  1. Just took the alloy down to my local engineering company who say they will be able to make a socket up to fit, but they need to remove 1 of the bolts first!! I have left it with them so hopefully they can do this. Im sure it wont be cheap though!
  2. The rear alloys are 29 offset and the fronts are 35. What recommendation in tyre sizes would be most suitable for under the wide arches? and what size would i then run on the front to keep rolling radius the same?
  3. Went and tried the Torx socket on them this morning and it didn't fit!! To make matters worse i also received the following email back from Enkei - Thanks for sending photos, we could get to know what you need to remove. Please kindly be informed that the Phallenx wheel is 3 pieces composition wheel, and the bolts you pointed out are used for assembling outer / inner rims and center disk. Sorry but the assembley bolts are not subject to remove from the center disk. Therefore we don't prepare any removing tool for customer use. Thanks ENKEI Great eh!? Running out of ideas now.
  4. Luckily i have one of the rims in the boot of my car! Really do hope that the Torx socket will fit or im back to stage 1.
  5. Will check the Offset tommorrow. I could only run 255's on the rear due to arch rubbing when i tried 265's. This was when it was standard. Im assuming that they are quite an aggressive offset in this case, if that makes sense!
  6. What size of rear tyre's are the Wide arch members running? I have 3 piece 10x18" alloys going on the back which need new tyres. Trouble is i dont know what width of tyre would be best. Also, does the offset of the alloys affect what size of tyre will fit under the wide arch? Lastly, will i need a spacer with 10x18" alloys with a wide arch kit?
  7. Excellent!! Theres a machine mart about 1 mile from my house so its round there on Monday morning. Cant believe ive spent the last few days emailing Enkei in Japan and US and got nowhere! Few hours on here, problem solved!!!! :hyper:
  8. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/pro44-14-pce-tx-bit-set Found this on Machine Mart. would this do the job? If so, Big Thanks to snoopy!
  9. Exactly! Was hoping someone would know where to get such a socket! I am still trying the States but it isnt easy.
  10. My wheels are at the refurbishers waiting to be done, however they dont have the correct tool to loosen these bolts! The wheels are made by Enkei and were only sold in US and Japan. They are split rims and i cannot find anywhere that has a tool to fit these bolts. I just need to stop them from turning as the nuts on the back are loosened. As you can see the bolts have 6 slits in them where the correct tool will fit into. Does anyone on here have a tool that would fit these bolts? Or any suggestions where i could get one? The overall size of the bolts is about 10mm.
  11. Has anyone who has done a manual conversion kept the cruise control and if so what was involved? As Funky Si says did they need a different ECU for it to work? Any other parts required for it to continue to operate?
  12. When doing a manual conversion can you keep the cruise control to work on the manual box?
  13. Phil is a top bloke and did a lot of work for me in the past. I can recommend him and would use him again. ;)
  14. As above, Z Tech is close to you and Chris is a sound guy ;)
  15. Chris, the new owner at Z Tech is up and running. He is just along the M4 from you at Stratton st Margaret. My car is there at present and i know he is taking orders for work. ;)
  16. I have recently moved back up to Glasgow after 7 years down in England. BAZZ, Barry Michael, Glasgow, 1993 dark blue manual LWB TT
  17. I was only at the garage for about 20mins before i had to catch a bus! There were 3 Zeds, 1 Yellow cant remember the other 2 as i was fighting to stay awake! Chris ran me to the station in his Z which has only just been run in and he hasnt turned the boost up yet and it is very quick!!!
  18. Left last night at about 10pm and only made it as far as Manchester before the worst vibration ever started! Pulled over and checked wheel nuts etc before having to get the recovery company out. It honestly felt like i was driving a washing machine on full spin and the noise was deafening! The recovery guy thinks that it could be the diff or rear driveshafts. Both rear wheels felt like they were loose and you could move them about 2 inches easily just by putting your hands around the wheel. Not Good. So here i am in Heathrow 14 hours later waiting for my flight at 1300! Only good thing was i got to meet Chris, the new owner of Z Tech, who is a really nice guy who owns a nice Z and is genuinely enthusiastic about the cars. Will find out the extent of the problems next week. Next stop the bank manager!!!
  19. To cut a long story short, the engine was built by Z Tech and the new owner Chris has agreed to honour the warranty that Ryan aka Baggins (the old owner) gave with the rebuild.
  20. Got my green flag incase it all goes pear shaped! I used to drive from London to Glasgow in the Z about 4 or 5 times a year and it used to be good fun when the z was running fine. I suspect this wont be enjoyable though. Nothing worse than driving a car when you know it isnt running well, constantly worrying about any little noise.
  21. I know! I will be taking it VERY easy. Getting it down there by any other way just isnt an option. It is frustrating that in the 7 years i have had the Z i had virtually no problems but in the past few months i have had 7 years worth put together!
  22. Got to nurse my Zed from Glasgow down to Z Tech in Swindon tonight! Leaving at 2am so as to arrive first thing and then its a bus to Heathrow and a flight back up north at 1300! Its another journey that i really could do without but after not having my zed for 12 months and then once i get it back being told not to drive it for fear of it going bang! it is an essential journey.
  23. Talked to Chris yesterday and it sounds like he is really trying to rebuild Ztech and make it his own business. He has already made some big improvements/decisions that can only help the business. I got my car back from the old Ztech after being off road for a year waiting for a forged engine rebuild, only to discover that the engine is not producing more than 250bhp and that the guy at Dastek Dyno centre said it was dangerous to run the car as it may damage the engine! I had spent an awful lot of money and imagine how i felt when i found out that Ryan had sold Ztech the next day. Chris has promised to rectify any problems with the car and although i have only ever talked to him on the phone he sounds genuine and enthusiastic about making this work. I have owned my Zed for 8 years and know how difficult it is to find quality mechanics for them and i wish Chris all the best in his new venture. All i can say is forget about the old Ztech as it now no longer exists and lets give Chris and his team a chance to demonstrate that they can meet the high standards that we as Z owners demand.
  24. Just booked in in to DASTEK for next Thursday to do a diagnostic run. The main problem that they think will be being able to access the information on the chip which is one that was fitted at Ztech and most probably done by John Dixon. Does anyone know if and how these chips can be modifed if needed?
  25. I think there is some sort of fuelling problem when on full throttle, either over or under fuelling so i am looking to get this rectified then i will do a power run. Cheers for the suggestions lads.
