  2. I had the chance to do this two months ago when I decided to get my covers powder coated red; as you say, fairly easy job just ensure there sealed back up ok with the right stuff!
  3. Just fixed my zed and its now 100% since the blown plenum gasket i had; So, As you do i took her out for a spin 30 min ago; must say the power now was simple amazing and the roar from the engine was bliss ! Heading up the A76 towards prestwick doing about 85 i overtake a few cars on the left lane which i guess was doing about 65'ish and just as i start to over take the first car - F * L * A * S * H From the rear quarter driver side somebody flashed me. Now; what i would like to know was this a traffic cop type flash or could it be just the average joe taking a nice pic as i flew past ? I phoned my brother and he seems to thing i would have got pulled if it was the traffic boys but i'm not so sure. If you were on this road less than 30 min ago and eyeballed me with a flash then fine; else aww foook ! else
  4. Just found a spare gasket in my hut so if the weathers ok i'll atempt to put the old plenum back on.
  5. OK, I went all mad today and strip'd down the plenum & found my problem straight away ! Well i hope its my problem. When i took off the plenum and discovered oil all over the rear part of the gasket. I've decided just to try and put the old non polished plennum back on and see if all my problems go away for now, likely this happened because there are a few suttle differences between a series 4 and series 2 plenum and you can't get a properly flush seal.
  6. Yip, Its like a game of guess who for us ! lol
  7. Pic will not display for people that are not registered with the other ahem - cough site!:whistling: Try host the pic with photobucket!
  8. Have you got newer LED bulbs installed ? Could be there polarity is wrong way round.
  9. hey buddy, busy on saturday ?
  10. So where abouts you from and you got or getting a zed !
  11. Can we start one that leads back to our club !
  12. No idea who started this or how longs its being going on but do a search for the number 241543903 on google images !
  13. Yeh, - Nothing happens !
  14. lol, was thinking that too, don't like cream colours in any car !
  15. You're not that far off the 10K limit either ! only differnce is when you both joined - you being in 2003. This just proves he talks sh%t quicker !!:thumbup1:
  16. all the vac pipes are new - and i'm sure there hoked up right again. i dont have a proper deep socket to get the pcv valves off without taking the plenum off.
  17. right - any ayrshire lads gonna help me do a plenum swap this saturday ?
  18. and an extra one replying to you !
  19. Yeh, Weather permitting I'm swapping the plennum back on Saturday !
  20. Right, striped down the dash and popped in my old cluster with and without the convertor and its still farts like a 2 bob hooker after a rear shafting ! mind my language as i'm frustrated now over this problem. I've checked all connections, run conzult and no errors so the only thing i can think off is a massive boost leak at full throttle. I've had soo many problems with my zed since i swapped the plennum for the polished one that i'm tempted now to swap back just to prove my own point to myself - that the plenum just does not fit properly on my series 4. Bummer !!
  21. He Lives !!!! Woooo.
