laugh away fuzz balls, the engine came out, the new one went in. with only a slight bit of paint scrape on the front bumper where the engine wanted to drag the hoist through the thing. other than that, perfect. Not bad considering the lack of a garage and a 4 poster :tt2:

been concentrating on sorting the engine and gearbox change, but some good news, engine is now in the car, bad news, forgot to put the bloody wire on the det sensor lol, good job i haven't put the gearbox on yet and there is no EGR valve in the way so should be able to get to it to fit the connection on. job done

i cant see how the police and government have handled this, is going to put any faith in the Olympics, hell if they cant get a bunch of low life scum off the streets who have nothing better to do with there time than steal TV's, loot and raid places, plus set fire to everything all under the cover of a napkin, then im not holding out much hope for protection in the event anything happens at the Games next year. totally agree with you on that, now just need a decent hicas eliminator bar, and a N/A pot to go with the N/A power steering pump, a light weight crank pulley, and chromed power steering pulley, have to admit, considering i polished that CAS up my self, it looks really good on the engine, well chuffed with that, going to give it a final polish as well as the water pipes and get some 2k clear coat on them.

and the over sized pulley, i think there is a Nismo gearbox mount on the old gearbox i took off as well, as its spanking new :blink: so will be getting that off before the gearbox gets weighed in

Yeah was a awesome day, was nice to meet up and actually do some car work with someone else who new what they were doing, rather than saying "nope your doing it wrong, no dont do that, what the feck are you doing" and "put that down before someone gets bloody killed" lol Also nice to find i have some nice new engine mounts on my old engine :) the bendy spanner was also quite funky lol though the highlight of the day, was finding how much oil a intercooler can hold lol

never seen anything like it, i new it might have some oil in there due to the state of the hard pipes when i took them off, but thats some serious blow past the rings to cause that, hell even the turbos on the engine, you couldnt move the turbine by hand very well, every thing inside the air intake piping system was just completely caked in oil. so its all had a good clean out, so glad i checked now as well.

car had been standing a while matey, it was a smokey engine, with a hole in the number 6 piston, took all the pipes off and gave them a bloody good clean out, left the intercooler in place, that oil was standing oil in the bottom, but got a rag in them and cleaned them out till no new oil was on the rag when putting the rag back into the inter cooler, and the biggest deciding factor of not getting the intercooler off. Some daft sod blended the bloody wings into the front bumper, and then into the side skirts, then the side skirts to the body. but yeah, about half a litre of oil out of both sides of the front mount. unreal matey, couldn't believe it.

Well today steams popped over to help tackle the engine an gearbox in job, but instead of doing that, we thought we would get the deletes done instead, tidy up the new engine, get the turbos off and actually just get the turbo housing re threaded. So while steams set to work on the carbon canister removal, i decided that considering the amount of oil i was showing in my intercooler pipes coming off the throttle bodies, id take the pipes off my Front mounted intercooler. well almost soaked steams with the first one, so i put the pipe back on, went and got a pot to collect the oil and this is what happened lol, click image to view video. passenger side of the intercooler Drivers side lol
