Can i just say now before my next question, thanks for all the help you chaps have been giving me so far, im new to the Zed and Turbo scene, so i do have loads more questions to come too!!

 

ok, i have a totally standard '90 TT Auto - can i still turn the boost up with a manual boost controller - and whats the safest level of boost a stock everything can take?

stock turbos are pretty good to 14/15psi , but i wouldnt use a manual boost controller m8..much better to invest in a good electronic boost controller..much more control and safer .... try one from chris at getgreddy...

Greddy profec B matey is a good introduction to boosting up your Zed. Ive got one and i know alot of others have. There are better controlers out ther but it depends on what you want. Its so simple i did it LOL

Just as a matter of interest what sort of bhp can you expect from a standard car with the boost up to 14 psi

also remember you just cant up the boost!!

 

you need a chip to up the fuel etc before you can up the boost, think ztech do the jwt ones or john dixon does them :)

oh and the profec b is a great boost controller and not an entry level controller as it does everything you want it to and you will find alot of the big power cars all run them as they do exactly what they say on the tin ie control the boost very well and doesnt have some bells and whistles on like some other controllers

I would improve the breathing with an Induction kit and cat back exhaust before upping the boost, and as Kirbz says, a ECU Chip to ensure the fuelling is correct.
