Scottish Tuning Show
Also on the subject of shows - anybody going to Knockhill this weekend, some classics and plenty of Ferraris http://www.knockhill.com/events/scottish-speedfair.php Just got the z31 back on the road today so probably going to head through on the Sunday because I fancy a long lie tomorrow

Any spray painters on here from Scotland?
Considering using the z31 for the summer and then getting the body work tidied up over the winter, any painters on here in Scotland?

Thought I needed a new strut, but...
Had a bit of a clunk for a few months on my z31 and I reckoned it was a knackered strut, it wasn't getting much use until the past few weeks so I just put in to the garage today to get checked out. Turns out the strut is fine, the clunk was actually due to my rear nearside spring going THROUGH my rear wishbone arm!! Its currently millimeters away from striking the driveshaft...to think I was doing ***mph in it last weekend on a coastal road trip and was due to go a 200 mile road trip to a classic car show this Sunday  Phoned Nissan for a laugh to price up a new arm and they wanted £700+ and a months wait to get it on back order  so I phoned a few breakers and found one for £25+vat

Z31 in Germany
Dunno I've not had any bother with my lights apart from rust :cursing: Maybe a short circuit or loose connection caused by 'lights on when down' mod going wrong or aftermarket stereo installation? Any other early model z31 owners out there in need of a set of headlights let me know and I'll dig them out.

Looks tidy ryjay. What condition are your headlights in? Mine are pretty rusted inside and note producing much light, I ordered a replacement set from a breaker last year, when they arrived I realised they were different for the facelift model so I have a set that are no good to me and should fit yours if you are in need of them? In case you haven't stumbled across it on google, this site may be of use - http://www.az-zbum.com/index.shtml Some pictures for inspiration on the wheel show - http://wheelshow.redz31.net/ Couple of pics of mine, badly in need of a set of wheels and could do with a paint job.

Depends how much stuff you are ordering to make shipping worth while but Courtesy Parts have just about everything for rebuild with gaskets, belts and bearings etc http://www.courtesyparts.com/300zx-parts-z31-1984-1989/genuine-nissan-parts/-c-2317_2318.html Gaz have done coilovers for a few people, one in this driftworks post - http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/108633-zeto-saichi-nissan-z31-2-seater-swb-kouki.html

Z31 in Germany
I've read this a few times on this forum about people struggling to source z31 parts...I've yet to have any trouble, suspension and brake parts are readily available new from loads of vendors and anything else I've sources from scrap yards without any bother at all as well as ebay, folk breaking them appear on there fairly regularly...maybe I've just been lucky and hopefully I've not just jinxed myself because my MOT is due in a month or so.

Political brawl....literally!
The guy who threw the egg was the one that was arrested. The clip to lighten the atmosphere a little  nice jab for an old man

Political brawl....literally!
What about prescott punching a guy a couple of years ago for hitting him with an egg? Did he get done with assault?

My babies together all clean ready for retirement
Poor old lass, get her out for a spin! I'm trying to get round to sorting the headliner in mine (now completely blocking the rear window!), on the lookout for a decent set of wheels and a back box then she'll be all ready for the summer...if it comes to Scotland this year! Missed most of the summer last year as it was stuck in a garage for about 6 weeks just for some welding but they started the job then the welder took ill in a bad way and I was left zedless for a while

928
I still kick myself when I think about it...I was a couple of months away from being 25 and being eligible for classic insurance at the time (4 years ago) and didn't want to insure it someone else's name then transfer over to me at later date...wish I had now!

This is the actual one I missed out on a few years ago, guy gives an idea of running costs - http://www.pistonheads.com/members/showcar.asp?carId=18349

The poor old z31 has been left out of the photoshoot!

928
Bit of a coincidence, I nearly bought a 928 s4 Gemballa, lovely looking car but I just missed out on it before I bought my zed a few years ago, only yesterday I started browsing for one again! Haven't seen a Gemballa come up again since I missed out on that one. Also have a bit of a soft spot for the 944 s2 cab, the sensible half of me (the top half!) says it will be less hassle to run but the other half says just get a 928 :cool2:

anybody know anything about cookers?
You the man Richard!! Gammon joint is back on the menu thanks to you :duffer: Don't have a user manual but I fiddled with the buttons and managed to set the clock and hey presto, thermostat light came back to life and a waft of hot air hit me in the face. Cheers mate, much appreciated.

anybody know anything about cookers?
cheers but there are two separate elements for grill and oven and neither is heating up :(

anybody know anything about cookers?
Hey chaps, had a power cut the other day and the cooker has been busted since, the digital clock still comes on and so does the fan in the oven so its not just a blown fuse in the plug as I was hoping when the mrs phoned me originally. Electric oven and grill, if I turn either on the wee temp light doesn't light up but the ovens fan does kick in, just no heat. Anybody know if there is likely to be an internal fuse or something that I can change that might be causing the problem? Gonna have to rip the fride and freezer out to get access to the bloody thing! Bloody big joint of gammon in the fridge just waiting to get its ass roasted as well!!

The Z has gone
Cool, cheers. I think that's inspired me to re-investigate sooner rather than later

Offset guide
Cant help with z32 fitments but in case anybody (or a collection of folk) with the right knowledge want to pull together a wheel fitment guide, here is a really good template to base it on, I'm on this site every other day to check out whether ebay wheels will fit my z31 - http://www.az-zbum.com/information.wheels.and.tires.shtml

£205 to tax the Zed!!!!! robbing t***!!!
I claimed on behalf of my Mrs in November and had no joy, what you have to do is get someone else to report the pot hole...then leave it a couple of weeks and if its still there then you can make a claim. I just reported it and claimed at the same time and the council took a couple of months to come back to me to say that since nobody reported the pot hole before she hit it, and the council had records that the road was checking by them as part of regular check within 12 months, then they cannot be held liable for any damage.
