  1. I wanna play too !
  2. In that case....the det sensor is not in use and its failing is having no affect on the car.
  3. A boost controller like the Profec prevents the car going into safety boost, but it will be in safety mode, which means retarded timing which will be affecting performance. Its either engine out or plenum off and replace det sensor. or Det sensor bypass
  4. The heat will only blow out of the footwell vents (and a little out of window vents) when you set it to a high setting. This is becuase its trying to warm the inside of the car up and the quickest way to do that is to blow heat from the lowest point, as heat rises. Once temperate reaches that point it will start blowing out of all the vents, including centre vents to keep the cabin at that consant temp.
  5. I believe Jap cars require the additional Central locking Motor actuator as they are mechanically driven, rather than electric compared to most other cars...I presume thats what the fitter meant.
  6. Hybrid just means a turbo assembled with the parts of two or more turbos. The stock turbo's are Hybrids.
  7. Depends on the width of the alloys, as to wether 245 (8.5"+) with fit on front and 275 (9.5"+ I think) on rear.
  8. TT = Twin Turbo...although some dealers refer to it as Targa tops UK (90-94) TT LWB Japan (89-2000) TT LWB TT SWB TT SWB Slicktop(hard roof) NA LWB NA SWB NA SWB Slicktop(hard roof) NA Convertable Manual & Auto available for both Desirablity its down to your preferences, not down to rareity ;)
  9. Stock brakes, in good condition are pretty good, still giving similar braking figures of modern cars....although most zed brakes are not in good condition with worn discs and sticking caliper pistons. But like everything, they can be upgraded. Stock sized aftermarket discs can offer better heat disipation and you can get much grippier pads. A bigger setup makes the real difference though.
  10. UK and Jap use H1 Main beam UK use H3 Dipped beam Jap use H3c Dipped beam You can convert Jap headlights very easily to use H3 bulbs. Danny @ DTA sells 100w replacement Dipped beam bulbs.

  12. no, 750-850rpm is correct, and these engine are not highly strung at all, quite the opposite in stock form. 99%* of Nissan mechanics have never touched a 300zx, only a handfull were trained on them back in the early 90's , and thats only basic training, and most of them no longer work for nissan. *an unscientific estimate. I accept no reponsibility for accuracy.
  13. that noise is quite common, and is usually Tension bushes which are gell filled, and when they fail the liquid leaks out and you get the creaking/grinding noise, or it will be one of the other suspension bushes.
  14. Presume you have'nt gone boost increase yet ? Makes a very noticable difference. Increase boost to 1bar (14psi) Boost, Decat, Lightened Flywheel & Lieghweight Pulleys then it gets expensive : bigger turbo's bigger injectors, to provide fuel for the turbo's bigger intercoolers, to provide cooling for the turbo's stronger clutch, to hold the extra torque p.s you should'nt be missing your 928 gts performance, since a stock zed is quicker! Unless your 928 was heavily modified or your Zed is under performing.
  15. You can't see the det sensor, its right down back of the block. Do the ECU test while the car in in safety mode without switching ignition off (it resets it) ECU test: http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html
  16. Stock gauge is very innaccurate. Ignore it and fit aftermarket. Those power figures suggest stock boost.
  17. everytime a email gets sent to your 300zx.co.uk email address, the system emails you. Thats what those emails are, notifications....unfortuanty the system can't handle html emails so they are received as blank and consequently the email notification it sends you is also blank.
  18. I aksed this question about a year ago. Everyone who had a Tailgate skin fitted at bodyshop replied saying around £150
  19. Strosek / Paul Bailey "style" - supplied by Zcenter and 300zx styling Then there is Ab-flug (search for abflug and ab-flug) and the Explosion arches.
  20. http://www.300zxstyling.co.uk or http://www.zcentre.co.uk Wide arch is a little different in that, yes the wheels can affect it. Depends though. Many fit wheel spacers when fitting wide arch, which means stock width and offset wheels will accomodate wide arches. If you have stock wheels I would upgrade them first. It makes a dramatic affect to looks as well as alloweing wider rubber and lower tyre walls, for improved handling and braking.
  21. I reckon MOt testers cut steering and driveshaft gaitors while there under there testing, every car I've ever owned failed every year for that reason!
  22. no....I've heard reports that its heavier, and that its lighter, perhaps it depends on the weave...either way its very very marginal and since the stock one would float away if you unbolted it, your buying it for looks not weight savings.
  23. http://www.streetnights.com/index.php Who's interested in us arranging something with this event ?
  24. Im alright thanks, be up for a party though  Whats wrong Allan ?
