants and now has a hankering for a 300zx. The zed, from what I've read (can't confirm these figures myself) is slightly ahead on bhp per ton v the soarer and more torque. Soarer BHP 276 @6200rpm Torque lbft 268 @4800rpm BHP per ton 173 300zx tt BHP 280 @6400rpm Torque lbft 274 @3600rpm BHP per ton 177 .....and I've never liked the look of them either.
