  1. James, not thats its relevent but I have done several Z32 cambelt changes myself, watched about a dozen being done and even shown a few owners how to do it themselves !!! My Shop is in the building next door to a 300zx specialist garage. Cambelt and Waterpump involve the exact same labour. Removal off : Fan shroud & Viscous fan Radiator Water pipes PAS, Alter, AC belts Crank pulley covers I've not said the cambelt needs to come off thats a 10 sec on top of the above labour for both jobs...and thats the point !
  2. Exactly !! You were the one that said its an hour and a half !
  3. do you only charge 1.5 hours labour for Zed cambelt changes then ? considering its Exactly the same labour! - Not sure why then you think that the above 5 hours labour charge for cambelt change, oil change and front pad change was a good deal then !
  4. becuase you dont want to pay all that labour again to replace it 5 miles down the road. Both are part of the 60k service.
  5. There is a Shim kit, which includes washers to alter for desired camber. or smithy does an excellent range : http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/susp.php
  6. My 19's are a perfect size, have'nt affected handling (except in a postive way!) or ride(!) or the speedo(same overall circumference as stock) and came in at a reasonable price with tyres :D
  7. Yes they fit and Fronts are the same. (Rears on UK have adjustable acutators, the Japs dont. But Japs will fit UK still.)
  8. Its all time relative. Todays Supercars and very different to the "supercars" of the 70's,80's, early 90's......etc It has the performance and looks of a supercar, but the reliablity, build quality and costs of a mass produced "sports car". Supercars are super expensive, super unreliable and super horrid to drive! Its not a supercar, thankfully!...the media invented term "supercar" are cars at the extreme end of the market....not cars you can drive everyday. The zed is a sports car with supercar performance (for its time)...a "Super sports".
  9. That sounds about right, although I would'nt of replaced cambelt without replacing water pump (they both have the same lifetime).
  10. Sorry mine sold now. It goes in your Induction pipeing (where the maf is) and you apply pressure to it using a Compressor or air pump and listen for leaks around the engine bay.
  11. If Mowgs has sold his now, then I also have one available in my list of bits for sale : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=77257
  12. Well deserved !
  13. LOL....I like all zeds, be them baby ones or grown up ones
  14. LOL your at it again pete ! ;) I have driven every Z32 type, many times, and the truth is that the Condition of shocks, springs and bushings have a far more drastic affect than the Chassis type!. As does Suspension setup, wheel size and tyre choice. Its a shame that half the zeds out there are running around on old, worn suspension - and they never realise the handling and ride potential even with a stock setup.
  15. UK & JDM the same. Auto's are less powerfull, but have cam changes and smaller tub impellors to improve response, aimed at assisting performance figures. JDM is limited to 112mph UK limited to 155/165 ? Capable of 170+ in standard form. Exhaust, Chip, Induction and 1bar boost will give 40-60hp increase. When my was at that level, I did timed performance runs. Timed by Datasan software they uses the ECU speed signal and starts and stops automatically. 0-60 mph - 4.77 secs 0-100mph - 11.98 secs (TT Manual) Both times could easily be beaten with practice.
  16. Red key is vallet key, so you can lock glovebox and give your key to somebody else and they cant get access to any valuables.
  17. what sort of differences do you mean ? They are shorter, with a shorter wheel base and shorter overall length. Virtually every panel from the A-pillars back are different. Only 2 seats ofcourse. Deeper boot. Lighter weight. Handling feels slightly more nimble and responsive at lower speeds, but not as secure at high speeds.
  18. I love em.....prices coming down to.....but there are many horror stories about reliablity and awfull build quality. Brutal handling, not really a car you could drive everyday, especially in bad weather.
  19. Take it to a decent paint supplier (halfords have cost me a fortune in paint mixup ****ups in the past!) ...and also take in something like your Petrol cap for them to match it as well as the paint code.

I've seem much worse, as clarkey says they are clearly stating it....on some adverts you'll get full details of a product and all its spec, then in litlte writing at the bottom it will say "winning bidder will receive box/picture only"..etc
  21. hundreds of polls on same subject. One thing to bear in mind is that some have been decatted, then 2,3,4 years later they develop a turbo seal problem - is it down to the decat or not !?

Scam. They have 13 feedbacks as buyers of items all worth about a penny each. That unit is worth £450+

If the cat heat light is coming on, then fuel not getting burnt properly, which points to Spark. The most likely culprits are Coilpack breaking down, coilpack connector corroded, a break in the PTU harness or the PTU itself.
