  1. it should be a plug and play affair, there should be a harness with it, you unplug the connector out the back of the ignition barrel and plug the harness supplied into the ignition barrel, then plug the OEM ignition cable into the harness, all you would need to do then, is run the kill wire to the hand brake switch, so if someone jumps in your car while the engine is running, the moment the hand brake is released it kills the engine.
  2. if you havent cleaned at least one item in your living room, your not a true zedder mate  hell i had my wheels in the bloody bath for a nice relaxing scrub.
  3. nice finish, what kit did you get in the end, that looks a fantastic shine, id use tiger seal to get the bond together, plus it can work up to high temps as well and should leave no gap for air if a continuous bead. but if someone else has used something else, or the correct stuff for it, im sure they will comment.
  4. head gasket isn't that hard to change, just make sure you get the correct one for an uprated engine, i see no harm in changing it as a matter of course if thats what you want to do, its just a case of getting the plenum off, cam belt covers off, aux belts, and removing the lower crank pulley and lower cam cover, removing the timing belt, taking the cam covers off and removing the head bolts, it would be advisable to use new head bolts though, i know some people say you can use the old ones, but they do get a bit of stretch, just make sure to bolt them up in the correct pattern when you put them back on, and to the correct torque settings. While your there you may as well change as much as you can like the cam-belt, tensioner and idler pulleys, just remember to get your heads skimmed though for the new gasket
  5. unfortunately its not as easy as just lowering the cost of fuel, for that they would have to remove some of the tax off it, the fuel its self isnt the problem as far as cost is concerned. i think a lot of people who sign these petitions fail to realise that if they remove some of the tax, even a 1p drop, the government have to offset this else where to balance the books so to speak we live in a debt laden country and no matter how much its killing us to fill our cars, we would be better off focusing on stopping councils spending cash on useless items first to lower our spending as a country on the whole, then once we have stopped that, cut pay checks in government departments as well for high paid people who don't do feck all, stop the ridiculous situation of tax payers paying for government peoples holidays and "perks", plus the second home scheme they run as well paid for at tax payers expense, we might actually be able to lower the tax on fuel. But then the government is good at forcing peoples focus else where like the unemployed, granted unemployment counts for a large portion of things especially when you have mothers who get pregnant just for the income. but when you have councils (take Northampton county council for instance) who spend over 500k on a water fountain in the middle of its town center, then welling borough council that paid over 250k for a tree to be carved into a large swan in a park that hardly anyone visits, and then redevelop the town center and rip up only 7 year old paving to repave it for something that isn't much better at the cost of over 1.2 million while leaving half the roads with pot holes around the town untouched, and while doing so, disrupt traffic to and from the towns center for over 10 weeks forcing a few local businesses to go bust or move on, then there was the issue of closing the local cinema, local night club, local swimming pool, redeveloping the local river attractions that basically didn't need it, you start to ask your self, just who is having these brilliant ideas, and why we even needed to spend the cash on anything like that when all its done is make the town worse rather than better. yes it looks pretty for the local counselors, but i can honestly say that most people i have spoken too have no idea why they even wanted to change it. All this and now we have to have half our street lamps turned off at night as the council cant afford to have them lit at night, forcing a rise in crime as people have nothing to do, and no lights to light the night up.
  6. Sorted out the pictures for you
  7. just checked the code you put in, you put the code in for the album not the photo, once you have uploaded the photo, click "save and continue to album" and then hover your cursor over the image, it will the give you options, you want to click the bottom option that starts with it will say saved to clipboard. then just paste that into your thread matey.
  8. nope, if you open the door and look between the gap the door created at the hinges, you will see it, its quite high up, i take it you have a problem with leaking inside the car, if so then you need to gain access by putting the drivers and passenger seats all the way back, then if you reach your arm up where the wing is on the inside of the car you should be able to feel for the tube, it most likely has come out from the rubber tube going through the wing area.
  9. both come down the A-Pillar and then connect to a rubber tube that emptys out into the front wing inbetween the indecator and the door hinges
  10. lol 3rd time ill say it :) hes lifting the shell off the gearbox and engine, not lifting the engine and gearbox out.
  11. id changed the bracket over already from a N/A one as it had a N/A pump on the engine before fitting, though i might try taking the bracket off and then mounting the pump to the bracket and then mountain the bracket to the engine. cant be any more annoy to put back on that whats currently happening lol
  12. im sure hes done that, as he is lifting the shell off the engine and gearbox lol
  13. best not tell you i took the gearbox and engine out of all my cars on my own then, you must of missed something though, did you leave the A/C compresser connected? or even the rear radiator hoses that go through the fire wall, or even the wiring loom, or even the powersteering pipes. shouldnt be that much else holding it to the bodywork if your lifting the shell off the engine/subframe
  14. start your own thread lol :P:ninja:
  15. OK we have all seen some pretty horrible things done to the zed, so thought id start a thread to see what ones are the worst and also for a bit of fun, so lets begin Then theres this thing
  16. UK or Japspec, reason i ask, is if its Jap spec with the seat belts on the doors, you could try sourcing some America belts, these can stay clipped in and the door open fully.
  17. Do your deletes mate and get rid of all the bulky pipe work, ive just done that and i can tell you, its a lot simpler to sort out than trying to re tube all that lot lol
  18. ok np matey, good luck in your search :)
  19. TT / N/A auto or manual? as i have a OEM TT auto rad in the garage doing nothing.
  20. i took the power steering pump off the car and left it connected in the engine bay like i did when i did my N/A engine change. well trying to get this damn bolt lined up so i can bolt it back up is proving to be a pain in the ass, any one got any tips or is it just a case of keep going until it eventually finds its seat? The N/A didn't give me this much trouble, I've been at this now for over an hour trying to get the rear lined up to get the bolt in place.
  21. I've got a window control module in the garage doing nothing if its that.
  22. not sure why you really wanted to remove the OEM 89spec front bumper purely on the basis of the grooves for the intercoolers. Also the way your ducting is your not going to get the best airflow over the intercoolers if your getting any air flow at all, first your trying to compress the air coming in via the ducting, then its got to direct it self with out help down into a large chamber and then through the intercoolers. If you keep with the ducting, it might be an idea to see about putting some fans in place to help suck the air through, if it was as simple as just pipe work, a lot of super cars wouldnt have the fans to help the air flow. Im sure though with the correct application of piping and some use of fans it could work just as well. or ideally you would be better off going FMIC.
