Rolling road in Scotland?
Just got the car back after full engine rebuild and is now fully run in. I am now up in Glasgow and looking for any recommendations for a rolling road in the area. I used a company called AVA about 10years ago and would like to know if anyone else has used/recommends them? Or any other rolling roads in the area?

Adding cruise control?
Is it possible to add cruise control to a manual TT? If so how much work and what parts would be involved?

Running on five then six
All wires have been well and truly wiggled and cleaned! Because it is intermitent that is what i think it must be but it is going to be difficult to locate which one it is. Last night when it started to run on 6 again i rechecked the coil pack on no2 and it did make a difference to the revs which it hadnt done before. Not mechanically minded seeing as Ryan had to point out to me what a coil pack was in the first place! but seeing as this had changed do you think it is pointing towards a problem around the no2 coil pack?

Running on five then six
Started to run on five cylinders last week and wouldnt go back to six. Checked coil packs and no 2 was doing nothing i.e when car was running taking it off didnt adjust revs. Went over to Z Tech and was getting fuel and spark but compression test showed to be very low (130 if i remember correctly) and on no 1 was even lower, i think 100. Anyway back home i came and suddenly it started running on 6 again and felt like nothing was wrong. This morning i have taken her out and refilled with Tesco 99ron, on way home she dropped back to five then after a few mins back up to 6 again. Could this be anything silly or is it time to rebuild the engine?

Headlights - Chrome or HID
Got both Chromed inserts and running HID kit. Chromed inserts look brilliant, not sure if they make any difference to performance of lights though. HID's are a must as the original lights are awful. It was £85 to get the inserts chromed properly, no way would i just attack them with chrome paint! The end result could look poor and may not last :wack:

What a Joke
Because they stopped in the fast lane of the M4 details were exchanged quickly!!! We still have the womans details in her handwriting which we hope will show that she must have been involved otherwise why would she give them out! No names of witnesses were able to be taken which is a bit frustrating but my missus had never been involved in an accident before and didnt really know what to do. Just as well the daft bitch who ran into her offered her details or we would really have been shafted! There was very little damage to the hire car and we probably could have gotten away without saying anything in hindsight but i thought we were doing the right thing at the time. The hire company have had the corsa repaired for £700!! It could have been done for about fifty and i would have paid it and saved my other £450 plus all this aggro :smash:

What a Joke
I hired a corsa last year (feb!) for my girlfriend to get to work in for a couple of days. When driving in the fast lane of the M4 in heavy stop/start traffic a stupid bitch ran into the back of her in a VW Toureg. As the traffic had completely stopped both my girlfriend and this woman got out of their cars and the woman gave my missus her details written out by her! On returning our hire car we informed the company of the accident and that i had filed a police report. I had to pay £500 to the hire company even though this was not our fault and was told that when they recover the costs we would get our money back. I have spent the last year chasing this trying to get my money as the woman is now denying all knowledge even though she admitted to the hire company she was involved when they first contacted her. Now after all this time it is going to court.....IN MANCHESTER!! Because that is where the defendant wants it!!!!! We live in Wokingham near Reading and have to now get time off work and go there. I cant believe how stupid this all is and to top it off i just received a copy of the womans defence where she admits to following behind my girlfriend on the M4 but denies the collision! Then why the **** did she get out of her car and give her details to my Missus!!!!!? :headvswal

Sway bars
Cheers lads, At least i can let my wallet recover for a couple of months before getting them :D How easy are they to fit or is it a job best left to the proffessionals?

Fitted New Momo Handbrake
What gearknob is that mate? Does it fit down over the tapered part of the shaft (oooer!) or does it sit on top? :p

Sway bars
Is there any difference between whiteline and stillen ones? i.e Adjustability? My Z is currently getting KYB and Eibach shocks/springs and also Adjustable front control arms and Tension rods fitted. Once this is done it will require 4 wheel alignment. Ideally i would like to wait and fit sway bars after a couple of months just so i could feel any difference they make after i am used to the new suspension but would i need to get wheel alignment done again after they are fitted?

Tyre sizes sorry to ask..but whats going on
For keeping the same rolling radius of your wheels 225/45/18 should be paired with 255/35/18 and 235's with 265's ;)

No more brake squeal!
The problem always was that Nissan dont make a shim kit for these brakes so it is good to see that Ryan went out and got a set made up. I have talked to loads of people who have had the same problem and believe me it was highly embarrassing driving in town! ;)

No more brake squeal!
For all of you that have R33/34 Brembos. Ive had mine for about 3 years and had tried everything to stop them squealing. Different pads and discs made no difference and even the boys on the gtr forum were stumped as what to do. Ryan at Z tech has just fitted his new anti-squeal shims in and NO MORE SQUEAL!!! This is a must for anyone with this upgrade. :hyper:

60k service
Z Tech is just down the motorway M4 J14 or J15. It takes just about 1 hour from Heathrow. ;)

FOA Chromed Lights Group Buyers
Built mine up last night and they look great! Stripping down my other set today. The plastic inserts on them have been done with the tin foil appraoach many years ago and it is leaving a sticky residue when i take it off. Any suggestions what would be the best stuff to use to remove this before i take them in to be chromed?

Anybody interested in a GB on chromed lights??
Cheers Allan, Rebuilding them this afternoon! Brakedust300, If all goes well when i split the other ones i will let you know and can sort something out if you want.
