Who would you reccomend for engine work?
Jimmer , based in Bristol, has a good reputation here and specialises in engine rebuilds. Forget "stages", no such thing really. One persons interpretation of a Stage is entirely different to another. What sort of budget do you have in mind and are we talking RWHP or FlywheelHP ? What are your aims for the car - What do you want to use the car for - for the road, or track work, or 1/4mile , or just looking for big numbers on the Dyno ? There is a risk with a 3.2 litre overbore of the cylinder walls being too thin, obviously cyrotreating helps. The other option is a Stroker kit.

Speaker set up??
As already said by others if you want sound quality go for high quality front components (mid, tweeter, crossover) and a decent sub and amp for the boot. All the high and mid tones are handled by the fronts, and the Sub for the bass. No need for rears, and dont bother with 6x9's

How much? empty block with uprated internals.
I reckon you will get more if you sold most of the parts separately

One Moody Zed
sounds like a missfire issue,- an Intermittent break in the loom, corroded connections or a PTU breaking down - will cause engine to feel rougher and sound rougher, with vibration as you drive.

The agony of choice
No difference in reliablity. There were apparantly some minor engine revisions in 1990, but never seen proof of this. The Advantage the 93 has over the 89, is trim improvements - You should have either velour or suede instead of Tweed and some other changes such as improved climate control system, seatbelts moved to the pillars instead of doors. Ideally you want to purchase whichever is the best condition rather than anythign else though, but both being the same - go for the 93.

Engine swaps, what would be interesting in a 300?
I think the only engines that interest me for the z, other than the VG ofcourse, is the VH45de V8 or the Rb30det. Both Nissan engines. Im not really a fan of fitting an engine from another manufacturer. The VH45de is an amazing engine, the base for Nissans Race engines and the engine Nissan had wanted to use for the z32 originally. The Rb30det is a custom engine, built using the bottom end from a RB30 R32 Skyline, with the heads and turbo setup from a later RB25 skyline.

Leather Interiors
I have retrimmed 3 of my own Z's interior panels and fitted a seat kit to one, and also had the panels done professionally on my slicktop. If you buy the seat kits then its possible to fit them to a good standard yourself. May have to redo some places several times to get the best fit but its doable. But as for the panels, I have never seen panels retrimmed to a professional standard by anyone as DIY who have just bought the material and cut it themselves ! There is always wrinkles, creases, and bubbles in several places whenever somebody retrims the panels themselves. I was never happy with the work on my own panels and whenever I have been in other Z's or somebody posts pics on here of there own panels you can always spot flaws. For it to look right the panels need stitching. I had my SWB rear panels, and the centre and door armrests redone by a professional retrimmer in leather and the high quality of the job just doesn't compare. Everything stitched in the right places to avoid stretch marks and Im very pleased with the work. I paid about 300 for this, but was quoted 500 to have all the panels done, but the rest of of my panels are original suede so I left them.

How many Zeds left?
I reckon club numbers can be used as an indicator but that figure is how many people have registered here in total over the past 10 years, rather than current active members / z owners. I'd guess the actual number of Z owners here would be more like 10% of that figure max. ...and then I reckon that out of every 1 club member Z I see on the road, I see 2 non-members. So my theory is about 1500 in the UK currently.

Oil Filter for NA
Get it from Nissan and 4 litres of oil is enough. Fill her up to 3.5 litres, then use the dipstick to get the level right from then on. Oil can be quite slow getting to the Sump on the VG so carefull not to overfill.

NA rear brake pads
They are the same.

Zedless
Im really not sure wether to be saying congrats or sorry to hear Marcus, as like you said, the experience has had such up and downs for you. Did you manage to get a decent amount of cash breaking her ? Plans to spend the money on another car ?

Which tein suspension ??
You may find that the tein's even on their highest setting will be as low or lower than your current setup. The EDFC only alters damping, and not ride height. Im suprised your having ride height issues now though, the eibachs are barely any lower than stock yet I know of quite a few strosek kitted owners suspension running a LOT lower than stock, but they do have issues with speed bumps. Anyway, the Superstreets are your entry level coilovers. The main downside to them is that they do not have independent adjustable height. Which means, although you can adjust the height, in doing so your also adjusting the load on the spring. So lower=stiffer, heigher=softer. The monoflex is a far superior coilover, with monotube dampers and independent ride height. Personally if you were looking the monoflex, then I would consider the SPL/Powertrix/KTS/HSD (all manufactured by HSD) coilovers. Which are similar spec and quality to the Monoflex, but for the price of the superstreets. They have a very strong following in the states and very highly regarded in this price brackets (the next price bracket being 2k upwards competition track dedicated coilovers). You dont have the EDFC option though, but they do also offer a Road version, which has additional "helper springs" designed to soak up the smaller bumps, while the main spring handles the larger bumps and forces put on the car, whch results in a smoother ride for the road.

Ebay postage question
I dont believe Si had cocked up. If you only put the one price then thats the UK price. If an international bidder buys without getting a price outside of the UK then thats their fault.
