  1. agreed... and it makes a racket!!!! (or could have even just come loose...
  2. yeah, I still don't understand why people buy Z'd and make them look like something else. yes I know the stock ones are a little boring but with minimal work they look fantastic and unique! not stupid!!! like that one
  3. Hi, I just swapped my box out due to an issue with changing back down from 5th to 4th on the motorway.. if you want to rebuild you could either use it or swap it for yours and rebuild yours.. I was going to put it on ebay... it will most likely be about £90 to transport it... if you want it make me an offer.. :)
  4. Hi, yeah, I haven't forgotten or stopped asking them... they have been on order since I asked them but for some reason they still haven't arrived, I've been assured that they will be chasing them today... nice at the price but a bit pointless if they can't get them !!! I'll post as soon as they're in stock... :)
  5. Hey, I'm in Torquay and will be happy to nip over and pic anything up that you have left over.. cheers.
  6. I thought it was NA & turbo that were different? have you got any pics?
  7. Base idle adjustment guide... (in case you didn't know how) :) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=83687&referrerid=16305
  8. LOL.. he's had a number of accidents.... yes I may be coming to conclusions BUT really!!! LOL... FACT: if he was going slow enough to avoid the accident he wouldn't have had it.... LOL... irrespective of how slow that would have to be... so anything about Zero is a speed, and therefore a speed related accident!!! :D :D :D
  9. LOL.. that is exactly what would happen to Mr Bean !!!! he would get on the track accidentally and get the faster time... :D However, and more seriously he is a TW4T and a danger to other users on the road!!! if he had hit and killed someone you know you would feel a lot different about him. He should keep his fast driving to the track, which he can well afford to do!!! if this were you or I, I doubt people would have any sympathy. over LOL...
  10. LOL... it's the hot weather!!! :D
  11. no that's the one.... but if you use the bracket I bought it should push the strut far enough out to work fine. have a look at my 3rd pic again and transpose it to the drivers side.... :) by the way I have a spare bracket and strut.. (bought two in case I wanted to so both sides)
  12. this is his 5th accident (isn't it) Looks like his driving skills really are like Mr Bean.... LOL
  13. 2.2 Kg difference between your measurement and Zedworlds..Mmmmmmm why would that be??? do they make them out of different metals? is theirs without the padding and yours with?
  14. LOL... don't blame you... I'd be happy to provide more detailed information and using the divers side enables you to use an existing bolt hole.
  15. I know this has been done before and I’ve seen a few post on how to do it. Well, I’m very happy with the finished product but I can’t say it was a straight forward job. Firstly, deciding what side to put the lifter, do I move the vac unit for the cockpit gauge or do I move the fuel filter? I went for the fuel filter, not sure it was the right option but it worked. Secondly, finding a way of fixing the bracket to the body was a bit of a pain. The only way I could see to get behind to put a nut on any thing was by way of under the dash… too much trouble. So using one of the pre existing holes I went for a fixing that wouldn’t need it, managed to find a “Type D Insert Nut” (with Alan key to do it up)….. seemed to go in nice though the double skin and sit tight.. had to drill the hole in the bracket (for the strut) a bit bigger to fit the bolt but it works a treat… I then made a support for the top fixing (metal 3” x 1”) I also had to find a nut (& split washer) that would fit the fixing. The easy part was working out how far up the bonnet to drill the hole, the hard part was getting the nut in position and holding it to do it up (though the little access hole... magnet stick & pointy nose pliers). After adjusting the pressure in the strut (via release pressure grub screw) so that it would close easily but still hold the bonnet open, the final problem was getting it to close without hitting the feed to the fuel filter, ended up moving the filter a bit… Anyway this is the result….
  16. I've got one of those for the front of the car.. tried to put it on the other day (just for show) and it wouldn't fit!!!! it hits on the fuel pipe on the plenum... you would have to undo the bracket for the fuel pipe, move it and grind off where the bold goes.... even then it would be very close to the engine and most likely knock or rub..... junk!!!! keep away!!!!
  17. are you sure 34 lph is enough? it's my understanding that the standard TT pump is capable of 255 LPh
  18. exactly... so as long as the only way to see that the disks are scored is to take the wheels off you have a case ... :)
  19. I think we're getting away from the point.... whether they should or shouldn't check the nuts .... are they responsible for them being loose is of importance. they should check the bearings and bushes that usually requires movement of the wheels either mechanically or by hand, if the nuts where loose then they could have detected it (notice I didn't say should have) they are checking the car for road safety so king of a point less test if you can't pick something like that up. some mechanics take wheels off to check the brakes.... not saying they did just pointing it out.. we can't assume anything because it is or isn't part of a test. somehow the nuts got loose.. (they don't get loose on their own if done up right).. as was asked earlier had any work been done on the wheel before by someone else.
  20. However they should be checked during an MOT.........
  21. yeah, agreed... make sure the oil level is right as well....
