  1. Hiya Jimmer does it have to be wired to the neutral switch or can it be permanantly earthed without causing problems ? also which wire is it bud ? Thanks
  2. As Groover said use the auto alternator loom as the manual alternator loom doesn,t marry up with the connections behind the N/s headlight . http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=141740 I,ve also fitted a manual engine loom , basically there,s not many differences apart from the three connection that sit above your fuse box on the inner wing only has two plugs to go back into them , one was for the autobox and is now redundant .HTH
  3. IIRC The nuts got a normal thread bud :confused1::confused1:
  4. Mines got brass restictors in but i don,t think it,s any type of pressure restrictor i think it,s to stop any oil passing easily down the pipe into your induction pipes while still allowing the engine to vent , can,t really see it doing any harm not having them though .
  5. I fitted some a few years ago , N/S is easier as you can take the battery out to give you some access , the O/S was a bit more of a job , ended up knealing on top of the engine having took the bonnet off and reaching down to get to the top bolts , lost a bit of skin in the process but luckily all the nuts and bolts came undone easily . HTH http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=83168
  6. It,s suprising how good a zed heater actually is with a new matrix !!
  7. That,s just high build primer Nick:thumbup:
  8. OOPS :blushing::blushing: lol
  9. No bud , he,s got a bonnet bulge fitted but then the nose panel is modded to follow the lines , looks frigging stunning :thumbup1::thumbup1:
  10. Have a great one Chris :thumbup1::thumbup1:
  11. Cheers bud , i must admit i keep admiring your bonnet and nose panel mods , looks the mutts :thumbup1:
  12. I gave myself some slack in the wiring by releasing it from under the wing , but i don,t think i really needed to . The hole your trying to get it through just needs making slightly bigger by bending the bottom edge down a bit , i used a block of wood as a drift and knocked it down with a hammer , you can bend it back up after. Once i,d stripped the top and bottom cover of the fuse box and marked and removed the relays it went through with a bit of wriggling . IIRC isn,t ther a earth off the loom to the chassis leg just below the the fuse box ?? could that be stopping you bud .HTH
  13. Thanks for the comments lads , it helps make all those hours worthwhile :yes::yes: Got the door finished , primed and re-fitted , just need to move the car over now and start on the other side :crying::crying: Took a fair bit of filler to blend the door
  14. Now look what you,ve done , you,ve gone and made me pass 3000 posts !! lol , not bad in 6 years :no::blush::blush:
  15. It,s up to you bud if you want to go through your insurance but trying to fit half a quarter panel isn,t to be taken lightly , it,s a big job especially when it,s a used panel that also needs unpicking off the doner car first without destroying it !!
  16. You just have to take a couple of screws out and move the section of splash shield that,s fastened to the bumper as it,s a seperate section :thumbup1:. HTH
  17. It does look like it will repair but it,ll take a bit more than a knock out with a hammer , it,s creased under the petrol flap because it,s collapsed , acting as a crumple zone , it will come back but it either needs pushing from the inside using a Hydrualic ram called a Porto Power , this can only be done if there,s something strong enough on the inside to push off or as first mentioned it needs a pull to get it all to come back into shape and take the stresses out of it before repairing .HTH Look what i,ve just found on ebay :wink: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-LH-REAR-1-4-VALANCE-PANEL-NEW-/310212557603?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483a1bfb23
  18. See what it,s like with the bumper off bud and we,ll take it from there :thumbup:
  19. Filling that is , got the front wing blended and then got the side primed , just doing the door but they,re a pain cos there not flat along it,s length they,re concave , a fair bit more at the bottom and then nearly flat across the top so it,s taking a bit to get them blended nicely :crying:
  20. Jeeez bud glad your all ok !! Looking at the damage it may need a pull to get everything back where it should be before cutting any panels off , it,s something that should really be done on most medium and heavy bumps , it,s what,s known as reversing the accident , basically you know the quarter probably needs replacing but it,s all the panels this is welded to that need to return to there original position so nothing is under tension , making it far easier to fit a new panel . HTH
  21. Pah , call yourself a mechanic :tt2::tt2:
  22. ..Hmmm.. he mutters whilst tapping his fingers on his chin . :innocent: lol I do like that , was toying with changing my bumper but still undecided , i,ve got a front mount on it now and i,ve got to trim the bumper a bit for clearance but it seems a shame to cut up a 99 spec ! ..Sits back now and wait for a barage of pm,s about the bumper.. :crying:
  23. What front bumper have you got bud ? it looks the mutts .
