Improving your short / quick shifter
Short shifters are not actually shorter, they sit no lower. Its the throw that is shorter. (the amount of movement required from one gear to the next) **although you can get a short shifter that is shorter as well.

There is also the option of Bronze bushings. I've fitted them to mine and provides much better feel than the nylon bushes and will last forever.

Double din centre console
Nice one, look forward to the pics. Its a lot of work getting teh final finish perfect, but gives you a lot of self satisfaction. I custom fabricated mine myself. Si's was from http://www.z32zone.com but a third party agent in Japan is needed to purchase from them.

Wow new Alfa
RZ/SZ front end is sexy as hell, but the rest of the styling is all wrong IMO.

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Its not. Because they are bolted straight through to the main support, all those extensions really do is act as spacers. If they were to actually sheer away from the main plate itself it would'nt make any difference.

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Now you mention it I seem to recall 2nd diagram being posted....with corrected info.....cant find it though :-/

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Hard to say....but the biggest difference is price - Evo brembo's are typically a lot cheaper than the more widely known GTR brembo upgrade option. Even with the added cost of having the brackets fabricated you can save yourself a few hundred pounds.

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Evo Brembo's are quite a bit larger than GTR brembos.

no, not true. Lol & 7,9...and the round 0 - Audio/satnav advice?
sorry, that did sound really negative towards carputers, I did'nt mean it that way - It was fantastic, it did everything I could of asked for and I enjoyed developing them and improving with new features all the time. It used to attract a lot of attention at meets too. What I meant is that it will always be for the enthusiast only, rather than going mass public. Hard disks - Use a 2.5" Laptop drive. Built to handle shocks much better than a 3.5" PC Drive. Never had any problems with vibration or bumps, and ofcourse being slimmer and quieter is an advantage also. I used to use the VoomPC case (compact, vented and heatsinked and looks like an Amp) with everything mounted with rubber washers.- Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo

I first installed my carputer in a Z in 2005, and after getting a lot of requests to do others, I started a business Selling and Installing In-Car PC's. Unfortunately it just was'nt profitable in the longt-term enough to sustain because there was far too much customer aftersupport needed and there started to appear a lot of all-in-one Chinese made In-Car PC's appearing on the market for such little money. Back then we all thought this was the future, but 5 years later the Situation is no different. Ultimately they just cost too much, require to much setting up and configuring and can never be as userfriendly as a dedicated headunit, no matter how good the front-end software is.- Audio/satnav advice?
The System would presumably be a complete unit, that you just need to wire up the usual power inputs and speaker outputs.....but the GPS receiver for the Satnav will probably be seperate and you will need to include this also...could be built into part of the standard trim of the original vehicle though.- Is there a built in Oilstat in the TT or...
Cant find decent comparison pics, but anyway Jap is a tiny 6row cooler and UK uses a 19row Cooler, that is both wider and thicker also. The Jap cooler is inadequate for Higher speed running and increased power. Those who have an OIl temp gauge and have upgraded from a Jap cooler to a UK or equivelent will know about the Temperature difference in heavy traffic and hard use. The Stock Jap cooler can actually be cool to touch after a hard run becuase the oil is so hot that its thinned too much to open the pressure check valve and is'nt even circulating to the oil cooler !! Try it yourself, after a good blast you oil cooler should be hot to the touch.- Is there a built in Oilstat in the TT or...
UK Models have a MUCH larger oil cooler than Jap Models. Standard UK fitment is 19row 235mm wide. This is also sold as an optional Z "Nismo oil cooler" to other markets. There is no oil stat, instead it uses a pressure check valve.- UK adjustable dampers?
- UK adjustable dampers?
Yes, UK models definatly have rear Adjustable dampers with electronic actuators. You can check yourself just by removing the boot trim to access the top of dampers. i have never followed the wiring myself but according to the Wiring diagrams in owners manual it only goes to the handbrake switch and warning light. In the Owners manual it shows using the handbrake switch to diagnose the rear suspension adjustable damping. No mention of how it operates in any other way. Its a Mystery ! U.S models have adjustable front and rear shock absorbers with a switch to change from Soft to Hard, where the Mirror contols normally are.- Full respray - what to look out for?
Some of the Window trim pieces are very expensive, such as the rear window rubber. If the Bodyshop wants to remove them then check prices with MJP first so you know all the costs. The clips for the Roof trim strips often break on removal. If your having extra's done such as removing rear wiper, despoilered..etc then be aware that the tailgate is componsed of an thin outer and inner skin and any holes larger than .5mm should be welded rather than just fibreglassed/fillered, as the skin has a lot of flex. - Why numbers are shaped the way they are
