  1. LOL...perhaps I should'nt admit to having tried it a few times, and its no problem :x:
  2. Have driven, been in and worked on a fair amount of Supras, both TT and NA.....they are very comparable cars, I would say neither stands out above the other in making a choice between....it more comes down to which you personally prefer..IMO. Performance is about the same, although driving experience is different. I dont get on as well with the supra handling, they feel more cumbersome at first although you get used to it and they handle well, a bit more tail happy than the zed. Zed feels more planted on the road at high speed. The Supra is feels a little more prestige, and the zed feels a little more sporty. Build quality is a bit better on the supra, although nothing wrong with the zed Build quality. Rear leg and head room(2+2) and boot space is bigger in the zed. Both are easy to get the first 50-100hp extra,,,,after that the supra is cheaper. Both just as tunable as each other though. The zed actually makes more power and torque per PSI of boost then the supra.
  3. Its a LOT easier to get the back end out on a TT, over an NA...and the Hicas makes very little difference...but can be bypassed with a Hicas eliminator easily (Hicas only give a max of 1degree movement, and only between certain speeds). Although an NA can be easier to hold on the limit with its lower and more progressive power. TT front steering is not "slack", its the same as the NA rack. 2.7 turns from lock to lock. The U.S market did however get a faster steering rack than the rest of the world, with a 2.5 turns lock to lock setup.
  4. Yep, there thirsty buggers around town and when your "playing" , but on a long motorway journey the cruising mpg is respectable. I've seen 32-34 mpg with the TT, and a bit less with the NA.
  5. He will have had the VOSA VIC test, you cant put it back on the road with out it. (and its just an identity check to match up the VIN numbers...etc)
  6. 1) Paul 2) Legrath (not Z) 3) Anna in the pink one 4) Na kins 5) Lisaf and Wow300 in my grey one 6) Zogg 7) Dannyzx 8) turbopsychosis 9) s-tune 10) Jimmer 11) Greg 12) Paddy 13) Yewcheck 14) CJ 15) JoelyP There are also 14 Supra's coming
  7. I've had several Cat C and Cat D damaged vehicles and its never caused an Insurance price increase
  8. Toad, have one of the (if not THE) best reputations out there, but as said quality of the fitting/fitter is very important.
  9. You need to be a Paid Subscribed Member to PM. Im sure he'll be along any moment, otherwise you could start a "FAO Andy Duff" thread
  10. Welcome Back Trev. Take her along to SWZ Performance (bit of a bonus since you last had a zed....a 300zx Specialist (and the only club authorised Z speciaist garage!) right on your doorstep....just down the road in Rooksbridge....Paul@SWZ is already familar with the car too. Hicas light usualy means low PAS fliud however from your description it sounds like either the steering wheel is not on straight (or if its aftermarket it may not have a Hicas boss), could also be a problem with the Hicas rack.
  11. Keep an eye on the North west meets section, and pop along to the next Meet....Im sure somebody will take you in one....and you get to have a good look around lots of zeds and meet the owners :)
  12. The 200sx and pulsar are certainly a lot cheaper to own/run/maintain/fix (insurance, parts, modifications, Fuel consumption)....but you do get what you pay for ;)
  13. Welcome, and Congrats. Bit of a bargain price there, well done. Keep the NA rear end, its lighter and the Gear ratio offers a nice accleration improvement. Instead of swapping the EFI loom just fit an Electronic boost controller as, only difference is the boost selenoids wiring/connectors. The best way is to get a Complete donor vehicle, rather than souring parts seperatly as there are lots of smaller items like Intercooler ducting, brackets..etc that are easily forgotten about until your half way through the job. Brakes are the same providing NA is newer than 1991. Sway bars are thinner on the NA and spring rates are softer. However they are all parts that are worth upgrading anyway rather than fitting stock TT parts.
  14. All Insurance companies tend to list differnent models in there own "special" ways. Fairlady=300zx . Fairlady was the name Nissan used in Japan, but not in the rest of the world. While there are minor differences in spec/trim between UK and Jap, the term "fairlady" is just a name. For insurance purposes, if it says fairlady then its almost certaintly referring to an import. Z32 is Twin turbo only, insurance company just using its own naming policies. Just be carefull with looking at insurance for an 1989 model, as it is the crossover for the Z31, Z32 and some have been caught out...same goes for UK vs Jap. Best way it just to phone them. Houghtons, Admiral, A-plan,Liverpool Victoria, Adrian flux...are all popular 300zx insurers.
  15. LOL....your wrong, trust us we've been doing this for years ;)
  16. 18 no comments allowed !
  17. 52mm or 60mm, its up to you. Electrical or mechanical. They should all come with the nessesary senders. Those Gauges supplied by SWZ are great quality and have the spec of gauges costing 3x the price and have been getting fantastic reviews
  18. names added and merged from list in SWZ section 1) Paul 2) Legrath (not Z) 3) Anna in the pink one 4) Na kins 5) Lisaf and Wow300 in my grey one 6) Zogg 7) Dannyzx 8) turbopsychosis 9) s-tune 10) Jimmer 11) Greg

Just beware of Detonation/Pinking...as a Japanese Developed ECU it will be setup for higher octane fuel than we get in the UK. Be sure to always use V-power or similar high-octane fuel.
  20. Its just vinyl stickers, easily removed. Seen FAR worse permanant zed ****-ups PMSL  :x:
  21. gearknob screws off (some unscrew easily, others need a lot of force). The gaitor will then come off with the plastic trim, and its held on with a metal plate from underneath.
  22. Its in 2 sections. The front part that surrounds the gearstick and has ashtray in and the rear section that consists of the Storage armrest and handbrake surround. There are two screws that you will see after you remove radio surround and one under ashtray. The rest of is clipped in and pulls off. That will remove the front section. Once front section removed, you will see another couple of screws for the back section, and 3 screws under the felt inside the storage armrest compartment.
  23. The Paul bailey , Zcentre and 300zxstyling cuts are all copies of the Strosek kit (with some minor alterations....like an extra scoop, or front fog lights...etx)
