Gauges, cant see..
yes, but its far worse on smoked gauges. I have fitted a lot of gauges to peoples cars over the years and the smoked versions really do suffer in sunlight compared to plain gauges. A normal gauge is readable without any backlighting, but a smoked gauge by design requires backlighting to make them visible, and ofcourse backlighting is not very effective in sunlight. A peaked shade will help though, providing the light is not entering the cabin at certain angles.

anyone got a 240z
Im not so much a fan of the 280 and they are not very sought after. But I quite badly want a 240/260. I have to stop looking at them.

Fitting a Scarab Bumper
You have to fit the metal mounts and brackets from your stock bumper onto the new bumper. Then you would need to drill the extra holes where it bolts to the wings. But, as with any Fibreglass kit you can expect fitment issues. Best left to a bodyshop if your not experienced yourself. I'd personally never fit a fibreglass front bumper.

Gauges, cant see..
That is a problem I have noticed with all "smoked" glass gauges

Anyone Know This Car?
I know this car personally, and its a very tidy example http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=127834 Very high spec, but may not be what your after http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=129424 Well known car that has had a lot spent on it http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=128701 There are a couple of Nice SWB's and a slicktop in the for sale section too, if you decided they do interest you. I may have missed some out, either becuase Im not familiar with the car or simply forgotten/had'nt realised its for sale. This was the car I mentioend before, unfortunatly it sold a few days ago, but gives you an idea http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=123730

Anyone Know This Car?
You just missed out on one such car - A Cobalt green 1996 300zx TT Manual, owned by steve300zx However there are a few other special examples in the for sale section currently, depending on what you want. Btw, I think the 99 NA in your original post is definatly worth considering. A 99spec is a very rare find indeed and it looks great in Black with the Tan leather.

Anyone Know This Car?
It was a 99spec option. The U.S also had a Tan option in the earlier years.

Anyone Know This Car?
The 300zx uses two small turbos that come on boost at the same time. You get the benefit of quick spooling, but with the same power output as a single large turbo. Each turbo feeds one side of the engine. The entire layout means that each 1500cc bank has its own turbocharger, intercooler, and exhaust system. There are a LOT of bad examples out there. It really is a case of weeding through the trash to find the gems unfortunately. But find a good one, and look after it well and all is good :) I have driven many Z's over the years that would of put me off them for life, if I did'nt know what a good example is like. My advise would be to test drive as many as you can, everyone will most likely feel very different to the next.

Other than the job of actually replacing a turbo, both the are the same to work on. Both engine bays get very hot, which has an affect on electrical connections and looms over the years, the TT probably does suffer a little more than the NA with this I agree. Bottom end trouble is not a common issue with either, although where I have pulled a customers Z engine that has spun a bearing or shot a rod out the side of the block its actually usually an NA, becuase owners tend to rev them much harder. But as said, its not a common issue and has only really been from bad maintenance, allowing oil levels to drop low. The Z32 really isn't as hard to work on as many would believe, with the exception of having to pull the engine to replace turbos. IMO both the NA and TT have their Pro's and Cons, but I would not consider reliability to be a major issue when choosing between them. In general, if you buy a good one both the NA and TT are very reliable cars. More so than most other cars of similar age, they are a Nissan afterall. The Majority of Z32's are from 1990-1992, and you dont see many cars on the road that old these days.

lol, whoever told you that is rather ill-informed, but it all depends on what you want out of the car. I've owned and love both versions.

Anyone Know This Car?
This car was discussed a couple of months back, when it first went on sale. The advert suggests its an NA, If it was a TT i'd have thought the seller would of said. There are no clues in the pics, I would be very suprised if it was a TT. price-wise I think thats a great price for a 99 NA. Prices for 99spec TT's seem to be more like 10k-12k

anyone got a 240z
That is a lovely example. Seen is a few times at Japfest and got some pics of it somewhere. Damn, wish I has 12k available

anyone got a 240z
I'd love to import a rust-free 240z from from of the Dry U.S states. Convert it to LHD, drop in a Vh45de and modify it one day...one day The grey (eleanor style) one posted previously is one of my fav's, here are some more pics - a mixture for different tastes, but all modified: and for some reason this pic really does it for me

which is more cheaper to run or maintain? E36 M3 or 300ZX TT.
Forgot to say the most expensive car I've owned to maintain was my Bmw 5 series, which cost me 1100 pound once to put it through an an Mot, mostly suspension bushes, they tend to eat them up quickly. But thats not to say all Bmw's are costly, although part prices are on the high side, but whatever car you buy its luck of the draw.

Rear light panel
That does look like the factory light up rear panel connector. It used a Electroluminescent strip, rather than LED's. It is however missing its invertor, so you would need to get one for it to work, then it just needs a 12v positive and an earth feed to it.

Specifications
Stats vary depending what you read but typically : 0-60 of around 5.6 seconds seems to be the most common time. 1/4 mile of 13.8-14.2 seconds Top Speed is 155 Limited (175'ish unlimited) These figures tend to be for the Manual, i dont recall seeing any Auto tests. Car and Driver Magazine had the fastest recorded time of 5.0 secs in a SWB TT manual and 13.8secs 1/4mile Power is 280 or 300 for the TT Manual, depending on which you believe. (U.S was quoted as 300bhp, and Europe and Japan 280) - Thats a whole other thread topic. The Auto is less powerfull, Nissan UK quote 263bhp, and Nissan U.S quote 280bhp. --------------------- With my first Z I did a comparison test between stock boost and 14.5psi Boost, using Nissan Datascan to measure it, which uses the Vehicle speed sensor. TT 2+2 Manual Induction kit Catback exhaust & decats John Dixon ECU 265/35/17 Falken-452 tyres On stock boost I recorded a 5.5 secs 0-60 and 14.1 secs 0-100. On 14.5psi boost with the same mods I did a 4.7secs 0-60 and 11.9 secs 0-100. .

High mileage zeds
That Z is very familiar...well the wheels anyway..on here......

High mileage zeds
You tend to see higher mileage Z's in the U.S, but not so much here with most being Imports who ofcourse all come over with the obligitoary 55-60k lol :x:

which is more cheaper to run or maintain? E36 M3 or 300ZX TT.
I wouldn't even consider it as an important factor. All my previous Z's have cost peanuts to actually maintain, no more than any other car, but a lot less than some much newer cars I have owned. Just your regular servicing every 5k miles or so, 100% reliable.

will this work?
Using an oil cooler from a Z is fine but Im not sure if you would have a suitable external oil feed pipe on the Volvo you could use though. A popular setup is to use a aftermarket Oil filter adaptor with an inlet and outlet for an external oil cooler. THe same sort of filter adaptor people use to fit Oil pressure/temp gauges.

Mines ECU on E-bay
He means Zogg's engine blew up. I dont know if the Mines ECU had anything to do with it, I dont remember the details, but thats what Si meant. Mines supply their ECU remaps to the Japanese Domestic market, in various forms, from mild to aggressive and dependent on supporting modifications. Purchasing a 2nd hand Mines ECU is a but of an unknown, and personally I prefer to know what sort of Map my car has fitted.

Help - Check out this 300zx in Norfolk
That looks very nice. The Pearl yellow is a very rare extra cost option. Spoiler is a common issue, ifyou like the style of it then you can repace with a fibreglass replica.
