Help! Convince me I've done the right thing!
what sort of fuel consumption are you getting(these cars are not actually that bad compared to other performance cars (average low 20's, up to low 30's on steady motorway run), are you sure its running right ? When its running right and your first few weeks of driving it, everytime you put your foot down your left breathless and buzzing. When a zed is'nt running right..ie safety boost...or other problems its still fast, but aint half as fun. Take it along to the Ztech open day they hold each month. Its completely free, you meet other owners and they check your car over for you, plus they are just outside swindon.

revs/gear shifting
TT or NA ? NA needs the higher rpms to get the best out of it, the TT does'nt need to be revved so hard. Although 7000rpm is plenty for both....stock limiter is 7200rpm I think.

They are RWD (although there is a rare 4wd option), and 220bhp stock. Any good...well thats down to personal opinion. As a Zed replacement..no ofcourse not...as an alternative to something like a s13 200sx, yeh perhaps.

re-covering seats
aaah..yes ofcourse,Good point, I was thinking of it the other way around :headvswal (ie you would end up with holes if putting drivers side on passenger seat). Colin, if you want the drivers or passenger side tweed cover, their yours if you cover P&P costs. Both have no wear marks at all. Drop me a PM if you want.

BHP difference Flywheel to RWHP?
Fly is always an estimate. I think its approx 15% for a manual and 20% for the Auto (Thats a percentage loss from flywheel to wheels.)

I've got a new car. :)
Nice colour :)

What are these?
Do you mean Side, instead of inside ? The wheel adjusts side bolster support, so you adjust how much it grips you and holds you in. The lever is lumbar support, it moves a support bar in back of seat give you more or less lower back support. If you dont mean them, and you mean inside your seat...perhaps its a DIY ejector seat mechanism....remove targa's and give it a go ;)

re-covering seats
the cutouts our different. Drivers side only has a lever on one side for tilt, and has an extra 2 levers for side bolsters adjustment and back lumbar support.

anyone know much on the bi turbo golf ??
Dont think it exits as a production vehicle? its an engine transplant jobbie. HPA motorsports did one, using a R32 Golf chassis and a tuned Bi-turbo V6 audi lump.

Looks fantastic. Really liking the red and black theme, gives it a "means business" look.. Removing the swag lines makes such a difference, far more modern

Why Did You Buy Your Zed
Wanted one since I was "youngster" in the school playground. Marriage, Kids, work got in the way through the years. Then in Summer 2004 the wife passed her driving test, which meant I could sale the Bmw 5 series for something less practicle and let her have the "family car". Purchased Black 92 TT manual in October 04 after being on forum for a couple of months and not looked back since. Can't see myself ever selling, unless it was to buy another zed. Then at the beginning of this year the wife decided we can fit the family inside a zed afterall, and forced me into purchasing a Silver 92 NA manual for her. :headvswal

tuning the non turbo
Sounds about right :) There is a Non-turbo tuning section in the members area for Subscribed members ;)

Boost Controller
I would improve the breathing with an Induction kit and cat back exhaust before upping the boost, and as Kirbz says, a ECU Chip to ensure the fuelling is correct.

Curses - speedometer's given up the ghost.
The speedo itself being the cuase of the problem is pretty rare. Its much more likely to be speed sensor, or mph/kph speed convertor. If you have a mph/kph convertor, remove that first as its cheap and easy to do. Then test. If not, then its likely to be speed sensor. more info from Jef TT here : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=485534&postcount=10
