  1. You screw the ball straight into the threaded nut welded to the inner wing if you have one with a 5mm thread , i never did find what make and model of car the one i had was from :headvswal . If not take a normal 8mm threaded one to a friendly engineer and for a couple of beer tokens they would turn it down on a lathe and re-thread to 5mm , saves having to drill and fit a 8mm Rivnut , piece of pi55 :clap::clap: As for the strut we used tailgate struts of a early Renault Megane hatchback as they weren,t to long and not too strong , bearing in mind the light weight of the zed bonnet. HTH
  2. Right i,ve got the loom out , thanks for the info bud , i was asking whether the aircon unit could be removed completely but thinking about it the only way you can have it blowing on your windscreen is to have the aircon switched on so i,ve probably answered my own question , could anyone confirm this for me . Cheers
  3. Ooh , more work ! lol Can this be done with the dash in place ? Also i,m not using the aircon , could i remove it all and not effect the way the heater works both air circulation wise and electronically? Cheers
  4. How the f*** is it supposed to go through the bulkhead , there,s a plate in the way which i can,t seem to get too to undo if it is bolted ! . How have you got yours through , do i bend this plate out of the way ? , i,ve loosened the aircon to give a bit of clearance. Thought i,d ask before i break sommat important ! lol
  5. The Miester ones that have been mentioned on here just lately looked a quality bit of kit as well .
  6. This is what i,m thinking of doing , anyone done it with any success ??
  7. Good lad , you have your uses :biggrin::biggrin:

  9. Has anyone got a link for the PCV modification , the one taking a pipe from the top of the rocker covers to a catch can , my link doesn,t work any more and i can,t find it with a search !! Ta
  10. Okey dokey bud :thumbup:
  11. You can bud , Pete has had the front water pipes chromed :yes: also i think Z1 do a polished and chromed plenum but they aint cheap !!
  12. A plenum bypass which does away with using all those crappy little water pipes under the plenum and takes a water feed straight from the metal pipes that feed the matrix at the back of the engine to each turbo can be done with the plenum in place ( engine was in when i first did mine but then replaced with blue silicon later when i had the engine out ) , the battery will need removing and you,ll get a few scrapes but it,s quite a simple job once you get your head round which pipes need to be connected to and from the tubs . There,s only three you have to do , on the O/S tub the straight metal pipe going to the tub is a feed or return .HTH

  17. On the pump do you simply remove the pipe that feeds the Hicas unit on the inner wing and replace the Banjo bolt with some type of capping bolt to seal the outlet pictured ? leaving just the one powering the rack ? Ta !
  18. One word . STUNNING :bow::bow::bow:
  19. Hello stranger , havn,t seen you on here for a while , a stunning car by the way . What did it end up pushing out cos i remember you were after some massive horsepower ?
  20. The rebuild and upgrade has started , engine and box are now out , forgot what a bloody job this was , first time mantav8 and i pulled it to do the tubs and other bits the box was left in situ , pulling it with the box on was the obvious way of doing it this time , but was a PITA !! I,ve got divorced down pipes fitted , just lifting the engine and thinking it was going ok the O/S one fouled on the steering column , it was a bit un-nerving lying under the car to remove this with the engine hanging !! Gonna remove all the aircon gubbins , give it a good clean and then tidy up the inner wings as there,s some bubbling patches need sorting , should keep me busy for a while :wacko:
  21. Z Centre do silicon replacements as well . :thumbup1:
  22. Looking at the manual box i,ve got to fit i,d say yes but the question i want to ask , would a 10 row Mocal i was using on the autobox be a bit of an over kill on a manual ? sorry for partially hijacking your thread bud :blush:
