  1. i used tigerseal to attach my 89spec, but according to jims forsale thread about the same 89spec spoiler, its hanging off? lol
  2. So from the listing, doesnt say about engine mods, doesnt say about power out put, no mention of BHP, no engine bay picture, el cheepo ebay alloys and the guy wants 15k for it? as far as i can tell (now don't jump down my throat on this one as i know nothing of the car from previous posts) but going on what the ebay add says, its a bog standard engine with a wide ass kit on it, high level spoiler and an interior change. im finding it hard to work out how its worth 15k? it does look nice, but there are just as good examples out there that are going for a lot less.
  3. http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home ordered some from here, nice and easy and do paypal as payment which meant super speedy as a guest. gonzo, the wire is showing yes, but its also started to corrode on the other pins, so will be easier to just replace the cable with some non corroded one. though what i might do now that ive order the pins, is take the connectors off of the harness thats damaged and fit them directly to the new wiring harness on the car with the new pins and slot them back into the S2 connector, thus eliminating any "joining" of wires.
  4. the fine for driving with out an MOT is £60, plus you will need to produce an MOT with in 14days, or you could try your luck in court. But adding it up, £60 fine plus MOT = £115 Getting another garage to do the MOT = £55 (or what ever the current test is at as they seem to keep changing the damn thing) i know what one id opt for.
  5. im sure jimmer will correct me, im not the one who charges after all, but last time i spoke to jimmer, he said he always puts eagle rods and wisco pistons in on a rebuild. ok you will still have the Stock crank but thats not a bad thing in its self. may be i should of said, around the 3k mark lol
  6. thats the revised addition, nissan released the layman version not long after june 94 it contains many help full things for the less technially minded, like The PTU is the thing stuck on to the plastic front part of the engine, its got 2 cables going to it to help you find it, its also wedged inbetween the two hot pipes (if the engine has been running) cold pipes if the engine hasnt, getting too it is going to be a bit of a bugger if you havent removed the pipes going to the big rib cage looking thing on top of the engine. You will need arms like an octopus to get to everything you need, have fun changing it.
  7. jimmer does a full engine rebuild for around the 2k mark if you take just the engine, 3k if he has to remove it. But you will get a full forged bottom end with cosmetic head gaskets as well, so well worth it, plus the knowledge that you basically have a fresh engine in your zed. its also a lot better than just having part of the work done and running into more problems later.
  8. well to give you some idea, Nissan service manaul 186psi is normal (just came out of the factory) and is good 145psi is minimum (they advice checking the valve seats and piston rings) with no more than 14psi diffference between cylinders. id start planning for either an engine rebuild, or replacement.
  9. Fookin hell, don't need 100 of the buggers lol and why is everything in the bloody US
  10. its off the connection to my S2 PTU cable that i need to refurb, just wondering if anyone knows what this is as need to replace them
  11. yeah they are, i dont have a bench clamp so will be using some mole grips and a 14mm socket.
  12. yep, going to go for a 360 degree thrust bearing. will get me some of the cir clip pliers first so i can do it properly. but the housing is going on the turbos already on my engine. will refurb these, get the balancing done to make sure and then might stick them aside for when the inevitable happens on my current ones lol
  13. bit of strange usage of the spanners, and having to put a bolt back in, and started undoing the bolt against the spanner and out she popped. got the other side to do now. :) going to be a dab hand at get turbos off of manifolds at this rate. this will be my 3rd pair ive done lol
  14. woot, its off lol bit sooty but no sign of oil, slight play in the shaft. might even have a laugh and refurb them.
  15. http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/20051009.Garrett_T25_Turbo_Rebuild/ nvm found this, going to give it a try
  16. following this guide http://www.renault5turbo.free.fr/Stock%20FORUM/Documentation/T25_turbo_instruction.pdf but ran into a slight problem, it just says "remove the bolds and the holding plates" doesnt mention anything about the fact the bolts hit the bloody oil housing in the center of the turbo. tried pulling it off but no joy with the bolts half out.
  17. i can tell you now this kit fits an AUTO as thats whats currently on mine, i have the divorced waist gates coupled to the japspeed decat, and it goes around the gear box fine. though it does seem hit and miss. you should of held out for mine matey when i finally get it off the car lol PS, you should have no problem getting it on the car now its manual. Hollow, its to do with the oil pan on the bottom, the gearbox its self is the same size.
  18. would depend if the knock is really bad and is indeed coming from the crank. only problem is sourcing a decent engine with history so you know your definitely getting a good one.
  19. booking it back in to get sorted and actually getting it sorted, 2 different things lol ill let you off :) :winkiss:
  20. the vvt solenoid is not going to cause you to lose all your oil unless the damn thing has fallen out and your engine turned up side down with out you noticing. to fix the issue, Darren who knows what hes doing with 300zx's, would have to take the plenum off, and then the intake cam covers, undo the 2 10mm bolts to replace the vvt or at least its seal, then put it all back together. But still, your not going to lose all your oil from that if its leaking with the vvt in the way unless its been over the course of around 3 years with out fixing it or filling it up. ooh..... IE: didnt get it fixed.
  21. i think its part of the ejector seat mechanism, after all thats why we have targa roofs isn't it? (well some of us)
  22. a leak from the VVT solenoid is not going to empty the engine of oil. as its at the top of the engine on the intake cams.
