Right been meaning to post about this for about 5 days now, but since the hot weather kicked in, ive had a strange fuel smell in the cabin when ever the car has sat at idle for a while, when moving it slowly clears. Now when it happens, if i pull up and open the bonnet there is no smell from the engine bay, just in the cabin, and if i stick the A/C on, god its like im sniffing the pump at a petrol station the smell is that bad. In fact its kind of worrying due to having the kids in the car as well, ive checked all pipe work under the hood and cant for the life of me work out where the smell is coming from. this happens once the engine is warm. so in short Smell of fuel in cabin, but not under bonnet. Smells worse when A/C is switched on (well when the fan is on as my AC is disconnected) Im not losing water, the interior of my car is not soaking wet. so its not the heater matrix. any one know what else it could be?

where did you get the material, I've been looking all over for a color match and yours looks like it does, good job though matey, really need to do mine just need to find the material.

Strange thing is, i thought the same when i first see one, then when i worked at BMW for a bit, i got the chance to look around a top of the range one. and have to say fell in love with the look when standing in front of it, when the roof was down, plus all the toys it came with. didn't like the price tag from new though.

not as far as im concerned, i love the aggressive look and its mahoosive, if i drove one of them, my head would be so far up my own arse id know what label is on the inside of my shirt :lol: And unless you live in central london, you dont tend to see many on the roads.

Retest isn't always free, i paid £27 for my retest as i took it away from the test center and returned with in 7 days, its also (as stated on the fail sheet) that its up to the test center if they charge a fee or not, but cant be the full test fee for a partial retest.

Anyway, how much was the indicators as extras, i swear they must cost half the price of the car, as no one who drives the 3 series around here, seems to have got them as the optional extra :tt2: Give me the M6 vert anyday, thats one sexy BMW.

Sorry stella, im the same as Knight on this one mate, they all want to race me, cept one with the roof down sitting at a round about on the A45, he gave me a nice little nod in acceptance of a nice car i was driving with the roof panels off while he sat beside me in his M3 with the roof down. But there 10 to the dozen around here. kinda boring to look at due to the amount of them around here, you get accustomed to seeing them all the time. and i really don't care how refined the drive is. BMW drivers around here are always up there own arse. I do how ever like the look of the 3 series M3 vert, but couldn't see my self owning one to be honest.

- seat belts, make sure they buckle up and stay when pulled - all lights work, brake lights, fogs, side lights, indicators, hazards, number plate bulbs - Body work, make sure there are no sharp areas of the body work, if a bumper is damaged and has a split in it, gaffer tape it up - Body work, excessive rust in areas that will cause a tester to put his tool through it, check the wheel arches or anywhere there is structural integrity at risk - Can you open both doors from inside and out side the car. - All rubber gaiters on the steering arms, can not have splits in them. - steering wheel, grab it with both hands and see if you can shake it from side to side and up and down, there should be no free play in the steering column - If you can jack the car up, check all sides for play, grab the wheel at quarter to 3 position and shake side to side, then at half 12 and shake up and down, there should be no free play (even if the suspension moves, the wheel and hub shouldn't) - Exhaust system, check for signs of leaks, it can still pass if the leak is small and at the join, but anywhere else and it could be a fail point. - tyres, check to see if there is sufficient depth IE not on the legal limit, that there is no side wall damage. - check the windscreen washer jets on the front only, they need to squirt and clear the screen sufficiently - exhaust smoke, any black or blue smoke emitted could fail the MOT if its excessive - check the drivers seat for free play, it should be bolted firmly to the chassis of the car. - IF you have a spare wheel, it needs to have a legal amount of tread on it and no side wall damage, it doesn't have to be inflated though - if you want to remove all the wheels and check the brake pipes for excessive corrosion, surface rust isn't a problem, but if its there wire brush it off and sand it with a bit of sand paper, dont go ape over it, just enough to make it look like its not rusted to hell. - Hand brake, tap it from side to side, it shouldn't disengaged if tapped. it needs to fully engage between 7 and 13 clicks depending on car, but its easily adjusted on the 300zx anyway. - check brake disks for scoring, and check to see if you have enough pad left on the pads.

since 2009 when i got my first one, ive only ever seen 3 on the roads, 1 used to drive past my house, the other was Big300 i bumped into on the A14, and the other was parked up not far from me with a blown head gasket. All the others i know the owners too so dont count lol

Amazing how they made the vectra more aerodynamic considering the front end doesn't actually look like it should be. Though then again, with a zed's OEM front bumper hitting the air flat on. its no surprise it has less Aerodynamics. though 0.28 vs 0.32 cant really see that making much of a difference. Just thought id start a debate about it. as aerodynamics of our cars don't usually pop up on the forum lol

Just because its based around the running gear of the vectra doesnt make the calibra a vectra. its named different for a reason - Marketing :lol: Anyway, Calibra sounds better than Vectra when you talk to people :tt2:

im glad you said that, because if you were a DJ, you definitely wouldn't say that 8meg songs are quite rare lol Most extended club remix - tracks are around 8 to 10meg. But it also depends on what bit rate they are ripped too. 128bit rate is a lot less in size than one of 192, or even 300 odd.
