  1. AIV is same for NA and TT. It supposly can cause it to run slightly rich at idle, but its nothing to worry about. All of the Uprated ECU chips disable the AIV if decide to fit one later. With the EGR you basically unbolt it all and blank up where it enters/exits the plenum, and again where it enters the Passenger side Exhaust elbow. You can cut of the existing flanges weld them up and refit them. You can also do the Plenum water bypass.
  2. You need to PM the Membership secretary : steve-300zx your Details - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=70641 If not already done so.
  3. Welcome. Any car will understeer if you enter a turn too quickly, but the benefit of Rear wheel drive is its easy(very easy;)) to power it into some serious oversteer. You can alter any understeer/oversteer tendencies by fitting adjustble Anti-roll bars too. The turbos are not sequential. They are two small turbos that spool together.
  4. If the smell is from the exhausts...then yes. If its from the engine bay or anywhere else than you do have a leak. Leaks are common as temperates from approaching winter. Follow the fuel lines from the Filter to the Fuel rail and check for split pipes and loose clamps. There is also a 3" piece of pipe under the throttle cover and the front of the plenum between the throttle linkages.
  5. This has been posted many times in the past...and is incorrect!. They are the same for Jap and UK. 069 is wrong. You want 068 for fitment. Varley and Ultima are popular for there range of batteries, from Lightweight Race batteries to High powered Batteries for Large I.C.E installs.
  6. ASC (American Sunroof Corporation) who supplied the parts for Nissan to produce the convertable, made a Folding Hardtop....im not sure as to wether this was Manual or electric though.
  7. As a run around daily driver you would have to be buying it becuase you have some sort of passion for them, as for the price you could buy a much newer, better and cheaper car to run.
  8. yep 1.2 kg/cm2 is 17.02psi .....which is just above the limits of the stock injectors and can cause them to lean out with potential detonation and some nicely melted pistons. Standard is 9.5psi. 14/15psi is the recomended max with stock intercoolers, tubs and injectors and an upgraded ECU.
  9. Welcome :) NA manual - low to mid 20's average I'd say. Although the 300zx did'nt end production till 2000, it came out some 3 years earlier than the Supra, and despite both cars being direct competitors to each other many see the 300zx as an older car. Most Supra's tend to be 94-96 cars, while most 300zx's are 90-93...despite later versions being available. Im not keen on the Supra Interior, although it is well built. It has zero rear leg room and a tiny boot in comparison as well. Has better brakes too and switchable traction control (possibly TT only?). Both cars offer quite different driving experiences. Both are near equal in all traits, but the 300zx feels like a sportier car to drive and the Supra feels more mundane IMO

Ryan sold up and Ztech was under new management. Have'nt heard anything since though. SWZ Performance are not that much futher. Near burnham-on-sea, somerset. They are probably the biggest UK zed specialist garage and the forums only Garage trader. See traders section
  11. Im pretty sure LPG is 100ron, unless something has changed recently, however the cost to install and map to a turbocharged high performance vehicle is far greater than a regular car....it becomes pointless.
  12. Car would need to be mapped to make use of the 102 ron fuel. Ideally you would need a Dual mapped ECU. Its designed really for cars being used in Competition. Its about £2.40 a litre.
  13. J will be series 1. Early K's are often series 1 too, later K's should be series 2.
  14. The other end passes all the way across back of engine bay, pass engine, pass battery and plug in to a Piece behind the wing. The AIV system passes fresh air into the exhaust system to improve emissions. However after 15yrs its not likely to actually be working correctly and the Zed will pass MOT with or without a working AIV system.
  15. Congrats Joel, Sounds great. :duffer:
  16. thats a LOT more expensive to rebuild than a Zed engine!

Cant make this, will be on hols. Zed wont be ready anyway :(
  18. I had a mate with a Fizzie when I was 16.....we machined the head on it to raise compresson except I dont think it was perfectly flat becuase it used to have bugger all compression until it warmed up lol I had a AR50, rebored to 80cc, Performance reed valves, ported heads..etc The rest of the bike was a POS but it went like stink.
  19. LOL anyway..... A Full manual conversion kit will go for about £750, and would be in more demand as a full set........so I would say up to £500 for your parts. NA engine.......hard to say.....not many come up for sale, and there is'nt a lot of demand.....so you could be hanging onto it for ages until you let it go for a few hundred...or somebody could blow theres up tomorrow and yours is the only one available and get £800 for it.
  20. Yep, thats why you would need a full cage
  21. I believe the REO was looking at holding the next SW meet in Gloucester, but a lot of the members want one in plymouth...so not sure whats happening.
  22. Z1 motorsports sell them. Im not sure if anyone has actually bought any yet though. They are designed for Off-road race/track cars only, You will need a Full rollcage if you fit these.
  23. Around 11am I think  We have 1 postman for our entire village
