  1. I would opt for some decat pipes if I was you. Gutting the stock cats is effective but not as effective as proper replacement decat pipes. When you gut the cats you are left with a larger expansion place which slows down the air passing through it before it pushed it back out the other end.
  2. Your will be a Series 4. Unfortunatly nissan reverted back to tweed in later years, albeit in a more attractive black finish.
  3. I think that the general concensous is that if a Uk 240z has not had a recent £10k restoration rebuild then its a rustbucket in need of a £10k restoration. Post more pics... :D
  4. Some more that do it for me
  5. Did you or a previous owner buy from Nissan ?
  6. Lisa and Dave will be at Zedfest on Sept 11-13th and offering Tinting services.
  7. I would change it to a smaller pinhole version and fit in in place of the Boot lock instead. Nobody would ever know it was there.
  8. The Manual aircon, with twisty knob was standard for all Convertibles and was standard from 96 onwards when they made the Digital aircon an optional extra. Some very early S1's also had the Manual controls. There really is nothing to prefer the S1 over the S2 though. Unless you have an unhealthy obsession with tweed lol. I agree that there are possible reasons to prefer the S1/S2 over some of the later series cars though. Personally while I would prefer a S2 to a S1 it would not be essential to me when looking for a car. The most noticable difference is the Interior material and that can be retrimmed.
  9. Ssshhh, u ruined it LOL Did you know the word Gullible is not in the dictionary ?
  10. I wouldn't bother. Yes, It moves the boiling point higher, but it also increases the chance of leaks due to the higher pressure.
  11. He said he wanted an S2, but you said the S1 was best and listed lots of reasons, but what you listed is the same between S1 and S2. Looks like you mistook the S3, S4 changes for the S2 changes, and you said the aircon is better, which is incorrect.
  12. S1 and S2 has same spoiler, same hicas, same boost gauge, same clear/orange lights ;) The difference is no tweed, you get Alcantara or suede panels instead. You get seatbelts on the pillars instead of doors. You get Improved Aircon system - Its the same digital aircon, but you have a direction button to control where airflow goes and 4 speeds instead of 3. Much better than the S1 unit. (popular upgrade for S1 owners) S2 is an improvement on the S1. Its the S3/S4 onwards where you get different spoiler, hicas, ecu, injectors, no Boost gauge, no VVT and when nissan started skimping on costs.
  13. It only illuminates if you put the key in the right way up, must of been putting it in upside down previously.
  14. No, do not modifiy the throttle to open fully! This is a well known misbelieved "modification", but the reason the throttle does not open with butterfly valve fully horizontal is because of the angle of the intake pipes into the throttle bodies. The throttle valve is designed to sit at the same angle as the upward angled intake pipes. The stock throttle opening angle provides max flow, and opening it up fully will only restrict flow. There is a before and after dyno comparison with this "mod' and the car lost power with the throttle opening further.
  15. just this I believe - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=128453 to be able to get your membership pack
  16. Apologies is this sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many people do this - Check the little button on the drivers side window switch is not pressed down, that turns off the passenger window !
  17. Very cool, but repost from today http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=130103
