Clutch pedal info
Yeh, I did mention that , I've always found it easier to reach from up top but It can be done both ways. The trouble is Im usually doing it with the car on the ramp with limited door opening room so I take the easy route and save the blood headrush LOL I hate working upside down under the dash....heater matrix jobs are a real headache.

lowering advice
Yes, I believe the black one is lowered. Its a deceptive picture because of the grass. Its MickeyB's car who used to be a well known member here and the Owner of Zworx - 300zx specialist garage. No idea where he disappeared to though.

lowering advice
30mm would be about right IMO The popular Eibachs are only 20mm. I believe MJP can supply custom springs of any length and spring rate you require for the Z32.

Exhaust Questions
Getting hold of branded exhausts, especially Japanese brands in the Uk for the 300zx is difficult. Nobody really imports HKS..etc for the 300zx here and the cost to import is very high. Those that do have them fitted were fitted back when the vehicles were n Japan. There is very little between X and H style, although X is supposed to have the performance advantage but they tend to be louder with more drone compared to a H system. Most exhaust systems are from the Cat back. You can get hold of Aftermarket decat and downpipes as well (I would reccomend reading up on turbo seal failures after fitting decats first before making your mind up). There are also manifolds available, but its an engine-out job to replace. Most people prefer the Twin system for looks, although a single does sound great.

yep. thats it ! if you unclip that white plastic clip holding the loom to the bracket and bend the bracket up a bit you can get a spanner on there....a ratchet spanner is ideal.

how much do tt engines go for?
anything from 300 - 1000. Expect to pay around 700 typically for one that you can hear running first and has compression test results. ...does this mean your driving license points have now cleared Gaz ? LOL

I've purchased a couple of sets off ebay and they were too blue. Danny@DTA say he is able to supply a set that match a 6k HID kit.

Are all gto tt's cack?
Only ever driven an NA, it was.....un-impressionable. Personally I think they look gash, big fat with stick on plastic vents all over them and the interior is ugly.

Been searching for alloys for about 3 months now....
No worries here about their quality. They are a popular mainstream manufacturer.

I finally did it!!!!
I play wow...but its only ever very late at night when wife has gone to bed and I would otherwise just be watching crap on TV. Im a bit of an insomniac anyway. I'd prob feel guilty and get moaned at if it was at any other time. I do get moaned at for being on this forum though...or if I even mention the Z !

Ideas for a cheap, economical car?
A3 1.9tdi / golf 1.9tdi ?

Ideas for a cheap, economical car?
You will want to be looking at either petrols up to 1.4 or 1.9td diesels. The diesel would be quicker. The Newer usually the better for economy.

Been searching for alloys for about 3 months now....
Im no fan of big bodykits and stick on crap.....I like quality well made parts that suit the car. Proper split-rim alloys like the Work equips, Volks/Rays, BBS..etc will only ever be seen on high end machinery. They are far stronger, lighter and ooze with quality. You can really notice the difference in person between a set of Quality wheels and a set of cheap ebay knock-offs with fake bolts, poor paint finish and no lacquering like so many people tend to fit on there Z's unfortunately. Everyone has an opinion but wheels like the Kahns are cheap and they look cheap, they really are designed for saxo driving boy racers which is why most of the wheel widths available are so narrow and places like Halfords sell them. I personally dont mind the style but what Im saying is that your observation about genuine split-rims seeming cheap/"chavvy" versus the kahns could not be further from reality. Many of the premium brands do offer Plainer styles. its not widearch  ...or were you just talking in general?

Another Sunny day thread !!!!!!!!!
Correct. Its to aid with brake cooling. More important for the front than the rear though. Not really important. Rob, phil - if you do decide to swap them around, then check if your tyres are directional as well, if they are wrong then you should really swap them over. If they are right then you would need to swap the tyres round before swapping the wheels round. (not entirely sure that sentence made sense)

ive been offered a swop
Dont worry, its not an issue. Like I said it only affected the M52 and M60 engine.
-
ive been offered a swop
Nikasil. Nope. That was the 92-95 V8 and some of the Straight-6's
