  1. You'll need to undo the centre two bolts holding the bearing carrier to the chassis either way, wether you split the middle or undo it from the diff. Dont lose the two big spacer washers that are on the bolts. Pay attention to which side of the carrier they go, as its quite common for people to fit them back in the wrong place which leaves the prop out of alignment. Personally I always split the middle, and leave the rear part attached to the diff. If you split the middle, mark the prop with something like Tipex, so you know whcih way it joins.
  2. or a woman with... actually better not go there LOL
  3. yep, Good idea, maybe even an old fan belt (twist it around it to tighten and pull it round), or an oil filter remover.
  4. A Pair of stilsons or large adjustble pliers and Place a bit of cardboard between the teeth to protect the nut
  5. Nice one. I saw your car up at SWZ last week. A Very clean looking UK car.

  8. Si, unless im missing something, It IS the Kaminari flushmount we are talking about ? http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_12&products_id=832
  9. more kaminari pics I have on my PC : Red & Yellow Z's Before & after
  10. Looks like prices have gone up from Japan for boost controllers, but I did find a seller in Australia selling them for £152 + £11 postage - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trust-GReddy-Profec-B-Spec-II-Turbo-Boost-Controller_W0QQitemZ190257891175QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190257891175&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177
  11. Its not really any cheaper than something like the Greddy Profec B Spec II
  12. As per thread on other forum ;Lets Drift/Eileen phoned the chap up. Said he did'nt seem to know much about the car and was just going on what the seller had told him when he bought it.
  13. Brembo dont offer a bolt on "kit". The brembo's I did mention (GTR, 350z, Evo..etc) , are standard factory fit items that will fit the 300zx (some straight fit, some with brackets already designed by others), but are not suitable for serious track work - Thats why there are so many available 2nd hand. You could adapt a bigger Brembo kit to fit (F40, porsche, range rover..etc), from another vehicle, but it gets all "custom" then.
  14. With 17's definatly no bigger than 330mm , and only some 17's would fit, all depends on the size of the calipers and the particular spoke design of the wheels. I know that having tried myself 4 different sets of 17's none of them would fit over some 350z Brembo's....but there are some 17's that do. For the occasional track day you could get away with the GTR/350z/Evo Brembo setup, with a decent set of pads But for regular track work they wont cut it. The K-sport's are actually getting a good reputation, plenty of folk are happy to criticise becuase of the cheap chinese/taiwanese origins though. Then there is the big name reputable brands - AP Racing, Stoptech, Rotora,
  15. Front spoiler, rear spoiler, skirts = Front bumper, Rear bumper. Skirts Agreed. Kaminari rear spoiler. I never used to like it but its grown on me...a LOT.
  16. Other driver hit you, his fault.
  17. sh*t dave :( DId you get reg of the astra...or is it easily recognisable ? Your boy ok ? How bad is the zed ?
  18. definatly standard brakes, and yeh there is no such thing as a 99spec skin. Still nice though.
  19. Use a bushing press to remove old ones and fit new ones.
  20. It has best for sale advert I have seen in a long time
  21. The colour mine used to be. Looks quite nice. I would'nt be worried about value Si, your Wheels, stance, suspension, Retrim and pure attention to detail makes yours stand above others. and slightly off-topic the 2nd pic has made my mind up about Smooth vs Tailgate skin, been looking for a pic like that.
  22. Moving away permantly Mark ?
  23. Yeh, Motor factors like Halfords sell the belts for about £7 You'll need a 12mm and/or 14mm spanner or Ratchet & socket to adjust.
  24. How did they know which belt you required ? There are 3 belts - One for PAS, One for Alternator and One for Aircon. Its more than likely that whichever belt is squeeling just needs tightening which is a 5min job. They should'nt be charging more than an hours labour to replace the belt anyway. Its safe to say that the Nissan dealer you spoke to did not know what he was talking, and its likely he quoted you the labour price to change the Cambelt, not an auxillery/fan belt.
