  1. have a look hear as well.... guide on an Oz forum.... http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.341
  2. yeah mate.. common fault... heater matrix and or the pipes to it... crap job to do... i think there are a number of threads on here about it... you could disconnect it or replace it, the replacement units are for a different model of Nissan and aren't too expensive... around £40 if i remember correctly (and you mat also have to get new hoses). either way its a pain to do..... so a search in the FAQ section .....
  3. Well, i have to say, that does look nice.... just the right amount of white... if the rims were thicker or had a lot more spokes I think it would be too much... as with nearly everything like this, it's totally a matter of personal taste/opinion... (who in their right mind would want all the Zeds to look the same anyway)
  4. so i assume you also have the fog lights with the side lights in them..... just connect/link the side light wires... I think you need to get the right connectors (for either the fogs or the indicators unit) depending on which way you are doing the connection.... but that will become clear as you do the job. just post a pic and I'm sure someone will have something you can use.... mine is a Jap spec and I had to change the indicator harness... (if i remember correctly..lol)
  5. but from this i don't hold too much hope....
  6. I'll reserve judgment until they are on.... I only hope they don't look like white socks with black trousers & shoes... :D
  7. Ditto !!!! better get them checked....
  8. Yes, mine is like that.... easy job... (like Jeff said)... do you have the indicators with the side light (i.e. two bulbs)?
  9. Talk F'n Talk..... lol... I guess that can't be all bad.... but I know too many horror stories.... fines for late payment... huge reconnection fees.... don't get me started... LOL...
  10. the stuff is called butyl rubber and available on ebay in strips/rolls (for about £10)
  11. LOL.. safety in numbers.... No. 1.... but I warn you... you'll be tempted by the dark side again!!!!! :D
  12. yeah.... agreed.... from what I can see you get a slightly softer ride off 18's and from what I've found the tyres are cheaper and easier to find...
  13. well... I can't say he didn't deserve it.... I hope you also terminated you relationship with the woman involved... I certainly wouldn't ever be able to trust her again.... and I hope you're in a happy relationship now... :D
  14. I would like to see some pics.... :)
  15. So what is the jail term for something like that in NZ?...lol....
  16. Yeah I suppose so.... like i said that was the only thing I could think of... LOL...
  17. LOL... yeah, I also saw one of these last week.... austerity strikes again!!!... I don't care too much either way.. the only point that I could see as a issue was due to it being so easy to forge, a lot more people could do it and that then puts the onus on the person buying the car to ensure it is MOT'd.... and not everyone is computer literate or has access... and so when are the log books / tax renewals going down the same track?
  18. LOL... YES, I know... I certainly can't remember saying that you can't find the chassis number!!! I was just point out that you can work out the age of a car from he code on the VIN number for the UK cars. BUT... with the Chassis number from a JAP import the only way to tell the age of it is to either contact Nissan or find the list that is on the internet... by the way the DVLA does neither of those things, they don't even bother looking at the sill covers or seat belt tags or rear light inside covers (where the date of manufacture of those parts is stamped, BUT all those parts can be replaced and the seat belts can have the tags cut off). AND SO... as my point stands just because the reg papers say the car is a certain age doesn't mean squat!!! and this is the chart.... (yes I've know about it for years :tt2:) http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.79 is that clear enough for you..... :glare:
  19. Hi mate and welcome.... LOL... 16 to 21 year old card... mate, heaps of things.. it really depends on what the condition of the car is, there are plenty of guys on here that haven't had to do much to their cars.... However on the other side if a car has been abused then get ready to squeeze you wallet till it bleeds.... LOL... So for starters read the FAQ section on what to look for in a 300 (i.e. how to buy one). Also you should be considering what exactly you want, there are different variants. example: long wheel base, Normally aspirated (LWB, NA) long wheel base, twin turbo (LWB, TT) more power but more to go wrong and more insurance. there are also variants in a sort wheel base with either hard top or targa and you can also get a convertible (NA only, unless it's been modded) also some of the models are only available as imports and there-in lies other issues (i.e. insurance & its difficult to find their true year of manufacturer as the importer could have given incorrect information to the DVLA). and that isn't even talking about the interior spec or the difference in year of manufacturer (i.e .the series). you're best off having a look at a few to see the difference and then with that and you budget and a good mechanic to check it over (and the buyers guide), make you choice. i hope that helps..
  20. I've had mine in the reverse section for years and have never had a problem with the MOT... so yeah... i can't see a problem unless someone wants to get picky... and unfortunately those MOT testers do exist... always best to find a guy you can trust that you know will do the right job without ripping you off.. and keep going to him.
  21. yeah... particularly the yellow stuff.... :D
