The back lights are plastic welded or glued to the tailgate and come down to reach the bumper much like a skirt. I saw this on facebook earlier and I too thought it was photoshop'd.

Seriously, Got a set of these and they've got most of them out easily. Video is just a demo on it, but search on youtube and see some real examples.

Just need a left turning drill bit ! No kidding, drills in the opposite direction and it should bite and unscrew. Spray some sort of rust eater on it to clean up what thread can be seen. I've had some sheared bolts on my zed and managed to get them out this way.

Have them out for an overhaul.
