  1. Single exit sound by far the best to me, the sound is amazing. Im much more a fan of the Straight 6 note rather than the V6 note. Like the Supra, my favourite thing and the only thing I prefer about it to the Z, is the Sound. The 'V' burble is glorious on a V8, but not as pleasing on a V6. Unfortuantly I could never live with the looks of just a single exit.
  2. Whats your Favourite type of exhaust - Single or Dual exit system ?
  3. Cruise control ECU is in passenger footwell, labelled A.C.C.S. The Wiring is part of the Main loom but I have no idea if the loom is shared or if it differs. I dont recall ever seeing spare Cruise control ecu connector in footwell and cruise control actuator connector in engine bays for non-cruise controle equipped cars though.

  5. I drove a Z1, back in 1999 I think it was. A local import garage on an old Airfield used to specialise in E30 M3's as well as Lancia Integrales and they had a Red Bmw Z1 in. I'd never even heard of one, but the owner let me take it for a sedate drive around the airbase. Thinking back now, I do believe its the only one I've ever actually seen in person.
  6. I quite like the 1 series, would have one over an A3 or Golf.....would get one for the Missus. Never been fussed over the Z3. Certainly not Vile, but not very exciting and got dated looking quickly.
  7. Not sure about these days, but the 8series used to be as cheap as muck, nobody wanted them. Its the car Bmw are most ashamed of, and was a complete sales failure. Received a lot of criticsm as poor replacement for the old 6series.
  8. It fits in place of the stock MAF. There is a Valve on it to attach to air compressor. The gauge itself is there so you can keep an eye on the amount of pressure your applying. You apply 4-5 psi and listen for leaks around the engine bay.
  9. There's no need to with that method. That pic is from Z1 site. I went with the Full NA setup on mine.
  10. Yesterday was bad but Its been Dry and Sunny all day here.
  11. People just loop the pipe that goes to the Hicas rack, back onto the return pipe....there are various method but something like this does the trick : http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=2474 If you do opt for an NA pump like I have, then you will need the NA Resevoir and the NA Pump Bracket - The advantage of this is that its a fair bit lighter and tidier.
  12. 1200-1500 sounds about right in my experience. Thats about the price the trimmer I last used was charging for Interiors. I had my SWB rear panels, centre console arm rest, and door armrest done and that cost me about 350. I've also re trimmed 3 Z's myself, its certaintly cheaper but if you want it perfect you have to pay the professionals. Out of all the retrims I've seen done over the years in person, not once have I seen a job that I would be 100% happy with, except those done professionally. If you want to save money on the seats then buy one of the Leather kits and fit that yourself. Its possible to do a really good job fitting them if you take your time, but getting the panels perfect (in leather) is a very tricky job and best left to the pro's, unless you dont mind imperfections. They are cheap because its plastic, and it shows. I paid around 450 for my genuine leather seat retrim kit in my first Z and that was a bargain. Takes a good full weekend to fit.
  13.
  14. Standard UK Iron Caliper (rather than the Alloy version)
  15. I would consider an Aftermarket water temp gauge essential ! Stock one is innaccurate and non-linear.
  16. Agreed. Its the bolt and the main bracket that the forces are put through, but if you have the option to have it remade in one piece then go for it. Tbh, its not much use speaking to the "engineer" that made them anyway as its very likely made by a machinist and not an actual engineer. This country is terrible for mixing up the term "engineer", in other countries the name is protected but here is handed out to any job title (sorry, personal rant). If your concerned then find a qualified Mechanical engineer (or motorsport engineer may be more applicable) to inspect it.
  17. Perhaps have a word with Mike @ MJP. I understand he does a range of custom spring options and may be able to provide a set that would be ideal.
  18. There are a lot of wheels of similar style to the LM, and quite a few copies too.....but its when you see them in person that you can appreciate the quality difference rather than in pics I feel.
  19. they are one of the most expensive/high quality looking wheels you'll see in person. Thats why I love them so much.
  20. My 99spec Black 2-2 TT Manual. Think it was a xmas pressie a few years back.
  21. Awesome wheels. Go for it !
  22. ah ok, good Thought you were going on just the pics then. The Inner wing damage you can see in pics would need further inspection in person.
