  1. Hi, it's worth a try, you could also try and update or re-install the USB drivers, somehow they might have got corrupted. computers are the devil in physical form.. :)
  2. kind of, it depends on why they are high... you need to check everything and adjust the idle.. this is a good one for that.. (called the 6Ps) http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/922678/The-6-Ps-Proper-Preparation-Prevents-Piss-Poor-Performancegt.html
  3. I had a chance to adjust my windows when I recently replaced my door cards.... it has made a substantial difference..
  4. FYI... the backing fog assembly must still have all the section for the lenses to clip in to or you will gave to glue them in place.
  5. very nice... are they the ones you can re-fuel from a tanker as you drive? ... ;)
  6. Agreed, regular culprit... if not dirty it could then be the sender unit. (you can check it by taking it out putting it in boiling water, at the same time put an ohmmeter on it to measure the resistance, it should gradually change, I think there is a test you cna do in FSM) It could also be the connector to the IAA unit or the unit might need a clean or have a vac leak. good write up on the IAA here: http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.337 this might also help: http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.335 - - - Updated - - - LOL.. beat me... :)
  7. lol.. yeah, got to admit that as much as I admire them they give me the creeps.. :D many years is Oz has implanted a healthy respect...
  8. like I said, they are ones for another (nissan) car that needed small modification to fit... give them a call, speak to Chris and say Gerry mentioned it.. he can give you the full run down on them.. Call:01803 850050 or Email info@conceptua-tuning.co.uk
  9. LOL.. yeah, they are the ones (they are also in Torbay, Brixham)
  10. I'm not 100% but I don't think nissan do them as a single item... I know a company that has had some modded to the the same fit.. you could speak to them if you want.
  11. if only I had the money... lol... and one from Adam Savage's Cave...
  12. agreed.. I was shifting myself just watching.. :D
  13. I have a working used wiper motor, I'll send you some pics if you're interested.
  14. there are a lot of components that could go wrong, the wiper amplifier the timer control the motor or just the connections to those and the fuses.. check the connectors to the control pod, check fuses... have a look in the FSM it has a good comprehensive diagram of the wiring and a test for the amp.
  15. 380s are dual filament, a 21 & 5 w section... ebay has some nice cheap stuff... or you can also go/pay silly money.. I assume you need 4 of them.. you're biggest problem might be fitting them in the hole / space.
  16. TPS if you're interested... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?175080-Few-bits-for-sale
  17. I understand that the car can run with it unplugged but if other stuff isn't setup right it will stall.. so I guess .. it may be a part of the cause.. (at least).
  18. Hi, sounds very strange, unfortunately I can't picture what section you are talking about " hitting the silver metal cover on the engine" may be a diagram or photo. Or a video "with sound" of the offending noise. you say the car has had a service done, by whom and what did they do, what parts did they change and what did they use? what did they say about the noise? there are a number of checks that you can do... run ecu codes (see tech section)... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?128845-Ecu-diagnostics check timing and a number of other components and settings.. this is a good guide: http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=922678 and this also for erratic idle: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?126853-curing-erratic-idle
  19. LOL.. yeah, like Hollings says... you seem to have spent a lot of money and time on the car, why not also invest in effort :) the tech section... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?128845-Ecu-diagnostics link to instructions on another site with codes, once you know what they are you can also find the solution for many issues in the tech section or by using the search button... you haven't mentioned doing a full check... i.e. fuses (all three fuse boxes) tps ptu coils maf cas battery injectors .. etc... good luck
  20. I guess he's busy sorting out his birthday bump.. :( anyway... all the best..
  21. Well aside from some water getting in to the car (no surprise in this weather, just adjusted the windows, hope it helps), the heater matrix needing replacing (Brrrr), an exhaust leak and knocking exhaust (didn't have time to get under and inspect) and the ever increasing amount of rust bubbles popping up everywhere..... It seems the locking system is going to give me right headache. When I unlock the car the passengers door lock keeps locking and unlocking, I can hear a clicking from inside the drivers door. If I push the lock on the drivers door to lock, it stops, if i push the lock to unlock on the passengers door it stops. If i disconnect the passengers door it still makes a clicking in the drivers door. So took the door card off, took part of the assembly out but the actuator/switch that is causing the problem is attached to the bottom of the door catch mechanism. I just din't have enough time to pull it all part and check it out, lots of cables, tie rods and clips. I haven't have a good look in the FSM but would like any advice people can offer on fixing this. I was going to post in the wanted selection for a replacement but really need to check out the FSM first for its name image and location diagram. cheers.
  22. well no matter what they are looking mighty fine!! :)
